Fixed-up adventure mode FTW. This looks awesome, especially the notion of cutscenes. And all the new baddies. EDIT: And, the movie is jaw-dropiin' bleed-pantsin' good.

Wow, that update was a blowout. Just amazing. After an hour, I got the video to work. I can't say I recognize most of the enemies in the screenshots, though. (Spelled that screenshits at first. XD) Is this Adventure Mode, or is this one of a series of Adventure Modes? They really don't make it very obvious. Anyway, I did look up the word, because I really had never heard it. Dictionary.com em·is·sar·y –noun 1. a representative sent on a mission or errand: emissaries to negotiate a peace. 2. an agent sent on a mission of a secret nature, as a spy. 3. Anatomy. sending or coming out, as certain veins that pass through the skull and connect the venous sinuses inside with the veins outside. I believe it's going to be number one or two. xd Perhaps the emissary is Meta Knight. Then what is he doing dropping all these robots? Furthermore, why is he dropping all these robots? Is he even flying the Halberd? What's going on? How does this entail all of the other characters? Is everyone trying to stop him? Stop him from what? Do they know? Regardless, the screens, whether they be in game or not, look great, and so do the cutscenes. All I noticed were Kirby's jaggies, and that's no huge deal. The Hammer Brother enemy leads me to believe that perhaps the assist trophies will be reprogrammed as enemies in this mode. Perhaps we'll even get a Bullet Bill cannon assist trophy. I'm really interested to see how this will all unfold, because at the moment, we really have no idea. Yoshi with Link, Kirby and Zelda with Mario and Peach. Pit at the top of a tower meeting Paletuna. Zero Suit Samus in a Metal Gear Solid area? An Arwing fleeing from the Halberd? And what's up with these queer looking robots? Who are they from? What is going on!? I'm used to just being set down on a stage, and then fighting people. Cutscenes in Smash Brothers? This is madness. Edit: It seems like the people at Nintendo sat down and tried to think of how to please some fans. Nintendo: So we've got this fan, here. Nintendo: Yes, him. Nintendo: For him, let's make Meta Knight a very important character, put the Halberd in as a centerpiece for Adventure Mode, and add the DK Bongos as DK's final smash.

So, this trailer is actually kind of strange now that I can think straight, after going "OMGOMGOMGOMG." I'm watching it pretty much frame by frame (by which I mean, clicking pause and play repeatedly. XD)
-When the Halberd is first seen from the side, I thought that perhaps there was someone on top of it. Bowser or Meta Knight, there on the side with the orange and silver. After checking IGN's screenshots, I can confirm that this is a gun on the Halberd, and not a character.
-When Peach floats in, Mario for a second looks up Peach's skirt. He never moves his eyes, so his eyes trail up her body as she falls.
-Kirby also directly looks up Peach's skirt.
That's all I've got of interest. xd I never really saw the figures in the clouds before, but I would imagine that the picture was just a screenshot from this video anyway, so maybe we'll have some cloudgazers tell us what they see. The video is kind of odd or badly made, though, because while it gets us all hyped, it's pretty slopped together or random.
Mario and Kirby shake... hands. Crowd cheers. Halberd comes, craps out purple crap. Crap forms robots that appear to have duck bills. I will call them billbots duckbots. There are a lot of duckbots. Peach and Zelda are there, who knows why, and then have to appear next to Mario and Kirby in a show offy fashion. They all pose. The end.
Then the screenshots of Adventure Mode really don't have much to do with the update, from what I could see. I wanted to see some in game of fighting the monsters.

I was little worried to about putting character development and full-fledged plot in SSBB, but as long as it has the a**-kicking melee action we all know and love, I think it will still turn out great.
I'm really excited now. This is probably the best update since the announcement of the release date.

It's all very epic, that's what I think. It seems like all the fighters are working together to battle the evil enemies, to gain their freedom or something like that. Depending on who you play as, you might take different routes, or gain different allies, awesome. I also noticed on that image where Samus is charging her blast, that the enemy "duckbot" is charging a blast in the exact same manner. So perhaps the duckbots mimic your fighter, or a fighter? I can't wait to play if myself and find out.

Why are they called "duckbots", dare I ask?
Also, I wonder if the story is going to be different depending on what character you're playing... *Shrug*
