"Ah, these are the only spare clothes I have, can I borrow some of your sweats? I guess I forgot to pack while making face at Andy's party." and gave a small groan, eating some more popcorn. "You'd think I would've remembered." and sighed, eating a few more pieces as his friend described what the family dressed up as. "They're so adorable." Tim cooed, taking the phone to get a closer look. "I love family costumes like this! They are all so adorable, Daren. I love it."

Daren nodded, "they really look good, don't they?" he put his phone away and got up to grab the movies he'd set aside for the night, "take your pick." he handed them over , staying standing so that he wouldn't have to stand back up with Tim chose. "sounds like quite the party, your welcome for giving you an excuse to escape." he winked at Tim and took the movie he chose to the player, "i see you as someone who will adopt some day. find yourself a good partner and settle down, maybe with Jason." he sat down and smiled, "then you guys can do family costumes as well."

"It's Halloween so we need to watch something scary or with lots of gore." Even though Tim absolutely hated those sorts of movies but it was Halloween so he made an exception. "Let's watch Saw." He paused though, wondering if it'd be triggering for him or Daren. It shouldn't be... "Actually, hm, The Grudge looks like an easy start into a horrifying night." And moved to put it into the DVD player, pausing remembering she was trapped in small spaces, and Tim had actually been locked in a closet once... "It should be fine." He'd be too busy trying not to be scared anyway, and if him or Daren got too triggered they could stop it and put in 50 First Dates or something. "Ah! Don't say that, Daren! I don't want to scare Jason off. We've only been dating for three months at most, we're still in that honeymoon phase of dating. It's waaay to early to talk about marriage and adoption." he made a face at Daren before going to grab a blanket, sitting down right against Daren's side once more and covering them both, shoes being kicked off so Tim could prepare himself to hide behind his knees. "Plus Halloween is always a busy night for him, someone always goes too far with their tricks. That's what he told me anyways." and hid behind his knees, blanket over his nose as he watched the opening sequence. "If I scream I'm sorry." he mumbled, moving Daren's arm around him for further protection. Maybe he was taking advantage of this man, but it felt nice... and they were friends. Friends totally did this. He'd done this with Andy plenty of times. Though him and Andy would cling and scream with each other. "Hm, I think, while I want kids, I'd sort of be okay without any? I'd be sad but maybe it'd be for the best, y'know? Abused people end up abusing their kids."

Daren let Tim get close, he would have done the same for anyone when they were watching a scary movie. he himself didn't tend to get scared by these, his life had been scary enough they just didn't affect him in that way. if he could help Tim through it, he would."Not everyone wants kids," he said softly, running his hand through Tim's hair and rubbing the top of his head. "or they could be the best parents in the world. it wasn't your moms that abused you, and that is where the difference lays. you had a loving, kind home and you would provide that for your children as well. people abused by their parents don't know any different and fall back on that when they are at a loss."

Tim's eyelids lowered at the head petting, enjoying the sensation. "The therapist says I have latent violent tendencies. Considering our last session I threw my mug at her I don't doubt it anymore. I don't want to explode on a child unfortunate enough to have me as a parent, regardless of how my own raised me." and nuzzled deeper into the man, "My parents also controlled every aspect of my life, and I don't want to do that to them either. Either way, I think it'd be best if I don't have children." he reached out of his blanket to grab the popcorn bowl, nibbling on a few more pieces. "I think Jason is the only one out of us who would be a great parent. With his fiance they were in the process but... I think he'd be a great dad. You would be too a little bite," and looked up, offering some popcorn, "You already know the difference between right and wrong, and you always have your family to help you when things get rough. Me, well my parents will teach my kid to pick locks and probably forge checks." and laughed.

Tim's words were a bit close to home. he almost had been a parent, once, so very long ago. he'd lost that chance, it had died in his arms with him helpless to do anything about it. "don't know about that," he said with a shrug as he watched the movie, "of the two of us, i think i might be the one with the worst track record. maybe neither of us are fit to be parents." he grabbed a snickers and started to eat, "Jason really would be a great dad. haven't spoken with him much or anything, but he just seems the type." he frowned a little at the mention of a fiance, "he was going to get married? when did that happen?"

"If that's the case we should probably never get married, either. We'll just live with each other like the Golden Girls. i wonder who'd be our third Golden Girl... Andy?" And thought on this, eating a bit more popcorn, nodding at Daren's question. "He had a fiance before me, but from what I've heard from the nurses, he hasn't told me anything, his fiance died of cancer, I think. They were in the process of adopting but Jason had to drop the papers because his fiance died. I don't know how much of it is accurate, but that's what the nurses mentioned when I was at the hospital." and continued to eat, looking back up at his friend. "Why do you always make popcorn when I come over? Are you trying to fatten me up?" A subtle, lighter change in topic.

Daren could relate to Jason, though seeing your loved one slowly dying over months would be far worse, at least in his mind. "you're still too skinny," he said, poking Tim's side, the movie forgotten. "so yes, i'm trying to make you an actual human size instead of stick skinny. got a problem with that?"

"Aahh! That's not true! You've seen my abs and you saw me in my baseball uniform!" He exclaimed, poking Daren's sides, "Have you seen yourself? you're the skinny stick! Right here, and here, and here." and continued poking before the woman on the screen screamed, Tim screaming and falling flat against the couch, throwing the blanket over him and peeking out and sitting up against Darren again, clinging to the blanket and the tanned arm with fright before looking down, opening his mouth and gently biting. "An thkinny righ' here."

Daren couldn't help but grin at Tim's reaction, dodging the poking fingers as best he could. "you've caught me, i work out because without the muscle i'm nothing but a stick." Tim's scream made him look at the screen for a split second before a flurry of movement had him looking back at his friend and laughing. "you ok?" Tim tried to cover it by taking a bite, but he couldn't help but laugh harder, "we can watch something else if you don't like scary. i've some old movies that are halloween and good but not scary."

"Stop laughing! It's scary!" he exclaimed, having let go of the man's arms before shaking his head. "We're watching it! I only watch scary movies on Hallo--" And screamed again, slouching and hiding, clinging to the man arm, practically bringing it down over his chest, not caring the hand was resting in the dip between his thighs and pelvis. "We're watching it. We're watching it." he murmured to himself. And all throughout the movie he grew more intense, telling the characters not to do it and yelling as they did it and screaming as he was frightened. He went from Daren's arm to his torso to managing to crawl behind him and stare at the screen, trembling, the blanket all twisted and turned at this point. When the movie was over Tim collapsed onto Daren's lap, having shifted again before doing so. "that was so stressful. Why did you let me do that?"

Daren let Tim manuver himself, shifting Daren as needed, and endured the screams. god, Tim was the total opposite of himself, but it was cute in a way. he could understand guys taking girls to scary movies now. the movie ended with a lap full of Tim and Daren lifted his hands in the surrender position, "don't look at me! i suggested we stop half an hour in!" he shook his head and gently lifted Tim off his lap, heading to the player to put Hocus Pocus in, know that this one would be fine. "no more scary movies."

"You're supposed to be scared on Halloween! i've eaten my entire bowl of popcorn! And you've eaten majority of the candy!" and sat there before chuckling to himself. "I must have screamed your ear off I'm so sorry, Daren. I guess a nicer movie is good, it saves your ears." and sighed, staying in his curled position and resting against Daren when he came back. "I haven't seen Hocus Pocus in so long. Since I was in high school."

Daren shook his head, "sad. this is a classic! i watch it every year, next is halloweentown, love that movie!" he sat back down and hit play, ready to enjoy a good, old fashion, hoxy movie. "need more popcorn?"

Tim shook his head at the question of more popcorn, settling in against his friend and watching the movie. And they continued to watch movies until Tim begged for one more scary one. Saw was not the best idea for a scary one. By the end Tim was so horrified he'd literally lost color in his face and was just sitting there, tightly holding onto himself. "I don't want to sleep." he whispered, having been to horrified to scream at all during the movie.
