Haley smiled at the fox, 'Maybe this place won't be so bad' she thought. It was so cute, it reminded her of her of pet Aki. She glanced to the ceiling trying to return to thought. (I have to go, my dad says I need sleep. Bye Sakura)

Jumping up onto Her lap, she climbed up onto her shoulder, smelling all around where she smelt her mother's hand. She looked up at the girl, cocking her tiny head to the side, mouth open slightly. Realising now that she was on a complete stranger, she puffed up, screaming. Jumping off of the girl, she curled up in a corner, her head buried behind her larger-than-body tail. Ears perked up, she stuck one up over the edge of her fluffy tail, warily staring at the girl.

Elfir emerged from the storeroom with an empty bag of cookies, and, tossing it in a trash can. He looked around; it seemed that there was a new person working at the Tavern, now. Funny. More staff than customers these days. "Nice ta meetcha, I'm Elfir," he said to Haley genially. He looked around; it had been awhile since he'd seen Bubby, Sune-ku, or Winston. He reckoned he have to go find them. He stopped as he began to walk out the door and turned around, wondering if he should announce his departure, then figured no one would care anyway, and slipped out unnoticed.

Sheldon looked at Suii and said "Sorry Suii if i'm making you feel bad......but I love Sakura!" Sheldon said as he frowned he walked out of the room and down the stairs to the main room and saw Sakura,Ooka, and Haley. He stood at the bottom step and stared at Haley."Hello........madame!" Sheldon said as he bowed his head at Haley.

Shaking her head as she saw the extravagant way Sheldon introduced himself to Haley. She turned her gaze back to Yusa, sighing as she saw the red tinted skin turn a paler pink. 'He's healing fast.' She thought, laying her head down on the couch near him.

Suii, having followed her boyfriend Sheldon down the stairs, finally crept out of the shadowy stair well, white horns glinting in the artificial light. She shook her navy locks, before silently walking up to Sheldon. Biting her claw as she saw the people in the room, she paled, half hiding behind him as she grabbed his hand.

Several hours after leaving in search of Bubby and Winston, Elfir returned empty handed and discouraged, barely muttering a brief, "Howd," to the rest of the occupants of the tavern. He limped into the bar, and, having neither waiter nor barmaid around, he fetched a mug and a bottle of root beer. Flopping down in a table by himself away from the rest of the company, he filled the mug and drank deeply, then when he had finally emptied his mug, sat back looking somewhat burdened. He sighed, then massaged the bridge of his nose with two fingers and at last walked up to the couch where Sakura and Yusa were at. He rubbed the back of his head sheepishly, then said, "Erm.... could I ask ya 'bout sommin', boss-lady?"

Looking up at him, and sighing, she shook her head. "Just call me Sakura Elfir. And, yes, you may. What is it?" She asked, turning to look straight at him. Her tails rubbed up against his leg as she waited for him to answer.

"Ah... I know this sounds trivial, but I wouldn't bother you with it if I didn't feel a bit worried about it... I haven't seen Winston or Bubby for a few days, and Sune and her cousin have been in their room for sometime without showing... I don't mean to be worrywart, but... um... aren't you a bit concerned, boss?" Elfir asked, anxiety temporarily breaking through his mask or seriousness, causing him to flush slightly.

Smiling up at him, she pulled him down to sit next to her. "I am not because i know that they are all fine. Sune-ku can handle herself, as I'm pretty sure her cousin left a few days ago. Bubby is fine I'm sure, and Winston, being an elf, will have no problems. I haven't sensed any large auras around, so we know they haven't come up against some large beast and not had the upper hand. You should not worry. " She smiled, hugging him. "We also have several areas where they could rest if they needed shelter in the woods; One being a large building that Lan discovered, and a few others being houses. One of those is Sheldon's old house. I'm sure Winston will be at home there if he needed to get away for a few days. Dont' stress out over them." She turned to look back at Yusa. "Elfir, I need to tell you something as well."

Elfir was still a bit uneasy over them missing, but nevertheless, he nodded convincingly and even attempted a small smile. "Yes?" he said to Sakura stuffing his hands in his jacket pockets and trying not to fidget.

Seeing his struggle to remain calm, she smiled sympathetically. "They can handle themselves Elfir; Relax." Her smile vanished as she looked up at the window that she had covered with black drapes. "In two days now, it will be a moonless night again. Unfortunately, that is the one night when we demons loose complete control. I had hoped Lan would have shown up, but I can't rely completely on him. If Yusa isn't back to full vigor, we may have a very bad situation on our hands. " She frowned down at her lap, ashamed that she couldn't control herself. Her tails temporarily quit rubbing on elfir, to lay completely still on the floor. "With you lacking your full power," She laid a hand on his mangled leg. " We'd most likely go after you first. I.....I don't want to hurt you Elfir..." She clamped her eyes shut, clenching her jaw.

Lacking full power? Oh, that stung, big time. Still, Elfir grinned airily and said, "Aw, it ought be fine, boss. I can still hold my own, ya know. But thanks fer watchin' out for me, anyway..." He hadn't been around during the last new moon, but judging from the chaos he'd come back to, it seemed... pretty bad... "Truthfully... I wouldn't wanna have ta hurt you either," he murmured inaudibly, "...should it come down to that..." He patted Sakura's arm brightening, and asked, "So, um, any precautions I should take or anything? Stock up on garlic or stakes or Holy water?"

Looking over at him, she Gawked at him. "You don't get it. Elfir, we'll be coming in for kill! Two, fully crazed demons, looking for food. We'll be faster, Uncaring, deadlier, killing machines! We don't recognize allies, friends, family.....anything! " She was breathing hard, tears welling in her eyes. " I think last time Lan shot at me with his rifle, and it didn't do anything. I'm happy we have two dragons here now though, they may be able to stop us." She held her head in her hands, sighing heavily. "I could kill you for no reason....Elfir I couldn't handle that..."

"And from what Bubby told me, a whack upside the head with a barstool will knock a demon out cold as well as anyone else, if you don't mind me saying." Elfir said lightly. Inside, however, he was slightly nervous about this; he didn't want to have to fight with Sakura, either. Feeling weak; that helpless feeling, was already setting a foothold on his heart, but he shook it off. He patted her arm once more and added with a small grin, "Don't worry, boss, if you want, I'll try ta stay out of yer way, ok?"
