It was close to sunrize and rei was sitting watching her children sleep. She had woke earlier not sleeping well. She knept thinkingabout her bakura.

"Remember; we need at least 99 lives for this to work." Akhenaden spoke to the soldiers he had borrowed from the palace. They had been confused at first, but now understood what they were doing and why. He knew none of them would talk. "They might be waking up now. There should be a suitable temple for the treasures to be forged. Leave no person alive." Bakura woke up suddenly, in a cold sweat. Something seemed wrong. He was cold, and crept into the house to try and get another blanket. He froze in the doorway when he saw that Rei was awake. "Is something wrong?" She didn't look well.

"I just cant sleep..." Somthing felt wrong to her as well. She felt like she needed to keep bakura close. Taking him by the arm she gently pulled him over. She wraped him up with her children having him sit in her lap.

There was suddenly a scream outside, making Bakura jump, his eyes wide. It was a woman's voice, but he didn't pause long enough to try and tell who it was, in case he knew them. As soon as the person screamed, there were other sounds. The village was prepared for such an event like this to happen; it was as though every person sprung awake at once.
The soldiers realized that there was now no point in trying to remain secretive, since one stupid woman spotted them entering. The game was suddenly beginning. Each soldier had a personal goal in mind, to try and get as many sacrifices as they could. They whooped and laughed as they ran forward, each armed with either swords or spears.
Bakura flew to the door, looking out. "Soldiers!" He cried breathlessly. He had been told that someday something like this might happen; however, he had no idea what was going on now. For a moment, he was frozen in fear. What was he supposed to do?

Hearing thescream as well rei jumped slightly. "Crap..." she muttered. "We have to get out of here." Rei said simply. She got to her feet scooping up bakura in her arms.

Bakura let out a shriek when he was picked up. He struggled out of Rei's grip, utterly frightened. It was as though his animal instincts had taken over. Managing to get out of her grip, he bolted outside. A lot of people had come out of their houses to see what was going on, and he was easily lost in the crowd. Akhenaden sat on a horse, watching from a distance as the soldiers fell upon the helpless villagers. They killed without hesitation; blood stained the ground in a matter of minutes. "They're animals, all of them. We should kill the soldiers when their job is done." He commented to the nearest magician. "Anyway, we should stay here until they're through."

Rei rushed threw the crowd. She wantered to make sure bakura was ok. She dident want him hurt.

Bakura dove behind a wall, closing his eyes shut tightly and lowering his head. Coward... he knew he was a coward, but he didn't want to be killed. He had heard such terrible things about the people from the palace. He flinched when he heard a man yell nearby, and then a soldier's voice. "Haw haw... Take that, you thieves!" The soldier held up his dagger, which was stained in blood. His eyes were wide and he had a maniacal grin on his face. "As punishment for robbing graves... now you scum will turn into gold!"

Rei weaved in and out of people. Out of nowere a knife stabed into his shoulder. He had missed her neck. She flung around snapping the soilders neck and continued serching,ignorning the blood running down her shoulder.

Everyone seemed frantic, and it was because of this that that was the downfall for a lot of them. One soldier had the brilliant idea to start setting things on fire. Amongst all the screaming and crying, nobody noticed a small little boy hiding behind a stone wall. He peered out, his eyes wide. Gold...? What did that man mean by gold? What was going on here?
Out of the corner of his eye, Bakura noticed Rei. Blood was streaming down from a wound on her shoulder, and he flinched in sympathy at the pain. He took in a deep breath, then ducked back behind the wall. Trying to go out there would be stupid, but... He remembered what he had told Rei earlier. Even if it had been partly a joke, he had still said he would protect her.
Keeping low to the ground, he darted out, avoiding the soldiers. He stumbled on a few fallen bodies before he reached Rei, and quickly seized her hand. "Watch out!" He hissed, tugging slightly. "We have to hide."

Feeling sombody touch her hand she almost attacked but relaxed once she saw him "Ok" she picked him up and ran twards thewall where he had been hiding. She was much faster than him.

Bakura squeezed his eyes shut and clung to Rei. He was struggling not to cry. "What's going on? I don't get it. I don't want to die..." He whimpered, his voice almost too soft to be heard.

Rei held bakuraclose to her chest along with her children "No bakura I wont let you die...Its going to be ok" she said softly her back pressed to the wall.

Bakura opened his eyes and peeked around the wall again. He couldn't help but watch. He suddenly jumped, his entire body tensing. "M-mama!" He had completely forgotten about his parents, until he looked out and saw her. He let out a shriek, however, when a soldier came up behind her. He watched, in horror, as the man ran a spear through his mother's stomach. He wasn't even aware that he was screaming as he watched her fall to the ground and the soldier grin before turning to find someone else to kill.

Rei yanked bakura away from the wall holding him close and not letting him look agian "Bakura dont look...." she said softly.
