Frankie Stein x

From directly underneath the Frankensteins feet, comes a small black void. "hello...?" A voice echoes. Up from the void comes a ghastly face with sharp yellow eyes and gray, windswept hair. "is this Monster High School?" She whispers just above a breath. People were lucky to have heard her clearly. "I'm not late, am I...?" Necrolin ascends from her portal, showing off her ghostly fish tail and otherworldly cloak decorated in chains. Holding her big black book of souls, she blocks Astrids view. "I hope I'm not late... My name is Necrolin Rosin Ni Blue... But just call me Nekki. As you can see, I am a mermaid who is also a necromancer. I... Play with the dead."

Astrid struggles to move her aside but Nekki gives off a very tingly sensation that makes her nervous. This new ghoul reaked of death.

"All fright!" Frankie, eternally cheerful smiled at her three tour-ees. "I'm Frankie Stein, and I'm happy to be your student body tourleader!"

It was handy that Nekki could float, Frankie realized. Otherwise, getting around school could be a bit of a challenge. She led the three new ghouls to the doors of the grimnasium.

"Normally, this is where Physical Deaducation takes place. Coach Igor and Coach Verizhe are tough but our championship teams can't be argued with!" Frankie opened the doors wide. "Since today is the last day of the scaremester, though, we don't have Phys. Dead. The Art Class is using the Grimnasium to display their final projects instead."

Inside of the Grim, several large art projects were set up, each with a student next to it explaining their art.

"This is Abbey Bominable. Abbey, these are the brand-boo students who are going to come to school next Scaremster!"

Abbey nodded.

"Is nice to meet. Please to enjoy ice sculpture final project. Is titled 'Annoying Fire Elemental Sculpted in Ice.'"

"Abbey is an....exactly-what-it-says-on-the-package sort of ghoul." Frankie hexplained. She walked them past other students, grimtroducing Robecca Steam and her living clock project, Catrine DeMew and her chalk pastel drawing, and Draculaura and her oil self portrait.

"And these are two of the other students on the greeting committee!" Frankie came to a stop in front of two more projects. "Layla LaMia and Kai Merha!"

As they all moved toward the next stop, Essi tried to keep herself from wandering. So many monsters and unique projects were there to beyond. She should really be trying to befriend Astrid and Nekki but one off the projects had stars on it....well...that's not how they really look. She's not one to judge but...it was distracting..

Perhaps unbeknownst to Frankie and the new ghouls gathered at the door of Monster High, Umbra was already among them. She just preferred to stay silent and unseen for the time being by disguising herself as Essi's shadow. So far it all seemed to be going well.

Umbra was just about to speak up and introduce herself to the two ghouls until another ghoul came out of nowhere and bumped right into Frankie. The Alicorn ghoul put up a huge fuss about the whole thing and seemed to have quite an attitude, and not the good kind. Umbra quickly became discouraged about the whole situation and decided to stay put underneath Essi's feet until the whole thing blew over.

Watching and listening in on their conversations, Umbra learned that the two other new ghouls, despite their clear differences, each had something in common with her; they were all from different dimensions. Umbra was intrigued, maybe even a little excited. She imagined that if there was nothing else these girls could agree on, at least they had one common thread stringing them together. Maybe this new school wouldn't be so bad after all.

Umbra followed the ghouls but continued to stay as a silhouette on the ground, waiting for a less awkward time to reveal herself to the four ghouls touring the halls.

"Um... was I heard?" Nekki asks herself and then sets eyes on Astrid who seemed to be too transfixed on Abbeys ice project.

Astrid pipes up a little when she approaches Abbey. "Oh wow, I do love your art!" She compliments, "your technique with ice is quite... sparkling!" She glitters her space-wings in amusement over the gleaming frozen sculpture, however tucks them right back in when other monsters began noticing the alluring galaxies shown within her feathers. Immediately spoiling her mood, she goes straight back to her bad attitude. "... Yeah good job."

Saddened, Nekki floats off from the main group to join Estrella in her sparkle-gawking. "Hi..." the necromancer introduces and places a chilly finger on the ghouls shoulder in case she wasn't heard. "So you're just as new as I am?" Nekki, bites her lip, nervous whether she was loud enough or not.

Essi fixated her gaze away from the art and noticed that Astrid was also distracted by the surroundings. Essi went to go over...Abby's art sculpture. Was it just her that saw an entrapped soul? She then felt an icy presence as a ghoul was holding on to her. These ghouls should be more careful of that considering she's wearing a portal pouch and the rick of falling into another dimension through her physical form would be unfortunate!
Ahh, the ghoul seemed to be quite shy and silent. Ess lowered her voice.
" Why yes, we both are brand boo! I'm Estrella but you may refer to me as Essi."
She stretched out her hand for a hand shake.

Kai Merha

Dapper Dabbler

PostPosted: Sat Oct 24, 2015 5:44 pm

Kai was basking in his good fortune. Ms. Moanatella liked his art project, he'd managed to get a good number of students to draw their names for the howliday ball gift hexchange, and now he could see Frankie Stein was coming into the grimnasium, probably to grimtroduce the crop of new students that were going to be joining the school next Scaremester.

Unlife was going pretty good.

Kai's tail twitched. That unnerved him a bit. He'd gotten the tail from the naga genes that had been spliced into him during the lab accident that had turned him into a monster, and it served as his sixth sense for trouble. When it twitched and rattled, usually it was telling him that something was about to happen - like perhaps an out-of-control witch on a flying skateboard was about to slam into him, or Nero Du Sphinx was about to propose a road trip to Monte Scarlo.

"Psst, Layla, do you see anything weird?" Kai tried to whisper to his friend, but she was too busy presenting her final art project to the teacher. Whatever was up, Kai was going to have to face it on his-

"Kai!"
Frankie Stein saw him and waved, leading a cadre of three students with her - or was it four? For the briefest of seconds, Kai's tail gave a rattle and he could have sworn his eyes were playing tricks on him, like one of the shadows was moving out of synch with its owner.

"Frankie!" Kai waved at her, trying to ignore the twitch in his tail. It would do no good to seem fangxious around the new students. He put on his best grin. "How's the tour going, ghoul?"

"Well, we've only just started. I told the ghouls I'd grimtroduce them to the other members of the New Student Committee-" Frankie looked around. It looked like the new students were engrossed in checking out the different art displays, leaving Frankie almost on her own. "Well, it looks like they're already getting comfortable here!"

"Gnarly." Kai replied, checking them out. A space alien, one of them was for sure - though she looked like a different kind of alien than his old bluddy, Roswell Gray. Kai wondered if she'd ever met Roswell...or how likely that was in the vast expanse of space. He also noticed she was the one with the slightly out-of-synch shadow. Part of being an alien, maybe?

The next goal was a floating mermaid who looked like she had some fashion in common with Marceline LaGhede. Maybe she talked to the dead, too, he wondered. He made a mental note to ask her.

The last one-Kai groaned. THAT was why his tail was twitching.

"Whuh oh." Kai took a step back. Frankie tilted her head.

"What's up, Kai?"

"That ghoul..." Kai pointed at Astrid Fantasy. "I've uh, already met her."

Met her, grabbed her, pulled her out of a zombie flash mob, and gotten sprayed in the face with some sort of glitter spray for his trouble, Kai was about to say. But before he could, Frankie piped up.

"Oh, you did?! Great! I'll call her over!" Frankie put one hand to her mouth and waved her other hand at Astrid. "Astrid! Over here! Hey, Astrid!"

Previously on Monster High....

Layla smiled at Kai's obvious good pleasure. He had been so worried for the longest of time about how Ms. Moanatella would react to his art project. It was all he had talked about at lurch when he was seated with Nero and herself at the self-professed artists' table. Art was so incredibly important to Kai, he simply had to get a good grade and nod of approval from the teacher, and now he had.

"Now, Layla..." Ms. Moanatella said as she led the class over towards her own covered project, still guarded by the Anubis jackal monsters. "Would you care to tell us about your project?"

Layla cleared her throat. She was her Mother's daughter so she drew herself upright and motioned toward the velvet curtain that hid her creation, and said, "I spent quite a lot of time trying to decide what would bessst represent me with this. I decided to work from two different directions. Or..." She shrugged, considering her words carefully. "Two different time periodsss."

"How do you mean?"

Layla said, "Well I decided to go with a blend of the past and present, and represent both where I came from, to where I am now."

"And you chose sand as the mode of creation?" Asked the teacher so that all in the class would know the foundation of her project.

"Yes. I come from a desert land, and wished for the base of the project to represssent that. And to better represent myself and being a monster, I had sand shipped from as many lands in monsterdom as I could: Scarabia, Oz, even outer space. Each lands sands have a different color and quality. It took some time but what I sculpted I think represents where I am now."

"Well," Ms. Moanatella smiled. "Then let's have a look, shall we?"

Layla turned her head and smiled at the Anubis, and gave them a nod. The jackals set aside their spears and took hold of the velvet curtains and drew them aside -- revealing a large, flat sculpture of multi-colored sand where only in certain areas did it protrude from the surface in oval and sharp textures.

To many eyes in the class, it seemed just a large slate with various colors of sand spread out and mixed in. Ms. Moanatella herself stared at it curiously, but Kai's eyes twinkled. Layla suspected he had already deciphered the meaning behind her project.

Ms. Moanatella started to say,
"Well... Layla. I must admit the colors are pleasing but..."

"If I might suggest Ms. Moanatella?" Layla interrupted. "If you were to back up a few sssteps across the grimnasssium?"

The teacher, and a few classmates, looked at her curiously but proceeded to do as suggested. They kept their gaze on the project while backing up, step by step. Layla watched, a smile slowly creasing the corners of her lips as the dawn of realization slowly started to come to them.

The further away they stepped, the more the colors in the sands came together and formed a picture, much like certain paintings or news prints. This was no different, and took an unseemly amount of time to pull off. It had been the sole reason why she had not been able to hang out with her beast friends for much of the past few months.

Time.

"Sand representsss time in many cultures." Layla smiled as the class was now looking at a sculpture of Layla herself, poised between her two closest bluddies, Nero and Kai. "I wanted this project to best represent my time here at Monster High, and the blesssings that came with it."

Layla felt a claw grip her shoulder and turned her head to see a smiling Kai standing at her side. Ms. Moanatella also turned to Layla and gave her a smile, "Well done, Layla. A."

Atomica lazily spun her pencil on her desk in Clawculus. This class was SOOO boring. She'd literally finished the final hexam in the first minute of class - one of the advantages of being a living calculator. None of her friends were in this class with her, since Gryff and Lin both had Chop Class instead. Atomica hoped next Scaremester she had a better schedule - this one had been SUUUCH a draaaaaag.

Mr. Mummy insisted that anyone who finished the test early had to just sit there quietly, too, which made every agonizing second seem to last much longer than it actually did. Atomica checked her internal chronometer - 10 minutes left in class still.

Atomica let out a tiny, annoyed beep.

*bleep!*

Mr. Mummy's eyes strayed from the hextbook he was reading and he gave Atomica a piercing stare. She shrunk down a bit in her seat.

At least after this she'd have Physical Deaducation. Since the grim was full of art garbage, Phys Dead was going to be a free feariod. Some of the members of the Skulltimate Roller Maze team were going to go down to the Catacombs to get in one last practice before the final match against Granite City. THEN Atomica could get some of the attention she so richly deserved! After all, she was the beast member of the SKRM team. She was the beast at everything she did.

Atomica checked her internal chronometer again.

9 minutes, 46 seconds left. UGHHHHH.

*BLEEP.*

Astrid spots Frankie's beckon and follows, smiling in hopes of finding something not a complete waste of her time...

...

"You again!" Astrid hisses. Literally hisses. Ugh. so far Monster High was not so good. Quite possibly the most obnoxious, disorganized, slap-happy school she has ever seen. "Ah if only the inter-dimensional portals didn't change, I would already be back at Cosmic High where all my friends are!!" Astrid hisses again before turning her heels away, sending her long hair flying into Frankie(incidentally) and Kai's(purposefully) faces, and whips past in some sort of upset.

After escaping the overwhelming moaning of mixed monsters in the Grimmnasium and finding sanctuary in the ghouls room, Astrid tears off a slice of paper towel to wipe off the stardust makeup that had dripped into her eyes from the sweat and tears. The lonely alicorn sobs as quietly as she can, hoping that no one hears a peep as she hides out in the corner of a toilet stall to wait out the day...

Frankie blinked as Astrid stormed out of the grimnasium.

"What...just happened?" She asked Kai, who groaned a little bit.

"That new ghoul was caught in a zombie flash mob earlier, and I tried to fish her out. She was sort of panicked and I ended up sort of....carrying her out of the way. Then she sprayed me in the face with glitter and ran off."

"Oooooh." Frankie winced. "Not a good start to a first day. I'll go after her-"

But before Frankie could follow Astrid, the bell rang. The first feariod of the day was over.

"Oh, spark!" Frankie grumbled. "I have to get to Decomposition Class."

"Don't worry about it." Kai reassured her. "The plan was always for Lay and me to take over since we have Study Howl next anyways. I'm sure we can find her and smooth things over."

"Are you sure?"
Frankie asked, a bit worried about Astrid. "Astrid seems...high-strung."

"‘A‘ole pilikia, Frankie." Kai told her in Hawaiian. "That means no problem." He gave her a reassuring, fangful grin. Frankie's face relaxed.

"Okay, as long as you're sure." Frankie acquiesced, then turned to Necrolin and Essi. "Ghouls! Ghouls, over here!"

"Kai, this is Estrella Espacio and Necrolin Rosin Ni Blue."
Frankie quickly got the grimtroductions out of the way. "There was supposed to be another ghoul named Umbra Stark joining, but I guess she couldn't make it."

"No worries, maybe she'll show up later." Kai ventured. He gave the new ghouls a friendly wave, hoping to make a better impression on them than he did on Astrid. "Go on to class, Frankie. I'll grab Layla and we'll see if we can find Astrid."

"See you soon!" Frankie gave the new ghouls a wave as she dashed off to her next class. "At lunch in the creepateria!"

"HEY! Dat Bat-room is closed!"
A cursedtoadian shouted at some sparkly student who dashed into the first-floor ghouls bat-room, ignoring the closed sign on the door. The massive troll heaved a weary sigh.

"AAAAAGGH, whatever! Lousy, ungrateful striplings!" He grumbled, dusting off his hands of the whole situation. "Five hours until the final bell....just five hours until the final bell."

The cursedtoadian lumbered down the hallway grumbling about messy, sloppy, annoying students and their inability to read signs as he gathered up his mop and bucket to move on to the next floor.

The softest of whispering sounds hummed near the blank, reflectionless mirrors in the ghoul's bat-room.....couldn't even be heard over Astrid's sobs.

What is that sound? It's a new sound. Haven't heard that sound before. Look closer, investigate, look closer, see more, want to see more, haven't seen enough, need to see more, what is it, what is it doing, want to know more!!!!!!!!!

"I'll see you later!" Draconia said her goodbyes to Draculaura as the two stepped out of Drama Class. Draconia stifled a sigh; her final hexam in Calcular Trigulometry was sure to be much less enjoyable.

As Draconia hefted her book bag onto her shoulder, a piece of paper fluttered out and down onto the ground. Being a conciencious monster and a teeny bit fearful of how Venus McFlytrap used her pollens of persuasion on monsters who litter, she knelt down to pick it up.

"Wot's this?" She turned the paper over. It said 'Harry Herne' on it. "Oh! Right! Secret Santa Claws!"

Draconia tucked the paper into her Trigular Calculometry book. She didn't want to forget about that! Draconia wondered, as she pushed through the rapidly-crowding hallways, what should she get Harry? What did he like? He had a very groovy sense of fashion, perhaps a nice scarf? Did he like comics? Maybe a grapheek novel of the Freaktastic Four would be up his alley. Or perhaps a gift set of different blends of scream tea...

Draconia frowned. She really didn't know Harry all that well. He seemed rather nervous whenever they grimteracted. She really had to think of a way to combat that...

It seemed liked eons of midnight silence as Essi looked upon the conversations between Astrid, Frankie, and some manster she didn't know. Oh dear, making friends was going deadfully wrong. She flickered her tail a bit, making the soft blue flame turn a dark blue. Back to serenity mode. Her face remained emotionless during the ordeal... her flame returned to light blue. Much better.
She heard Miss Stein call out to her and started to walk toward her not waiting for the other ghoul to follow. Essi would try again later on monster interaction, her goal switched back to fitting into customs here.
Miss Stein introduced the manster and departed to wherever the bell summoned her to. She gave a small wave back but her mood had clearly darkened a bit.

Astrid kicks out of the batroom stall, beginning to calm down and slams her palms down on the insinkerators, looking into her.... Just kidding, these mirrors dont have a reflection. How exasperating! Sighing, she whispers above a breath and squeaks, "how do I get home...?" a tear runs down her luminescent cheek.
