She followed him, looking at the forest as he did. "Tutsumi isn't here. No one is. ...No one who belongs here, anyway."
She noticed the ping, too, and her eyes narrowed as they fixed on the fog.

He remained where he was, frozen in place, watching the fog. He was tense, waiting for something to happen. He narrowed his eyes. "I believe we're about to find out who it is that's not supposed to be here.." He said, as the fog rolled closer to the dojo.

She moved to stand beside him, not visibly tense, but still reacting to the feeling in the air. "Good. I need to try my new attacks on someone who I know won't concede on purpose."

He nodded softly, slowly moving his hands behind his back. He moved his jacket, pulling two kunai from his belt. He narrowed his eyes, then took a step back, pulling the doors shut quickly. "I really don't like this." He said, looking around as the fog surrounded them.
Seph ducked seconds later, as a kunai knife shot in from the fog, plunging into the wood where his throat was. An instant later, he heard the sound of hundreds of knifes burying themselves in the doors and wall behind them.

In all this fog...
She heard the kunai as well, ducking and shifting to avoid them, though a few scraped and scratched her, if she moved too slowly. She dropped to one knee on the wood of the porch and touched it with one hand. It had been a long time since she'd actually had to use Tsuchi power. She hoped she still could.

Seph closed his eyes and rolled to his right, in Nyl's direction. Veins drew up around his eyes, and his pupils became milky white. He looked around. The fog, to him, was no longer visible. In it's place were infinate strands of chakra. His jaw dropped, and he quickly dropped the jutsu and looked towards Nyl. "I can't see who's causing this. The fog is made of chakra." He remained low and reached up, catching a second kunai in his left hand. He now had three. He stuffed the enemy kunai in his belt and closed his eyes. "See if you can blow the fog away, Nyl." He had to speak loudly, over the constant barrage of rocks and knives over their heads.

"The fog being made of chakra hides us, too. They obviously don't know we're not still standing. Blowing it away could make it worse for us."

He nodded a bit. "That's a good point. But a stalemate is pointless. They have a much larger target, and we have no idea how many there are out here." Took a few steps forward as a kunai stuck right next to his foot. He blinked some, then sighed, relieved. He looked out through the fog. "If they came prepared, then there should be ground forces on there way here right now. They've stopped attacking low. It's like they're aiming for the roof, now. Nyl, we've gotta do something, and it's gotta be done fast."

She nodded, wondering if he could even see her, then stood again, using the wind to both blow away the fog and keep the flying kunai away from her.

He stood slowly, readying the kunai in his hands for the worst. He had already performed a jutsu on both the knives in his hands. Upon contact, they would explode with the force of a landmine. He strafed closer towards Nyl, to cover her. He rose his hands as the fog cleared. He blinked some, looking around. "What the.." He blinked, the veins reappearing around his eyes. He was met with a sole figure lightening everything around him, and it wasn't who he expected. The only form that held chakra, as the fog fluttered away was Nyl. He dropped the jutsu and made his way back to the porch. "There's no one out there.."

Nyl dropped her hands, the wind returning to just a soft breeze, and looked around.
"...You're right. ...But I didn't make it. And neither did you."

Seph looked around once more. Then, satisfied, reopened the door and stepped inside, crossing his arms in thought. "I'm not satisfied with that, though. It seems odd that someone would attack with such ferocity, then simply leave when we try to unmask them." He reached around to his belt, searching for the kunai. It was no longer there. He searched frantically. Then, his eyes widened. He ran back to the porch. "..You heard all those knives hit the dojo, right?"

"Of course I did. A handful of them hit me, too..." She glances at her arm, where she felt one scratch her, but there's nothing there. Her sleeve isn't even torn. "..."

He closed the doors immediately, then locked them. From the look on her face, she knew what he was going to say. "Nyl... We're not.. dreaming, are we?"

She considers this.
"I doubt it. People in my dreams don't usually ask such self-aware questions. ...But there's no evidence of anything that just happened. Maybe it was an illusion of some kind?"
