I made a bar once or twice. One of the rules pointed out there were no rafters and the place was fully lit. No dark corners.

The only place to lurk in the dark was under a table, where my character would look at you funny.

I loved it when it happened, cause someone didn't read-and Valas, my good natured baker, always treated them politely, but as if they were challenged.

I've been spamming F5 on Commerce for the past week looking for a guy I might want to RP with and have found nothing but disappointment. I suppose I should lower my expectations and become a rafter dweller as well.

On rare occasions, there's been guys who have taken Assault Rifle rounds and kept moving.

So I can see some cool supernatural creatures taking quite a few rounds. But from what I can see, people frown upon it because the immunity to damage is usually selective. They can take .50 BMGs like a champ, but can be destroyed via dagger or something along those lines. You find guns cheap so you decide to make yourself particularly immune to it. And you see it all the time.

It's sort of, kind of like Kichiro. Can only be killed by s**t that he can see coming, everything else that moves really fast is automatically blocked. And you can't argue with him because he'll just be like, "lol I'm usin meta powers to block your meta tech lol"

And I sort of just sit here like, "Meta tech say wha?"

So when people frown upon something in RP -usually- it's because the people who do it are doing it like retards.

The only times I hate working with opponents and guns are four-fold:

A. If the guy instantly goes "HUHUH, No-SCOPE HEADSHOT HUHU" like they're playing Halo 3 with a 12 year old opponent. Barring situations where it's obviously applicable like if there's a barrel right to someone's head [legitimate reached/placed], it just comes off as an excuse to 1-hit kill someone when done improperly.

B. When I'm utilizing firearms, and I literally unload a wall of shrapnel into somebody's torso which they make no effort to escape, find cover from, shield themselves from, etc. - and not only do they survive it [which is okay], but they take no damage from it and use the opportunity to try and strike a Devil May Cry pose.

C. Snipers. It's again the "good-v-bad" argument; a sniper who takes several posts to get in position, possibly have a wing-man nearby by radio to help adjust for unfavorable wind conditions, all of that - great. Kickass in fact. But someone who doesn't understand how a sniper rifle works in general often goes in with one in some bad vantage point, points the scope right at the offending character's head, and pulls the trigger a post or two apart max - not adjusting for a damn thing that may interfere with the plan. Then, even when the awesome "OOPS, SNIPER DISCOVERED, HUNTING TIME!" scenario is played out, the sniper if they're like the above usually has some bullshit method of escape like a warpy-cloak. Distasteful.

D. People who don't account for ammunition. Not just firearms, but other weapons that have set munitions; I hate that. A set amount of ammo is what balances such weapons, and folks who purposely leave that vague are bhbheehaheehehfhgggngmg.

Sure, you could say "Well if they're good, none of that'll happen-" but it's harder to deal with folks armed to the teeth with firearms that're bad than melee weapons. Namely because when you're an idiot swinging a sword like you think you're Cloud Strife, you're usually right in harm's way and your mistake(s) are usually costly enough that it's over. With a precious number of firearms, not as much; the risk versus ability to repeat the mistake is just too low.

{Hopping back on your 'Ammo' tip; Hael; It also happens that alot of them only want to use guns because of video game characters they've seen who do the same.
Bullet witch, DMC, MGS

Though at least snake has a finite amount of ammo that you have to constantly collect.

-nods-

Though arguably I really like the power up functions on ebony and Ivory...
-despite how ******** hilarious 'DEMON ENERGY BULLETS' are-}

I think if guns are utilized in that manner or anything similar [i.e. "IT UTILIZES MAH ENERGY-"] it should physically tax the user, regardless of what it's procured from.

Much as I hate to use this example, like Yusuke's Spirit Gun.

{Energy manifestation is touchy grounds; being that there's sota no 'real life science' to back up how it supposedly operates..Much less within this reality; or when drawing the energy from other plains..

But meh...

I think if you pump a bullet full of your energy; in any form; that shits gona blow up in your hand.
XD

and I uno about yusuke...I sorta really hate that show with a passion...
-I mean ********; he works for a baby-

But yea...bottom line; Majority of folks trying to play with guns; have no realistic idea; or apparently real life use of them..

Which only makes it funny when someone tries to say something epic after firing a round. XD }

{-Laura Croft shoots a Deagle and her wrist snaps as the gun recoils and hits her in the face with the scolding barrel-

XD always wanted to see that..or rather I always wanted to see physics smack that b***h down...-chuckle-}

Although with most guns that auto reload, some of the recoil is used to activate the machinery to load the next round (or at least that's how semi-automatic revolvers work) and so with customized guns you could possibly amplify that effect to have a decreased reload. For all one knows that's what she does, she has the cash to.

It's always been my belief that what you do should have costs for its results.

If you fire a rifle, ammunition should be depleted. If you carry too little ammo, you'll run out fast and consequently, if you carry so much you can start your own gun-store, you'll be off-balance/unwieldy/weighted.

If your weapon operates off ENERGY, there is a limited amount of energy, either in how much you have handy, how much the weapon can utilize before being damaged, or if it's energy coming from your body, a finite amount of that. Even if you're channeling it from Planet Ammotron Delta, the weapon shouldn't be able to channel that "energy" through itself infinitely without some sort of repercussion.

If you go "huhuh sword got infinite ammo LOL" - you have to swing the weapon [with the exception of a time I killed someone in the GTB I by just holding my sword out and the guy ran straight into the sword/killed himself, good times] - that leaves the hand grasping it less versatile in its actions, and it takes stamina out of you with running about swinging it around like a deranged baseball player, besides the fact the weapon can be damaged or deformed, or even taken from you.

If you can every claim your weapon is limitless in its use, and I do mean ever, you need to rethink that weapon.

One of these days, Yusuke and Omi's going to throw down. Then I'll teach you about making comical YYh references like it's a field day.
