San removed a scroll as they entered the large practice field sized room. He handed the scroll to the little girl, and motioned for her to read through it.
"Genjutsu huh? Deception and theatricality are powerful tools to the uninitiated. Use those well, and your genjutsu almsot become real. In this scroll are several of the known medical techniques, for your level of course. go through and tell me which ones interest you, and i can help you as best i can."

Kumiko took the scroll San handed her, nodding to him as she opened it up and revied all the lowest level techniques she could learn. A few did catch her eye that she thought every medic shinobi should have in their arsenal. Though she did make a mental note to ask her tutor more about which techniques she should focus on depending on which route of the jutsu she wished to take. After a brief minute of review, the genin looked back towards San. "I'd like to go over the first three defensive Eiseijutsu techniques if that's alright with you, Professor. If I wanted to learn almost all defensive techniques, would that go well with genjutsu?" Kumiko asked the man, still holding onto the scroll. "What would you reccomend, Professor?"

San gave a chuckle. He coudlnt remember the last time someone had willingly asked him his opinion about combinations and stuff like that. They all just kinda went and did their own thing, and the Professor would have to shake their foundations every once and a while. A true warrior kept everyone off balance.
"Well what you have to remember is that in all things, have no preference. Have no preference to any distance of combat, any particular skill you may utilize, any particular method of attack/defense you may see as powerful and effective. Remember that for every technique you train, you enemy is training just as hard to find a counter to your skill. So it is not at all times best to be defensive, because the old adage "the best defense is a good offense" is also certainly true. If you remember from the academy, the principles of Yin and Yang, this is certainly a time that it is applied."
Hopefully this answered the young girls question. When she asked about the techniques, to refresh his memory about order, san ran his hand over the ink on the page, seeing as he hadnt seen in most of his lifetime, to read the text.
"Hmm....if i may make some edits to your request. Personally, i would learn diagnose, cleanse, and power of resistance. James has alwasy spoken very highly of thos skills, and many of them have led him to create his own improved versions of them. When his is back from his...assignment..... you should defiantly hit him up about some of our medical skills. He is a good mind to ask about."
San would then lay down on the ground, and begin to speak to the young girl.
"focus your chakra into you hands, and hover them over my body, like a microspcope looking into all the parts of my body. See if you can find any ailments, issues, or if my body is at homeostasis."

The bells could be heard a few moments before she could be seen making the turn into the university. Akia had several hundred bells woven into her clothing, and every step took a light tinkling of metal could be heard in the room. She was a new genin, fresh from the academy, and returning on instruction from her previous sensei. She moved with a fair bit of grace and had a smile on as she made a stop at the information dest. The platelets in her clothing caught the light and sent little distortions of rainbows on the walls in various places. She had golden bangles on her wrists that seemed a bit loose. She was the genin that had gotten held back a year or so in the academy due to her issue with molding chakra through normal handseals. The bells were her known catalyst but the instructors made sure she could do both before they allowed her to leave. "I was told to return here today to be sorted?"

While San was busy with instruction (maybe they could train together!) a san clone would magically appear out of his office to look at this massive amount of noise that was comming from the entrance way. He first thought it was a bunch of kids having way to much fun.....and then he noticed it was a soon to be gennin. Even behind his blind fold, his facial expression was obvious.
" O.o o.O"
Um.....the clone would check his mental files of all graduating ninja, and remembered the most peculiar ninja...Aika. This would be interesting.....
Aika turned toward the voice and nodded taking a step toward the man. "That seems entirely probable. I was told to come back to the academy at this time for further instruction after my graduation ceremony." She said raising both her arms slightly in the I'm not sure pose before relaxing. She wasn't sure to make of the facial expression. The bells didn't ever seem that loud to her. She pushed it from her mind either way and focused on the new information.

San pondered a few possibilities, and then went into his office and came back with a headband.
"Well here you go. i would go and grab your scrolls from the library (but do mind the librarian...she can be cranky at times) and report back here for training. if you wish...please grab me some ramen while your out."
"Got the coin? This isn't exactly a date...umm?" She paused letting the question hang in the air. She wasn't really sure of his name. She took the headband however and tied it loosely around her neck for the moment.

Kids these days. Didnt they know it was customary to bring their teachers a present every once in a while? I mean they did unlock their hidde potential and improve their lives significantly. eh, no matter, fishing into his pocket san handed over a few ryo.
"Name is Sanshi. You can call me San, or the Professor...which is what some students opt to call me as well. Now hurry along now"
"Sounds fine then. Any particular kind Sir?" She asked in a polite voice, counting the coin to make sure he didnt give her too much. She was broke herself, having not a ryo to her name at the moment. Once she got her first paycheck from a mission she'd be able to go out on her own and buy things. She wanted to make at least a decent impression if this was to end up her overseer for while she was a genin.
Kumiko listened to the words that San had began to speak to her, though it was difficult to control herself at times like this. It seemed like defensive was the best way to go now since it's not like someone her age was ever going to dream of beating up an adult. Not with luck anyway. But she was a medical shinobi, and they were always full of tricks, both defensive and offensive, which was always a nice bonus.
"I'll remember that, Professor. Thank you." The child bowed her head respectfully before San told her about what he believed she should focus on first, the three still basic techniques of Diagnose, Cleanse and Resistance. The more San spoke of this James character, the more Kumiko began to wonder if she could try and find him on her own when he came back from his mission. the way San spoke of him made him seem like one of the best at his trade. "I'll try my best." Was all Kumiko said when it was time to begin.
San lied down and gave her instructions on the first technique: Diagnose. After listening to instructions, the small genin placed her hands over San's body before focusing her chakra into her hands as he said to do. It took a couple of tries to get it correct, but then after a while, Kumiko managed to see inside San's body at looked around for any issues with his bodily functions, which she found none. "I-i think I did it, Professor. I can't find anything really wrong with your body."

"Dealers choice. just make sure it has some form of good protein in it. If you ask the lady there, they susually know what i like. and you can earn some browny points in the process. have fun!"

San smiled and gave a nod. It was an impressive feat that he, at his age had no horrible deformities and weaknesses due to a long and dramatic time as a suna ninja. But that was cause he had a few tricks up his sleeve as well.
"Good, the next trick is to learn how to clense. Use your chakra again to disinfect a wound, or at least clean it out. Here!"
Performing a quick summoning jutsu, san summoned a little kodiak bear who had just gotten a thorn stuck in its paw. It was a miniscule wound, but it was still a good one to practice on.
"Give it a try!"

Aika gave a polite bow and walked out of the university to go grab a few bowls of whatever the vendor thought San would like. Each step left a light and pleasant sounding tinkle of small bells as she moved out of view. Mostly due to sunlight making her hard to look at once outside. She went out of line of sight shortly thereafter.
Kumiko stepped back to allow San room to get back on his two feet, waiting patiently as he did while the young genin rocked back and forth on her feet. After listening to the next set of directions, Kumiko watched as he performed a summoning jutsu and then summoned a whimpering bear with a small thorn embedded in its paw. Feeling bad for the animal, even if it was just an illusion perhaps, Kumiko got to work as she made her way towards the small bear, holding her hands out as she then concentrated on removing the bacteria from where the thorn was located after quickly pulling out the small annoyance. It was a bit more tricky than the previous technique, but still was easy enough to learn how to do.
