Riyo smiled at the praise, feeling proud of herself but not openly admitting it. As the food was set down, she promptly grabbed a couple of things to munch on, setting the pencil down at the more than welcome food break.
Standing up to follow Yuki as he peered at the door, Riyo stuck her head out to see the ruckus, though she wouldn't put her food down. "I wanna go see what's going on." A long break from her studies wouldn't be a bad thing, after all.
Atticus, however, had no interest in leaving. Probably nobody he or Riyo knew anyways. Certainly wasn't Jessee, that lazy ********. "I'll be here if you need me." He said loud enough to be heard.

Saying her goodbyes to Mitsu and Atticus for now, Hitsu was quick to go back to Branca's side eagerly. Once everyone who was going to go had gathered around they were on their way, with Hitsu practically skipping as they went.
Yuki seemed anxious, but tried not to show it. He was mulling over a list of names in his head. Who it could be, if from their village. Most of those he considered were surely too young to try to make such a journey even in a pair... Others, the desert probably would have killed them before they got this far.
Neither of them expected who they saw when they arrived at Hakim's palace. To top it off, their reactions to this were completely opposite of one another.
"Deacon!?" Hitsu had shouted in disbelief, before running to close the distance between them. She quite literally collided with him in a hug, wrapping her arms around the tabby who had outstretched his arms in anticipation of such a response.
"Hey, Hitsu." Deacon purred, hugging her to him with a smile. The attitude present before with Hakim was gone. Chased away... Or hidden. Deacon took her gently by the shoulders and pulled the two of them apart to have a look at her, grinning. "Couldn't just dream about adventures, hmm? Had to finally go for one."
It was about this time that Yuki had stalked his way over, looking anything but pleased. While Deacon was distracted with Hitsu, Yuki drew back a fist and threw a punch square into the tabby's jaw. This caused Deacon to release a startled Hitsu and stagger a few steps, one hand to his cheek.
"What the <********> kind of 'hello' was that!?" He demanded, looking at Yuki with a dangerous glare.

Arriving to the palace, Blade blinked at the two cats, not recognizing either of them. However, it seemed that Hitsu knew the tabby rather well as she rushed forth to give the guy a hug. Smiling softly, he figured that her earlier assessment of some of the villagers coming to find them was true.
However, he soon questioned this as Yuki decked the guy in the face. The thief glanced over towards Riyo, wondering if she had any idea of what was going on there.
Hakim raised a brow at the two different greetings. Rubbing his head, he shook his head and turned towards Deacon.
"Are you sure you're here to see that they've payed for damages?" he asked with amusement, "And Yuki, strike him again, and I'm going to have to have Branka restrain you. We've no need for violence here.. That goes for you as well."
The second part was aimed at the new tabby. As nice as it was to see a little reunion between Hitsu and the one known as Deacon, he was a little wary of this newcomer. His previous attitude before the group had come along had him wondering what his motives were here exactly. Hakim would give him a chance of course, but he was going to keep a careful eye on him for awhile in the very least.

Poke had followed the group to the palace, looking around at it's splendor before she set eyes on the two newcomers. To her, they just looked like a bunch of cats. But hitsu was happy to see them, so it was all good
Until yuki had done a hay maker on the guy. Eyes had gone wide, she watched the guy demand what th ehell just happened, and she herself wanted to know what the hell he was doing. This wa yuki, who would do anything to avoid a fight, and here he went and punched a guy
She also had to bite her tongue back from shouting out 'sweet punch!' as she was pretty sure hitsu would not appreciate it

Once to the palace, Neko was in disbelief of who had found them. That disbelief was slowly covered with disgust. While Yuki and Hitsu went to greet their fellow feline in their own unique ways, Neko stayed back with the rest of the group. "Would have been better for the rest of us if the desert had claimed him." He muttered darkly, not really speaking loud enough to be overheard unless someone was close. From his facial expression it was apparent he didn't like the tabby, though there were multiple reasons behind it.
When the rest of the group left, Mitsu's attention on her sandwich was suddenly sad. Getting up from her seat on the couch she moved over toward Atticus and quietly took a seat next to him so she could be close to someone at the moment. Curiously her eyes traced over the work Riyo had done taking in the different words carefully. She hadn't really demonstrated she could read or write...she obviously couldn't read the letter that had been sent to her from the mantis but it was in a strange language no one seemed to know around here. But her eyes seemed to hold a manner of understanding as she looked over the page.

As Riyo followed behind the group quietly, her mind wandered around the city instead of who they were going to meet. Honestly, she had no idea. Therefore there was no use pondering over it. Yeah, she could ask everyone else... But most of them seemed just as clueless.
Upon their arrival, Riyo couldn't help but watch Yuki and Hitsu from afar as each of them 'traded greetings' with somebody they obviously knew. "Who're they?" Riyo asked aloud, realizing that one of them was named Deacon, but still having no clue as to why they were significant to the other felines.
Then a thought struck her. What if these two were from the village Hitsu, Yuki, and Neko came from? What if they had traveled all this way to bring them back? Then their wayward little family would be torn asunder. The thought made her heart clench, though she made no outward gestures to alert that anything was wrong.
As the crowd left to meet some unidentified strangers, Atticus gave a short wave before removing his pipe from the pocket inside his suit. The raven said nothing as the girl approached or sat down, but her actions caught his attention and struck him as odd. Most of the time Mitsu acted like a clueless child, so the thought that she could read never struck him. "Can you understand that?" Atticus asked, striking a match to get his smokin' on.

It took a lot of Deacon's already-low self control to keep from returning Yuki's punch. Later, he mentally noted, he'd give that boy another lesson he wouldn't soon forget. As Hakim scolded Yuki, Deacon took a moment to make sure none of his teeth were loose.
Once that was accomplished, confirming that there was no blood or tooth loss, he glared toward Yuki and lipped a single word to him that had Hitsu flinging herself between them to keep any further violence from happening.
Hitsu shoved a seething Yuki away a few feet, back toward their friends with an apologetic look to them. "Sorry... Uhm... This is a friend from our village."
"He lost that title!" Yuki protested, glaring back over to the tabby who was wearing a smug grin.

Watching everything go along, Blade furrowed his brow as he was getting two very different messages between Hitsu and Yuki. Though, Neko didn't seem all too pleased to see this Deacon either so it seemed that the general consensus was that this wasn't a real friendly guy.
Rubbing his head as he listened to everyone, Hakim was getting a general idea of what was going on here. But it did definitely seem that a few of the members knew of this feline, though the exact relationship was a bit questionable.
"What were the exact reasons for you to seek out the group, Mr. Deacon?" asked the dragon, "If the group allows it and there is no actual conflict, you may be welcome to stay with them during their stay here."

Even though hitsu seemed to be happy with this guys presence...Poke wasn't so sure about how 'good' this guy was. Glancing about told her neko didn't seemed impressed, and yuki defiantly wasn't. Plus, she was getting a feeling that..she really wouldn't like this guy.
"You wanna fill us in on why he 'lost the title?' poke asked yuki as he approached them, noting the tabby's grin with a slight frown.

To say Neko was displeased to see Deacon was an understatement. He was probably closer to downright pissed the tabby was still alive and kicking. "I don't know that you'd really call him so much a friend as the pest that keeps showing up. Like a fly that just won't go away." Neko's detest to Deacon was no real secret, but it seemed it had built up to a point it was boiling over now that he had seen the tabby for the first time in so long.

Looking over the words on the page Mitsu placed her finger under one of the sentences Riyo had written, not putting a whole lot of thought into what she was saying. "Who the ******** is Sally." She said a little hesitantly but smiled immediately after as if proud of herself. Picking up the pencil the feline abandoned Mitsu started to write out something but the letters or symbols rather were strange and foreign, almost ancient looking. This is what she had grown up reading a lot of. It was one of the few things Suto had to supply her.

"Stay?" Yuki had bellowed in response to Hakim, clearly against the idea completely and entirely. Though, before he could show the Elder any more disrespect, he met Hitsu's glare. Biting his tongue, he said nothing more. If they got booted out of the city, they'd be back in the desert with no direction or water.
"Later." Yuki had replied to Poke hastily, with a clear tone of resentment. "When I've got time to tell it all."
Deacon looked a bit disturbed to be called 'Mister' judging by the look he gave the dragon in response, inwardly trying to keep a snappy comeback in check if only for the time being... Yuki had to sleep sometime.
"You heard her," Deacon jerked a thumb toward Hitsu. "Been looking for these two... They've been missing for a while." He spared a half-assed glance at Neko, overhearing the pest comment yet still holding his tongue for now. "Him too."
Meanwhile, Caleb was ever-so-carefully shuffling his way toward the others. Perhaps, with the hope that there would be better safety in numbers... Or, generally better safety away from Deacon.

Nearly another week had passed allowing the group to gather supplies and allowing their new 'comrades' time to rest. It seemed tension was high when it came time to leave and it was a wonder if they were being escorted out or kicked out. Everything went fairly smoothly considering and once again the group found themselves traveling out in the desert following Hakim's directions to avoid traveling in the heat too long and to avoid the slave traders. At least their wagon was well supplied this time with food and water.
It took nearly two days time before they reached the deserts end, coming out on a valley where the forest was rather lush and thick and there was a wide stream feeding water into a lake not far away. After the heat it was time to rest and catch up with what had been going on.
((Took forever to do this. :< There is no order at the moment. It can be redone. So whoever wants to post next can))

Poke...was not prepared
There was no other way to describe it.
She had been curious, that was for sure, as to why neko and yuki had so much resentment for the newcomers, and she was also wary due to this. But she had no idea...just how of an pure and utter a** Deacon was. It must of been a world record. Within a few hours, she had built up such a loathing of this guy that it was a testament that she didn't tackle him and beat him within a inch of his life. Well, thats what she thought anyway, but she still kept 'some' restraint. For whatever reason, hitsu seemed to like him, and he usually behaved around her. So with much reluctance she had yet to even lay a hand on the guy.
Caleb was a much more tolerable feline, and much nicer too. However, she had to wonder exactly what he had been through. Parts of his fur were missing, and he seemed to cower at pretty much...everything. Especially deacon. And it infuriated her every time she saw him order Caleb around.
Not long after the 'meeting', they were to leave the dragons city. Poke did feel a little sad that they were leaving, and she thanked them for all their hospitality, but she also feel a little relieved to be getting out of the hot desert. Until she realized they would still need to travel through it. While she hadn't said a word about it she was very reluctant to journey through the desert again, considering she almost died the last time she did it.
Once they had set out in their wagon through the desert, it wasn't long before she became ill again. Her body was just not cut out to cope with the heat coupled with little water. She spent the journey tucked in a corner of the wagon, listless and hardly responsive yet still struggling to show she was alright. She was loathe to admit she wasn't well, because she didn't want to use up the water supply.
Upon finaly reaching their destination, a lush forest along with -thank the heavens - a stream. Poke stumbled out of the wagon and into a nearby tree, holding onto it and letting her head rest against the bark while she waited for the world to stop spinning. "...ugh....I think I'm gonna puke..."

In terms of leaving the city, Blade had some mixed feelings. The dragons were incredibly hospitable to them and it was a great place to be. But the longer they remained, the more restless he grew. He was just not meant to stay in one place for a long period of time. So finally, they were back on the road to who knows where.
Deacon... was a little less than tolerable to be around. The thief did what he could to ignore the guy. He was rather certain the feelings of dislike were mutual in the very least.
The heat was not much of an issue to him, but he knew others weren't really able to take it so easily. So when they finally hit some fertile grounds with water, it was still rather relieving. Besides, he needed fluids too.
"Go ahead and get some water Poke," he said to her while climbing down to check on the horses, "Everyone else alright?"

Neko had fared well enough with their journey through the desert, the heat more of an annoyance than anything. It didn't seem to slow him down much as he spent his time directing the horses only taking breaks here in there.
What seemed to really get on his nerves though was Deacon. It was obvious the two felines were far from friends. There was hardly a kind word spoken between the two which got Neko in trouble more often then not so he had given up on conversation for the most part while Deacon was in close proximity.
When they had reached the forest, what was now a sight for sore eyes, Neko jumped down off the wagon to look the area over. It wasn't such a bad spot to set up camp. The area was nice and level, they were close to the water, and there was decent visibility all around.
"I'll start setting up camp," Neko called jumping into the back of the wagon to grab a few things. The dragons had loaded them down with quite a few things, which how he was thankful for. It had seemed like a lot at the time but they had literally come from having barely anything to being able to travel in comfort.
While Neko had fared well, Mitsu hadn't. Being thrust back out into the heat left the wolf girl rather wilted. For the majority of the journey she laid along a shaded corner trying to stay cool and sleep. Her plan was to sleep as much as possible until they got somewhere cooler, it was far too much effort to stay awake.
When they reached that fabled place where the sun's heat wasn't as intense and plant life was able to grow and flourish, Mitsu hadn't yet stirred from her nap. At least she would be in for a pleasant surprise when she opened her eyes.
