All the rumours I've heard up until now point to it being in the $75-100 range. Which means I'm filling all my... whatever slot they're going to put it in(I think they're giving a Super Heavy slot in the up-and-coming, rumoured Armeggedon Codex) with 'em.

I really do hope it costs in that range. It's an expensive purchase to be sure, but much more affordable than the thrice-cursed (in terms of cost) FW items. WHich are still awesome, just money-burning good.

I love the way they've tried to make it look like some sci-fi thriller movie. Clip....clip....clip....date. All we're missing is the clank of chains every time a new image is shown.

I might not end up going because of complications with getting a ride.(mine is a filthy liar and there are no others...) but if I do end up going I will try and pick up as many as I can. Especially since FG claimed they were only releasing them at the big AI release at some thing in Britain.

Especially since FG claimed they were only releasing them at the big AI release at some thing in Britain. well if all else fail my friend is rnning the 40k scale AI event a chicago games day so he should be able to grab me one. If not him then possible a host of other people as I try to make deals for one

Just wondering, has anyone here tried playing an Armoured Company?
I'd like to know how effective (and fun) it is to do. Originally, I didn't like tanks, and didn't really want to include any in my army, However, that was before I got some. mrgreen

Xenos Mortium Just wondering, has anyone here tried playing an Armoured Company? I'd like to know how effective (and fun) it is to do. Originally, I didn't like tanks, and didn't really want to include any in my army, However, that was before I got some. mrgreen from what I hear they work pretty damn well, but I've never seen one in action. I'm sure it must be pretty intresting.

Question.
I saw int he imperial guard codex the entry for a infantry platoon and it looks like this.
Infantry Platoon
2-5 Infantry Squads...... 60 pts + Weapons + Upgrades
Now my friend says that means that the entire platoon costs 60 points.
That makes NO sense to me and it is too late to call Direct services, so I figured an inquiry here wouldnt help.
How the hell does it work??

maybe this has been asked before but....
does the imperial guard take only men? they would be eliminating half of there potential candidates if they maintained a sexist policy like that. not that the imperium is known for enlightened thinking...but they do have a sense of practicality to them and when it comes to firing a gun or operating a tank it doesn't really matter what gender they are.

The valhallans use women all the time (since they're based on the Russian army of WWII) and I belive the catachans will use any woman who can prove her worth (one of the catachan models is woman wielding a grenade launcher) there's a few other examples out there but I don't remember them all. The intresting thing about the Imperium is that there are no unified social rules established for all it's citizans. Every planet has it's own society and unique way of living.

How the hell does it work?? you need to have in a platoon: 1 Command section with a junior officer as it's leader (look at the HQ section, it's just like a regualar command squad but for a platoon instead of the whole army) 2-5 infantry squads that cost 60 points EACHthe cheapest a platoon can be is 180 points- a junior officer and 4 bodyguards for the command section and 2 squads of 10 men. tell you friend he's wrong, acording to his logic a single guardsman is only one point!! if i could get 1500 guardsmen in a single game then i'd win everytime.
