Amalirahc's eyes began to sparkle at the question, and it was clear that he was very fond of the upcoming town.
"Ebonscarp is the best place ever!" he exclaimed enthusiastically. "Well, in the Westland at least! It's so pretty! It's even prettier than Tavari, even though it's a little bit bigger, and the people don't stare there quite as much as they did in Tavari, and they don't do staff fights, they do wrestling instead but only if you ask them if they want to!"
Iorlas laughed. Those would of course be the things that a little boy would notice.
"They also have the best healer in all of the Four Lands who does not have healing as a magical gift," she added with a smile. "Though he is right, it is a very friendly town."

"So they use lotions and medicine and bandages and other things like that?" Miyuki asked with interest.
She of course knew only a little, like what everything in the med kit was, but that was only because her mother had insisted she know.

"I don't know, I've never had to use it," Amalirahc quipped with a grin, but Iorlas had a more informative answer.
"I suppose that is what you could call them, yes," she replied with a smile. "The healer there is very old, and he knows much. He uses ... well, salves and drafts and the like, which I suppose you could call lotions and medicines. Elixirs. I do not know where he gets them from, though it would not surprise me if he ordered them from Elarinya. Valar know, she rarely has a need for them in Tavari."

"Well... she did say she did make things for a healer, but she didn't say who...."
And for all Miyuki knew it could have been the healer in town (the town had it's own healer right?)

"I'm sure she must supply for more than just one person, anyways," Iorlas smiled. "If we're terribly curious, we could always ask."
Not that she would do such a thing herself - she preferred to keep to herself, really. Even her association with the group she was traveling with at the moment was accidental.
"I could ask!" Amalirahc volunteered immediately, his hand shooting up into the air. "I like asking questions!"
Understandable, as the boy had really no sense of tact.

"If you want to," Miyuki replied.
She didn't mind if Amalirahc asked, just as she didn't mind most of his questions.
"It would be neat to know though if the healer makes it himself or if someone there or farther away makes it for him."

"I bet he's smart enough to make them himself," Amalirahc said smartly. "Because Alassëa says that the healer there is the one who taught her how to heal and stuff."
Not that he knew any details beyond that, of course.
Iorlas looked surprised. "Is Alassëa from Ebonscarp?" she asked curiously.

Miyuki nodded at that, "That's what Alassea said."
She had forgotten about that, but now that she remembered it she wondered if this mean that Alassea's family would be there or if this meant she would stay there.

Amalirahc looked uneasily over his shoulder, towards the front of the wagon where Alassëa was sitting and talking with Aethos, who was riding his horse right next to the wagon.
"I wonder if that means you won't be having staff lessons with her for very long," he said to Miyuki, his tone sad. "What if she wants to stay here? She's really very nice ..."

Miyuki thought about it, that would be sad actually. She did like having staff lessons with Alassea, and she did enjoy it more than she had working with the blade. Even if it was difficult, but no one said learning would be easy!
"I don't know..." Miyuki admitted, "It depends I guess if she stays with us or the town."

"How long has it been since she was there?" Iorlas asked the children curiously.
Amalirahc looked at Miyuki. "Um ... how long did Arthael say?" he asked her. He wasn't entirely sure, a lot had happened about the time that they'd run into the woman, and he had been very distracted. "A long time ..."

"Not since she was little," Miyuki replied with a shrug, "A long time I think."
Miyuki just wasn't sure how long though, longer than Alassea had been traveling with them that was for certain. She just didn't remember how long that was.

Iorlas nodded. "I wonder what her family will say when they have her back," she mused. "I'm sure they would be very happy to see her again."
"I don't think she has a family," Amalirahc replied flippantly, kicking his feet back and forth over the edge of the wagon. "She said she has a teacher there but that's it."
He looked thoughtful. "That would be sad, I think, not to have a family."

"But maybe her teacher is kind of like family," Miyuki pointed out.
Of course Miyuki had a bit more flexible definition of family than most people, but she was use to that.
"At least she's not alone."
And if she was, she certainly wasn't anymore.

"Yeah ..."
Amalirahc sounded doubtful, though. He wanted to say that she wasn't alone when she was with them, but he knew that the group would eventually disperse, and that she would need someone to be with after that. It wouldn't be fair to expect her to stay with them just because he wanted her to.
