{Leon : Angel Grove : Streets}
If Leon was hesitant at all about utilizing the dark portal, he didn't show it. This was definitely his first time using the very thing that he fought against as a method of transport. That fact, though a bit unsettling, was not enough for him to change his mind and ask for the assistance of someone who they obviously couldn't trust.
'Our light will keep us safe...' He thought as he looked into the eternal darkness of the corridor.
"Let's just get it over with." He said bluntly as he walked into the portal behind Kyla without another word.

Jacob ll Crow's nest
Through each forced breath of air, Jacob answer Noelle. "Well! Born in Baltimore. Raised in Indiana. I like the mountains in between better. Whaddabout you? East coast? West coast? Gulf coast? Country gal?" Jacob continued inching his way around, eying several jagged edges again, on his third time around.

[ Seymour : Angel Grove : City Streets ]
"Cory has a-... point," Seymour attempted to say a few moments later, having pondered his proposal, only to be interrupted by Kyla marching through the Corridor anyway. He released a sigh.
"That is why I avoid using the Corridors- the possible taint. However," he began, turning to Cory, not with an amused eye or even one of annoyance, but one of mutual curiosity. "Perhaps, as they are guided by the Light in their hearts to dive in, hoping to help others... perhaps because they use them for purely unselfish reasons, the Darkness has a lesser effect, if one at all? An... interesting hypothesis."
"Whatever you all choose, I will meet you over there," he began, now disappearing slowly into pyreflies from the ground up. "Hopefully things are not as bad as we fear."

[ Narration ] Upon entering the portal, Kyla and Leon would have seen themselves in the middle of the 'village', which was actually a small island town- specifically, just off to the side of a building, where they could see but not be seen. There did seem to be some damage to buildings, but nothing severe; in fact, many people were getting out and about, trying to get a good idea of the damage done, but they seemed anything but terrorized- more annoyed than anything. There were no monsters, no space pirates... it seems someone had already come by to save the day. [[GMed the portal a bit, Bobbi, sine you didn't specify where it would go. And no, Cory, I didn't forget about your Unversed, they just haven't started yet.]]

[Anthony ~.~ Caribbean Sea ~.~ Lower Deck of The Pearl]
Anthony stood behind Kyle, listening to the two of them speak back and forth. He was glad they were both alright, but he couldn't help but feel a sense of awkwardness around them. It was like going to a party with a close friend who introduces you to his or her close friends, then leaves you alone with those friends. He felt out of place, so he remained silent.
Anthony was perplexed once Louis showed signs of memory loss, having no recognition of what had happened in the past 30 minutes or so as if he weren't present. Just moments ago, Louis had knocked the wind out of Jacob, but now, after being back for only a couple of minutes, he can't remember a thing. "I wonder if this has anything to do with all the lights and noises coming from behind the door before I broke it down," the dark haired man pondered as he played with his bread, trying to figure out what could've caused Louis to suddenly forget.
"Dawn's not taking it very well," Anthony finally spoke, putting emphasis on the "not" and chuckling as he rubbed his stomach where Dawn had kneed him earlier. "Joe tried to speak to her once we got back, but I'm not sure how much of what he had to say got to her. Hopefully she'll be fine. Probably a little upset until we get James back, but overall I think she'll be fine."

[[Louis : Caribbean Sea : Black Pearl - Below Deck]]
Louis tilted his head to face Anthony as he spoke. Louis smiled warmly at him in thanks the returned his face to one more fitting to the conversation, "Someone should keep an eye on her just in case. These things can get to a person if they're left alone to brood with no release."
Louis tried standing on his own without the wall again, shaking a little at the knees, but overall able to move freely, "First things first. We should get Joe to a bed."
As he walked to the door, Louis turned back to Kyle with a look crossed between a smile and frown, an uneasy expression unclear exactly what it was supposed to say, "Hey..." Louis stated finally after a moment of hesitation, "thanks. For everything. I owe you one."
Louis turned away and walked out, spotting Joe on the ground a short distance away. He walked over to him, bending over him for a second. Without hesitation he placed the back of his hand on his forehead for a second, still saying nothing. Louis turned back to the room he'd come from and yelled back, "Err... Anthony? Could you do me a huge favor and go get me a small bucket of fresh water and a towel from the hold? Bring it to the sleeping quarters if you can."
Louis knelt down next to Joe leaning on one knee while the other remained tucked near his chest, "Hey..." Louis spoke softly, "I'm moving you to the sleeping quarters. Don't try and stand... you've been poisoned and the last thing we need you doing is going and trying to do everything like the hard headed idiot I know you are. So just shut it and stay still."
Louis didn't give the fighter a choice. Usually he might have been worried he would have put up a fight, but with the effect of poison in his body he didn't expect him to put up that much of a fight in protest. So without waiting for an answer from the fighter, Louis slipped his arms under the male and hoisted him up, lifting with the strength of his legs and core.
Louis laughed as he turned and started down the hallway towards the sleeping quarters. He spoke sarcastically, "Dude, what the hell. You weigh a ton. You should really hold off on those extra helpings at dinner. Yeah, that's right... I saw you the other night, sneaking back to the counter to grab seconds while you thought no one was looking. See what that does to you? Gone and ate too much and you've made yourself sick. Pitiful."

[Alan :: Angel Grove Streets]
For some reason he didn't understand, Alan was actually cheered a little at seeing Cory. That feeling was short lived, though, as things quickly became . . . unpleasant. Not hostile, exactly, but with Seymour and Cory's verbal sparring, and with Kyla's obvious (and understandable) distrust of the rogue, Alan quickly came to wish that he were caught in the middle of some other conversation.
He looked over his shoulder as Kyla and Leon entered the portal. Kyla had a point - if they couldn't face this small darkness, they were in deeper trouble then they knew - but Cory obviously had some reason for offering his help. Alan doubted that Cory's first concern was the status of the group's hearts. More likely, he had something in mind . . .
In which case, Alan thought, I should humor him.
He turned back to the rogue, expression curious. "Extravaganza?", he asked.
Alan grinned internally.

[Nick :: Angel Grove :: Streets >> Dark Portal >> Village]
Nick hadn't noticed the black and blue fire dude show up. He couldn't help but notice some animosity between the guy and Seymour. It was actually kind of funny to him, in all honesty. The Lanista chuckled a bit before getting up and grabbing his rifle out of the nearby rubble. It was a little scratched up, but no serious damage as far as he could tell.
"Alright, I guess we're off then." Nick said, balancing the rifle on his shulders before walking into the dark portal. He paused only for a moment to stare at Cory before entering. Something about him seemed...different. He couldn't put his finger on it, but something wasn't right.

[Cory .:. Angel Grove .:. City]
The ronin slipped his hands into his pockets as Seymour made his comment and left while the rest of the group seemed content with risking their hearts in Darkness. He was about to leave when Alan questioned Cory's ability, prompting the rogue to turn to the mage.
"It's one of my Burst techniques. It allows me to compress five bursts into one for a single, long-range burst. Aside from some fatigue on your body, there's no negative side effects... unlike Dark Portals."

Nithhogr moved forward, cracking his knuckles as fire burned inside his mouth. "First thing's first, lassie, watch your tongue. If'n we did find you in an unfortunately prone position, t'would be you in trouble."
"Nithhogr shut up."
"Roight."
The Unversed stepped back and Laan said, "You'll have to forgive Nithhogr's lack of manners. His personality is cut from the same cloth as Cory, so-"
~
"-he wants to kill you, Ajora. It might have something to do with your Dark Ultima." Laan's face lit up, like he'd forgotten something as he was talking. "And my name is Laan."

"Well," Alan said, as he casually walked towards Cory, "If you're offering."
It was back - that oddly bemused expression Alan seemed to get from time to time. This time, though, it was really a poker face as much as anything, meant to cover up both his bad mood and his lingering distrust of Cory.

[Anthony ~.~ Caribbean Sea ~.~ Lower Deck of The Pearl]
"Yeah, sure," Anthony said before hurrying even further below deck into the ship's hold. The wooden stairs that led into the ship's cargo hold creaked with every step the warrior-knight took. The further down the steps the man went, the darker it became; however, a dimly lit lantern hung on the wall at the end of the steps, which he used to help illuminate his path. Shinning the lantern on the stacks of crates, Anthony began searching for the fresh water and towels.
"Let's see now," he said, bringing the lantern closer to the crates to better read what was written on them. "Gun powder... cannon balls... spices... rum... clothes... even more gun powder and cannon balls... Ugh! Where are the water and towe--oh, here they are... and conveniently right next to each other."
Anthony set the lantern down then cracked the crates marked "water" and "rags" open. He pocketed a few towels and grabbed a jug of water before picking up the lantern and heading back to the stairs. Just before he reached the stairs, someone from behind him whispered, "Hast thou found what ye sought?" Immediately, Anthony spun around, eyes scanning whatever the lantern lit up, but found no one there. Officially freaked out, the man turned back around, hung the lantern, and ran up the stairs and to the sleeping quarters.
"I got the things you asked for, Louis," Anthony said as he walked into the sleeping quarter and up to Louis, handing him the items. "Need anything else?"

((No worries, Kyle, I left it open-ended on purpose. Wait, was that a pun?))
{Bobbi, Demyx .:. Angel Grove .:. City > Hawaiian Village}
Bobbi was a little surprised at Cory's apparent concern for the state of their hearts. On the one hand, he was a two-faced jerk who only cared about himself. On the other hand, he had a point.
Although Kyla voiced a thought the Archer had almost as soon as Cory mentioned the taint from the Dark Portals.
"I agree with Kyla," she said. "If I can't take a little exposure like this, I'm turning in my official B*tchtastic license and going cheerleader. It's cliche, I know, but I'm not afraid of the darkness. Never have been, never will be. So thanks, but no thanks."
Bobbi turned to Demyx and the portal with the distinct feeling that she was packing up and leaving something behind. Maybe, in a way, she was. It kind of felt like she was shedding the life she'd had on Earth and embracing her new role in the universe as... whatever she was now.
She stopped in front of the portal and looked back at everyone else. At least one of them was going to go along with Cory's Extravaganza, Leon and one of the others had already gone through the portal, and Seymour was going to meet them there. Everyone else looked like they had yet to make up their minds.
"I firmly believe in embracing everything life has to throw at me. The good and the bad," Bobbi said during her pause. "It may be stupid, it may be dangerous, I don't care. I'll cherish my heart as it is, no matter what happens. If the darkness already there gets stronger, so be it. But I'll take whatever I can get, and use it to do what I feel is right. And I won't have any regrets."
With that over-dramatic speech, Bobbi stepped through the portal, mentally kicking herself for the theatrics.
Stupid, stupid, stupid... I just made a retard of myself!
~:Hush, child. I'm proud of you.:~
A faint, proud smile could be seen on Bobbi's face when she came out of the portal in the Hawaiian village. That smile turned to relief when she saw that the town looked safe, and only a little worse for wear.
Demyx stood holding the portal open as the kids determined if they would trust Cory. Demyx wouldn't, after some of the things Cory had been doing and plotting behind their backs earlier. Demyx wasn't about to reveal anything, though. He'd just keep up with the stupid act and see what happened. Although he had a... "feeling" was the wrong word, it was more like a hunch that the Earth kids together could help him restore his heart. He should really be giving them all the help he could but there had been too many broken promises and failed attempts in that regard.
Instead of saying anything about Cory's... Cory-ness, Demyx instead feigned an impatient expression and all but snapped, "Yeah, kids, open portal right here? Doesn't keep itself open forever, you know!" He figured he had about two or three more minutes left before he had to go through himself and close the portal behind him.

[Joe: Caribbean Sea: Pearl~Below Deck]
The male just kinda stared up at Louis. Was it Louis? Looked like Louis. Except kinda spin-y. He should really stop spinning, or else he might get sick like Joe. Oh, wait, that was just his vision. Dammit.
Closing his eyes as he was lifted, them male grunted at talk about being hard headed and 'fat'. "I know I know own stupid fault... and I can't help it. Midnight snacks are my main meals." Sad part? He was serious, not even catching the joking.
As he was set down on the cot, Joe sighed and closed his eyes...er...eye. "Sorry I was stupid...."
Anthony came in, and the male opened his eyes and spied the water. "Some of that?" He pointed at the water "Yeah, that'd be great. Also please make the ship stop spinning?" The male put a hand on the wall and lowered a foot to the floor, and the spinning at least slowed. It was a trick his aunt, who learned from his grandfather, of what to do when drunk enough that the world was spinning. Who knew it'd be helpful?

{Kyle : Angel Grove: City Streets}
Listening to the ongoing discussion, Kyle was rather glad that they hadn't driven to the village. That would have taken forever. Thankfully Demyx was willing to open a portal for them. That would shorten time considerably.
What really surprised him was when Cory showed up again. He hadn't been expecting to hear from him for the next 24 hours though. Especially since a fair majority of the group disliked him. He watched as Kyla walked through the portal, immediately followed by Leon. Alan asked what Cory meant by his Extravaganza technique and Cory explained. Alan was going with him it seemed. And then Bobbi went into the portal. And Demyx was whining again.
He was tempted to go with Cory, but Seymour had said something interesting. And now he was tempted to see if his Light was strong enough to protect him from the Darkness. So, with that thought in mind, Kyle nodded to Cory and Alan and stepped through the dark portal. He found himself next to the other three, looking out at the other people. Nobody seemed to be in any danger either. Which was definitely good. No clear signs of Ooze.
"Well then. Shall we go help these people out? Rebuilding is always fun." He said, smiling to the other three.
