Furious Charge doesn´t give much punch to normal terminator squads.
Well okay, you get S9 out of it, but that´s AFTER loosing like half of your
squad to orcs with choppas or khorne-berserks or any other close-combaneers.

Terminator Assault squad would greatly benefit from Furious Charge.
I mean, twin-lightning claws + S5 + I5 = Killer Combo.
And if accompynied by Chaplain = God´s of War.

Does anyone else think the 4 commanders for 2 Hq choices is stupid? You'd have to be using the commanders for multiple coompanies fluff-wise and this simply doesn't make sense.

Also Terminators can opt to "turn off" their powerfists and attack like normal marines, right? otherwise "furious assult" would be totally useless for them.

No 4 commanders would make sense, although 4 3 wound characters wouldnt ^^. A Commander has his second in command and all that bolony.

The lowest ranking commander you could get is a captain, and there's only one captain and chaplain per company, but I guess you could have multiple librarians or something.

Ooh, that would be pretty nasty for an assult squad. Put them in a crusader or somthing. pirate

But of course, the codex posses no restrictions of having one type of
commander in your army and to my theory:
an army that you posses logically posses some elements from different
companyes, like 3 Devastator squads from 3th, 5th and 7th company, etc.
It sounds more logical that way, rather then having a whole 1 specifig
company at your disposal.

Dark Angel´s is a good example of this multipal-company-army:
You have the main elements of the chapter: tac´s, dev´s, scouts and commanders, while also mostlikely posses some elements from the 1st and 2nd company, Deathwing Terminators and Dreadnoughts and/or
Ravenwings Bikes, attack bikes and land speeders.

So if you want to give a good look for your army, I would warmly suggest
an idea of having squads with different company badges.

Honestly? No.
Get a better image, the colour is messed up.
Don't say "Codex Dark Angels"
Also, I'd consider dropping the "Never forgive" thing.

I have to agree, that wasn´t the best looking DA logo I´ve seen.
You could switch it to one of the logo´s on GW´s website. 3nodding
And slogan was nice, why remove it? gonk

It's like combining two marketing schemes in one.

Like "The Real Thing Always" for Coke.

Everlasting Chaos

PostPosted: Mon Jul 31, 2006 9:28 pm

Can anybody tell me anything about the Red Scorpions? After reading the Anphellion Project I get the feeling they're basically part Tyranid...

The book you mentioned is the ONLY book with info on them at the moment. Please give the references that make you think this.

Well, let's see... Inquisitor Lord Varius is one of the people involved in an experiment in which the Red Scorpion's gene seed is being manipulated to make them more effective against the Tyranids. In one report he mentions altering it to make them "more resistant to the effects of the Hive Mind." Nobody knows what Chapter they originated from, and their Apothecaries are horribly a**l about not letting anyone touch their gene seed even for a simple examination. Nobody knows where their Battle Fortress is located either. The Red Scorpions have shown aboslutely no signs of corruption or mutation. During the Anphellion Project they were convienently on minor missions when large Tyranid strikes occured. At one point they go to rescue some of their bretheren who were in a downed Thunderhawk. The only reported death from that mission was that of a Dreadnought. They then returned to the main base while a massive Tyranid strike was occuring. Not only did they successfully get through the Tyranid lines without being attacked, but they killed something like 2 Carnifexi and a Scythed Heirodule, at which point the ENTIRE Tyranid force retreated. Note that this was a very large strike force, and they could easily have beaten the Imperials even with those three losses. Immediately after this the Red Scorpions evacuate Anphellion. Oh yeah, forgot to mention, some Harridans had struck the Imperial Landing Pad earlier. The Imperial Guard had lost all their Thunderhawks, while the Red Scorpions' transports were conveniently spared from the attack. Immediately after the Scorpions left the planet, the final Tyranid strike came which annihilated the remaining Imperials. There were only 3 reported casualties among the Scorpions. The Dreadnought, and two Terminators that were killed by Genestealers earlier. Oh, and also the Marines that were being rescued were out of ammo too. And yet they STILL survived a brutal Tyranid attack while losing only the Dreadnought.

wait, the hive mind effects people in the first place?
As for the lack of mutation stuff....
Tyranid spore chimenys can mutate people.
Chaos taint can mutate people.
Geneseed Degredation can mutate people. This is theoretically why blood angels are all nuts.
We can assume if they are a new chapter of nonspecified geneseed, their line may be a little "fresher" from geneseed degredation and so has less impurities in it.

However the rest IS very curious.
