Yeahhh, I'm not s**t talking OutlawD as a person because he seems to be kosher. But what I read in that fight, and keep in mind I read it as each post came in fresh, was...

...not 16/20 material or even ... 8/20 material.

That was almost Mana the Hackcat vs Aoi material in HoH, which while it did go off a different set of standards and rules, I gave Mana a lower single digit score than the above.

when aren't you mad

I'm curious. Just somewhat curious. Just answer me this.

Did you consider all of Outlaw's actions valid? Even the post where he does the 10 in 1 deal? Did you also take into the account how he chose not to post for five days, so there never was a fight?

I took everything into account. Whether I considered them valid, that isn't what I'm here to judge subjectively; I'm entirely objective when grading.

Let's look at what he, and you did during the fight. My judgement is in the spoiler.

Athena v Bojuka

Athena

True to Character: 3
Clarity: 2
Entertainment Value: 1
Domination: 4
Winner:
WOW Factor:
TOTAL: 10

Bojuka

True to Character: 4
Clarity: 4
Entertainment Value: 2
Domination: 3
Winner:
WOW Factor:
TOTAL: 13

Judge Opinion:

Athena: Well, first of all, Vin changed his writing style part way through. It threw me for a loop, and brought the clarity score down by far, and the same for the true to character piece. The entire fight was a shitstorm, but you managed to dominate for the most part, in that Athena decided the pace, and Bojuka, for the most part, was reacting.

Bojuka: The writing could have been better here, but you stayed with the character, and displayed aspects I as a judge look for in this tournament. You, like Vin, went hog wild when things went bad, but you showed off skill, even when being pressed by "the strongest woman in the world."

Outlaw did that huge 10 move thing. It messed with his Clarity, his True to Character, and his Entertainment Value scores. Likewise, his refusal to post also affected the Entertainment value in his score. That's why it's a three instead of a four or a five.

He didn't act like a champion there, and I was disappointed. I almost wanted to scrap my scores based entirely on that show of immaturity. I almost did! I would have given you the win, and obviously, you aren't my favorite person.

Moving to you. Like I noted, you changed your writing style with Athena. The original stuff was fabulous, for all intents and purposes, and I liked it a lot (as a judge reading multiple threads, two of which were sizable, and dealing with my schedule, writing ability has become incredibly important). But you changed it, and it pulled from more or less every score on the card; True to Character, Clarity, Entertainment, etc. You, like Outlaw, did some weird stuff in the fight. Among them, throwing your primary weapon. IF Athena is the World's Strongest, that doesn't show any sort of intelligence. Why throw a massive hammer?

Nevertheless, Athena pressed Bojuka consistently throughout the fight. That's important here, and it's reflected, is it not?

Finally, you acted out, just like Outlaw did. You were both unbecoming in the OOC, and where that might not be as important to the other judges, I'm a firm believer that this is not only an IC contest of Champions, but it's an Out of Character show as well. You and he both didn't display a lick of sense outside of the fight; it was complaints left and right. Outlaw even went to Hero exclusively to get a ruling, and it left a massive miscommunication, more or less a wound, from where you think you're somehow in the right by complaining about our scores.

I've got school, I've got other obligations on other sites. When I do this, I do it because I want to do it, I want to offer my services to this community, and I want to see this prosper because a good friend is in charge. I do NOT need you, or anyone else, giving me s**t because they believe me to be wrong or misinformed when it concerns who won.

I'm talking you not out of spite, but I wanted to see your line of thinking when you were judging this. It's not like I'm being angry over the results. It's moreso...there was no consistency or reasons. What makes a 4 and what makes a 1? This kind of stuff is what Darth got on me about for years, and thus prompted me to make a better rubric. And you busy in life may have made you rush through some things.

Most of the rubric is subjective. No matter how objective you judge, you're judging on:

True to Character:

You said:

Why did you judge me on this? In fact, why did you question why she threw it away? Wasn't that her staying to character to do so? She's pompous. She threw it away AND opened her guard to him on purpose. Those are all Athena's qualities. So, what exactly were you judging on that said I "changed it." What other weird stuff did I do?

Clarity: You gave me a 2 while Bojuka got a 4. You said about Bojuka:

Quote:
The writing could have been better here, but you stayed with the character

Why didn't you explain what could have been better with Bojuka? How come you said he was "better with character?" Do you guys have like hidden character rubrics we don't know about in the mod thread showing what makes a "true to character?"

So what does Clarity mean? Does it mean writing so you know what's going on? What else does it entail? We hardly did anything technical, and I'm not saying I'm the best writer, but I believes I wrote everything clear as day. I kept sentences simple and let actions be known by any reader by keeping them split up one by one. How come I got a 2 here, when Bojuka who was throwing everything into one paragraph got a 4? Am I missing something?

Entertainment Value:
I find this one strange.
Quote:

You gave him a 2 actually. But, something's not right. How did I get a 1? I posted on time. Even if I wasn't that entertaining, that should have at least put me in a scale above Bojuka's. Can you explain this further for me?

Domination: Uh...
Quote:

Nevertheless, Athena pressed Bojuka consistently throughout the fight. That's important here, and it's reflected, is it not?

Not really. Cause you gave me a "4" and he got a "3". What are those values? So, if one person is dominating, how come you graded that the other did too?

Here's your judgment:

Quote:
Athena: ...but you managed to dominate for the most part, in that Athena decided the pace, and Bojuka, for the most part, was reacting.
Bojuka: ...but you showed off skill, even when being pressed by "the strongest woman in the world."

How did he show skill? Is skill part of Dominance? Actually, when did he show skill? Is skill activating a shield to block an attack? He did no actual defenses in any of posts nor landed anything. He just ignored anything I did and never replied to my latest post cause he kept complaining about a post that we weren't even on anymore.

I'm confused...there's no consistency in what you're telling me and the score. Why have a score system at all?

Quote:

Hold up. Did you even read the OOC between us? There's a difference between an argument and a discussion. I remained civil with Bojuka the whole time. He somewhat did, too, though he got a little more offensive with things. We weren't insulting one another, at least I wasn't, yet he was calling me all kinds of stuff.

Outlaw going to Hero should have further sent off an alarm in your head. Why wasn't any of the ruling told to me or posted in our thread? Why did Outlaw just say "Hero told me this", crossed out my post when he quoted it, and posted the same thing? Meanwhile, zantara had made a judgment on our fight earlier that we both were told about, but then he ignored it. Were you ever notified of that happening?

I'm not the only one who sees something wrong here. I figured you would have at least picked up on the general tone in this thread that the rulings, not just with my fight, were questionable. Especially for my fight that didn't go anywhere. I'm not bashing you as a judge. I just...really cannot see the scores and what you're saying matching up at all. You could have like rolled a dice for each category, and it would be the same sense of what I'm seeing.

And finally...

I think Vintrict has some good points.
Something just seemed off with the rulings but I couldn't quite put my finger on it. I'm certainly not going to lose sleep over this or anything. What's done is done but I was interested in the thought process behind everyone's grades as well.

All I can really say to this is that I've explained myself. I shouldn't have to explain my decision, yet I did. If your ego is so broken that you need to try and argue it out, go on ahead, but I won't be a part of it.

He doesn't necessarily have good points, he has points he can put enough fluff around to make them seem good.

Nevertheless, I explained the thought process I had behind his fight. If you want something more in depth about yours, ask me tomorrow.
