Mike passed the Saffron Gym, making a mental note to call Nina afterwards. "I'd like to challenge her again, maybe gain a badge as a result too." He smiled, rather proud of himself for getting so many badges. "My mom is going to be so proud of me." The boy trailed off.
I'm proud of you master. Portabello said with a smile, his tail bouncing with each step.
The boy didn't know why, but when his Pokemon said those simple words, Mike could feel tears welling up. Memories of his trip began to flash like a rapid slide show. His first step of his journey with Nitro as a Charmander, his first capture, his first Gym badge. He remembered when Nitro evolved to save him and Kasiya from Hiro, who at the time was a very hurt Growlithe. His fight with Giovanni, which he is surprised he even made it out of, his rescue mission under the Celadon Game Corner to save Kasiya. His kiss with Flannery, the Gym battle beforehand, it was like it all happened in one day.
The boy knelt down beside his Pokemon, pulling him into a tight hug. "Thank you Portabello, I needed that."
The grass Pokemon smiled, closing his eyes and returning the hug, making sure to be gentle. You're welcome master.
Mike stood up, patting Portabello on the head, wiping a tear from his eye. "Let's get out of here." He said, as the two entered Cerulean City. He could have sworn to see the usually robotic guard crack a smile.

M.A. incoherently scanned the lounge of the PokeCenter, hardly processing what she saw. A group was just beginning to disperse away from the TV, commenting quietly amongst themselves -- she vaguely heard something about Saffron City, wherever that was. Must be of another region. The most noticeable party in the room were a group of intimidating people (gangsters? bikers? She didn't know for sure, either). Then, of course, there was Kasiya, safe and sound. . . But she looked worried, anxious, and perhaps a bit pale.
"Is everything alright?" Mary-Anne asked, glancing from the bikers to the PokeBalls in Kasiya's hand. She almost would inquired of Zyphyr's case, guessing that maybe the Pokemon's condition was the cause of concern, but crossed that out a moment later. Something else was the matter.

The trip back to Viridian was rather uneventful, and they arrived in record time. Giggles came to land on the roof, and the toil of the two trips seemed to be taking their toll on the Aerodactyl. Mai pulled him back into his Pokeball, making a mental note to reward the Pokemon afterwards. She waved off the grunts who'd greeted her, they'd been on standby in case the admin needed help subduing the boy.
"He came on his own free will, those won't be necessary," she snapped at one as she lashed out with her foot, making contact in the stomach of one grunt that'd made a lunge for Kilik. She lead him down into the base, which by now was quite familiar to both of them, and soon they stood at Giovanni's (thrice repaired) solid wooden office door.

Bill gazed at the two new Eevee before him. A smile crept upon his face as he recalled his passion for the pokemon and their forms. "Amazing so is that four Eevee now?" He laughed thinking of how fortunate Mag was to have that many since they are quite rare pokemon. "Yes that is my current count. Those two are related to eachother too." Mag smiled. "Just thought I'd say 'hi' again before I go challenge Misty to a gym battle."
"I see. Well I'd tell you to commence but I just heard that Saffron City had some sort of pokemon rampage happen there and a ton of people got hurt. A good trainer like you should go check it out and see if you can help." Bill said as an old video on the computer showed a large Steelix rampaging about as other pokemon attacked it.

Mike couldn't help but feel out of place in a city based entirely off of a Water Pokemon Gym. Walking along the sidewalks, he counted no less than thirteen water Pokemon, some of which he had never seen before. He did however see a Shellder, something that made him smile. "I wonder how Shiver is doing..." He asked no one in particular. All these Pokemon made him almost want to release Xanthos, just to let him mingle with his kin. But his brain kicked in and he decided against it. After all, the Crawduant would probably just go berserk and attack the nearest Pokemon. Mike made another mental note, this one was to teach Xanthos some manners.
Mike walked by a Pokemon Mart, not giving it a second though. All this talk about Xanthos made him a little frustrated, he was such a difficult Pokemon to have sometimes. "Wait!" Mike said as he skidded to a halt. He glared at Portabello, who was already walking inside the shop.
The Pokemon poked his head out, giving his trainer an almost matter-of-fact look at his trainer. What? I like shopping.
...
Browsing through the shop, Mike had picked out only two TMs and a few potions, as his wallet was feeling a bit light.
"TM 28 Dig and TM 18 Rain Dance? Oh, and 2 Potions? Will that be all?" The elder woman clerk said in a sweet soft voice. "That will be $4600."
"Yes ma'am!" Said the boy, fishing out his Gym earnings, happily placing them on the counter and exiting the shop.
Portabello had a big smile on his face, being surrounded by all that stuff made him feel happy for some odd reason. Master, you must win more battles so we can shop again.

Beacon sputtered, sticking out his tongue and snagging the disc from Mike's hand, his trainer was just happy he started chewing on the right one.
Wait, chewing?
"Bad Beacon!" Mike yelled as he snatched the machine from his demented Pokemon, placing it one his head like it was meant to be. Beacon made a loud 'whoop' noise as the information from the disc made its home in the vast abyss that is his brain.
"That's Rain Dance," Mike said as he placed the useless TM in his backpack. "It makes the weather change into, well rain."
The electric Pokemon looked confused, placing a flipper over his mouth, looking a few feet above his trainer.
"What is it Beaco-?" Mike's quandary soon faded as a miniature black cloud began dropping a small downpour on the trainer. He groaned, recalling his Pokemon.

Kilik looked at Mai and smiled. "Never thought I'd be back here again," he told her. He held out a hand and wrapped it around the handle. He turned and pushed the door open. Giovanni was sitting across the room, behind his desk with his fingers crossed with each other.
The man stood up, placing his hands on the desk. "Well done, Mai," He made a motion that meant that she was free to go. He walked over to Kilik and ushered him into the office, practically shoving him into the very comfortable chair that sat in front of his desk. Giovanni resumed his seat. "Although, Mai, you are welcome to listen in." Giovanni locked his fingers together in that, oh too familiar fashion, and leaned forward.
"Look," the boy began, imitating Giovanni's movement, "What is it that you want with me?"
"My boy, we're all friends here. No need to be hostile." The man noticed a slight lip twitch from Kilik that showed a bit of aggrivation on his part. Giovanni smirked, "I'd like to make a proposition for you."
Kilik blinked, however he did not move. "Really? And would that involve me joining Team Rocket again?"
Giovanni let out a slight chuckle. "Do you think this is a game, Kilik?" he asked. Without waiting for an answer, he continued, "This man, this Maorde Menskr. You battled with him and returned..." he was going to say 'unscathed', but that was clearly not the case, "Well, you returned alive." He stood up and placed his hands behind his back, walking over to the window that gazed down into the lab.
Kilik stood up and followed, standing with his hands limp at his sides and looking at his reflection in the window. He was looking very pale compared to the presence that Giovanni was demanding. "Yeah. Your point? You never answered my first question," he said, looking up at him.
Giovanni did not look at him. He continued staring into the lab. "In a way, yes. Though, in a way, no," the Rocket head sighed heavily (it sounded somewhat...depressed). "Kilik. The offer I'm making is this: Help Team Rocket stop Maorde Menskr the next time he appears. In return," Giovanni held out a hand for Kilik to take, "I will leave you and your friends in peace."
Kilik stared at his hand and took a step back. "You're bluffing," he growled.
"Gambling is about bluffing. But what you may think is a bluff," he cleared his throat, "isn't a bluff at all. Are you in or out, Kilik?"
The boy stared at his hand again. Everytime he got involved with the Rockets, something bad always happened to him. "I don't have to take orders from you?" Giovanni shook his head in reply, "And I'm not obliged to help Team Rocket in any other situation or mission you cook up for them?" The same reply came, "...Fine." Kilik extended his hand and took it in Giovanni's, shaking it fiercely.
"Very good, boy." Giovanni let go and headed back to his desk. He pulled out a crimson 'R' badge and held it up to him, "When we find Maorde, I will call you with this."
"Couldn't you just call my Nav?"
"Please. With that, I would have to call people one after another," Giovanni explained, "With this, one press of a button..." he pulled a remote from the drawer and pressed the button. There was a ringing noise and the button began to flash, "All Rocket-aides carrying these will be called."
"You mean..." Kilik took the badge and placed it in his pocket, "There's more than just me?"
"Remember Rena?" Giovanni raised an eyebrow, "She's agreed to help as well. Right now," he coughed, "I believe she's journeying the Hoenn region. But," he sighed again, "That is trivial. You've agreed. No backing out now."
Kilik nodded and headed for the office door. "Care to give me a ride to Goldenrod?" he asked Giovanni from over his shoulder. The Rocket head smirked.
"I'll have a helicopter for you on the roof as you leave."

The three bikers all stepped down upon seeing the other girls enter, it seemed they were still intimidated by Kasiya, and perhaps any friends she had as well. "Mitsu!" the girl cried, practically flinging herself at Mitsu. She began to sob incoherently, the only few words that were recognizable were "Saffron, death, destruction, and go." At one point, she managed to put Zyphyr's Great Ball into her friend's hand, still sobbing slightly. "I need to go back to Kanto," she said suddenly, wiping away her tears. "And I need to go right now." Her hands were shaking violently as she clipped Shocker and Hiro's Pokeballs onto her belt, and held onto Ariel's. She wanted to check and see if the Vaporeon was all right. The Vaporeon materialized before her, looking a little shaken, but otherwise fine. Kasiya bent down and kissed her on the forehead before she called her back to continue resting. She looked around almost frantically, as if she'd lost something. After a few moments of near-crazed pacing, the girl sat down on the edge of an end table, and began to sob once more.

Mitsu sat down Next to Kasiya after having clipped Zyphyr's Great Ball onto her belt. She pulled her friend into a gentle hug. "Calm down Kasiya," she said gently. "Need to get to Saffron?" Karri mused. I can't Teleport there since Mitsu hasn't been there, but maybe since Kasiya has.. "Kasiya," Karri began, "If you need to get to Saffron I think I may be able to bring you there." Mitsu blinked. "I haven't been to Saffron Karri," she said giving the Gardevior a confused look. "Kasiya has though. And I can always try," Karri replied. "So how about it Kasiya?"

Portabello took the momentary lapse in activity to continue his meditation, and was sitting on a sidewalk. Grass began to sprout in the cracks of the cement.
Meanwhile, Mike released his ever cheery Crawduant. Xanthos foamed bubbles as he took a whiff of the air. Looking around almost paranoid, he felt a bit of relief when he saw his trainer.
Mike couldn't be certain, but he swore he saw what was a gurgle of happiness when Xanthos saw him waving the TM like a dog treat. The Dark Pokemon scuttled sideways over to his trainer, bumping into his leg. He stopped his rather rude gesture when his trainer finally placed the disc on the crab's head. After absorbing all the information, Xanthos crushed the fallen disc under his foot as he always did.
Recalling Xanthos, Mike continued walking towards his destination, Portabello following close behind.
"To Mount Moon!"

Something big must've happened. . . That was all M.A. could really pull together as she watched Kasiya with bewilderment and concern; the Kasiya here, pacing the floors, was so much different from the Kasiya she first met, who had been smiling and confident. Again, the city Saffron came up -- whatever death and destruction she meant evidently must've been on TV for the other people to have mentioned it as well. And the disaster must've hit something (or someone) that was very dear to her.
Not exactly knowing what else to do, the girl moved to Kasiya's side, sitting down and giving a somewhat consoling pat. She didn't know what was going on, and she felt the sinking feeling that there wasn't much that she could do to help here or in Saffron, but would give any little comfort she could.
[edited] Hearing at least part of the conversation and assuming the rest must've been telekinetic, M.A. simply continued to sit there, still unsure of what was happening and what she was supposed to be doing, other than feeling very out of place. No, she couldn't help, not from the sounds of it. . . And if she came along somehow, she would most likely be a burden. Plus, if they were planning to teleport, an extra person would be more of a strain too. "I -- I should stay here," she said softly, trying to ease the tension with a little smile but failing miserably. Oh, how she wished there was something she could do for her newfound friends! So far in her journey, she hadn't been of any worth to anyone, she thought.

Kilik's hair was ruffled wildly from the wind kicked up by the spinning helicopter blades. The boy hopped into the chopper and sat down, putting the headset on. The hum from the blades became muffled and he heard a voice in his head. "Ready?" said the pilot. Kilik nodded in reply. The copter then was lifted into the air. Kilik could feel the nose dip as the pilot manuevered it towards the Johto region.
He leaned against the seat, crossing his arms over his chest. He couldn't believe what he had just agreed to. Although, the lives of millions was at stake. He had no other choice. He closed his eyes, waiting for the copter to land in Goldenrod.

Kanto was so different then Hoenn, everything seemed more spaced out, even the rocks had breathing room here. Mike took in a deep breath, happy to have a change of atmosphere. On the horizon he could see Mt. Moon, it's rather small made it seem like it was a small place, far from the truth. He had heard about Kasiya's troubles here, that making a trip seem even more exciting. With all this spacing out, he hadn't noticed that he had wandered into the tall grass. Master! Look out! Portabello mind screamed as he tackled the boy to the ground. Mike yelped, hitting his head on the ground rather harshly. He was about to yell at the Breloom when he caught glimpse of a flying purple streak. Mike stood up and brushed himself off, looking at the assailant. Wild Ekans Appeared! Level: 13 Attacks Wrap Leer Poison Sting Bite"A snake?" Mike said with a slight shudder. "Alright, bring it on!" Mike unclipped a Pokeball, releasing Napalm. The Magby looked at the Poison Pokemon, immediatly disliking it. He snorted a bit of smoke, ready for another fight. The Ekans coiled up, rearing it's head back and tasted the air with his tongue. A hiss escaped it's mouth as Mike felt another chill run down his spine.

Kasiya tried to thank M.A. and Mitsu for their kind concern, but it came out as a garbled whimper. She looked up into Karri's beautiful, ruby-red eyes, and nodded. The Psychic Pokemon had a good idea.
"Hold on a minute!" Simon's voice rang out. He walked up to Kasiya, and handed her what looked like a badge of sorts, as well as a card. "We're gonna make you an honorary member of the Kanto Federation. After all, you're from Kanto too, right?" At that, Kasiya nodded feebly. "Good then. We Kanto types gotta stick together, right gang?" The rest of the bikers all cheered, some of them having made their way inside the Pokemon Center. "If you're ever in trouble or need a favor, you know who to ask." And with that, the ragtag members of the Kanto Federation disappeared through the doors, and were gone.
Kasiya stared after them for a moment, before looking at the new 'badge.' She slipped the card into her pocket and pinned it to the front of her vest, on the right side, just under her collarbone. Having found her words again, Kasiya cleared her throat, and turned to M.A. "I'm sorry," she said sheepishly. "I'm not usually like this..." She twiddled her thumbs for a moment before speaking again. "Maybe we can hang out again in the future?" she asked brightly. "We could exchange phone numbers so that way we can contact each other whenever we want."

Kilik gripped his sleeve slightly as he waited. Occasionally, he would glance down at the ground below. Now, they were passing over where Kilik's father was: The Ruins of Alph. He half wanted to ask the pilot to drop him off here, but it was already too late. He sighed and waited a bit longer.
After another ten minutes, the Radio Tower of Goldenrod appeared. A smile spread across his lips. "Good," he whispered to nobody. The helicopter pulled a U-Turn and landed in the exact spot where Kilik had been taken from before he was brainwashed. Kilik hopped out of the copter and bidded the pilot farewell. He took a few steps back before watching the ghetto bird fly into the air and disappear into the distance. Now, two choices presented themselves to him. He could go north to Goldenrod and then to Ecruteak City, or he could go south through the Ilex Forest and to Azelea Town.
He tapped his foot and then turned away from Goldenrod, taking the second choice. As he walked, he released Elekid from his Pokeball. The small electric Pokemon smiled and ran up to Kilik's head, sitting in his usual spot. "Good to see you out," he laughed.
Elekid patted his head.
There's a Gym in Azelea. Bugsy is the leader... he thought, closing his eyes as he walked, nearly tripping over a rock. Everything was in order, then.
