Earendil smiled back, then stepped forward and hugged Lin and Miyuki together. "I'll be waiting," he murmured softly into her ear.
Then he stepped back and waved. "Bye, Miyuki!" he grinned at the child. "See you again soon enough!"

That made her feel giddy inside for some reason, Lin smiled, "Bye..."
"Bye?" Miyuki looked between her mother and her Earendil.
But before she could protest they were through the portal and back into the world known as Gaia.
