.[anata]. She raised her brows to the first girl who met her at the door. 'A maid? What does she mean by maid?' The young girl thought to herself as another woman greeted her. She had stricking blue eyes, like her jade ones. "Uh . . . hi . . . Tora-san . . ." Anata looked down at the stranger's questioning with her green eyes, "My name is Anata, but some call me Ana." She shrugged, "What did that first lady mean by "we got another maid"?" Puzzlement was written all over her face. *2*

Tora smiled and let Hara show the maid in. "Our okiya is growing," she smiled, starting to explain. "The first lady you met's name is Omny. She just became a geisha and is a bit busey with her upcomming ceremony. Pay her attitude no mind, she ment nothing by it," Tora smiled.

Hara looked at the girl and said " Yes it's very nice to have you here at this okiya.... I'm one of many makio here...let me know any more help"

She looked to Hara and was half tempted to snatch her hand back to retalate, but they were being very kind to her. Anata followed her willingly into the okiya. Her bright green eyes darted every which way. This place looked so elegant to her, compared to her clumsy little village in north.
"This place is an okiya?" She asked, she did not know what this world was, "That first lady is Omny and she is a geisha? What is a geisha?" Ana asked wondering what this new world her family had thrown her into. "And what did this Omny mean by maid?" *3*

"Oh, you poor dear," Tora said sympatheticaly. "Come, come to my room and I'll explain everything to you." Tora started off slowly to her room. She smiled at Hara, letting her know she could come too.

Hara smiled and said "Onee-Chan if you would not mind... I will leave you to tend to the new maid... I must go wash my face .... then if you wish we may finish our lessons..."

Kitsune_Fox [chibiwithagun] Chibi stood and went back into the Okiya and went towards the kitchen in which she saw to other women standing. Seeing the one that was standing in Omny's room she walked up and tapped her on the shoulder.
"Im sorry that I didn't say hello to you eairlyer...I'm just still alittle confused...I believe that I heard Omny call you Tohru?" She asked. " If I could serve you some tea to say sorry in a better way...May I?" She asked bowing.
[19] Tohru blinked and turned around. She nodded saying, "Yes, I am Tohru. I'm afraid I still haven't caught your name yet." She smiled kindly and waved her hand. "You don't have to to do anything special. I know that being in a new place can be confusing sometimes." "I'm Katsume Chibi, Thankyou for your under standing." She said with a deep bow. "Still it there is a time that you are free, I still would like to have tea with you." She said sweetly smileing. "Oh! And just so I know...Is there any thing that you need me to clean for you?" She asked her.

Hara gave Tora a soft smile....and said " I'll be with you two in a moment" and went to wash her.

She wanted to know why she was here most of all. Her loops at the end of her braids clunked together as she stared at Tora in semi-scowl. "Why am I here? Did that Omny lady mean that I am maid?" *4*

Hara finished washing her face... and join her Onee-Chan in one of the main bedrooms... and sat down.

She did not want to tossed out, sold and repeat this same journey to another place. Her round, child face was filling up with redness on the verge of tears. "I don't want to be kicked out again for nothing . . ." *5*

Tora smiled sweetly and understood how she might feel. "First, let me tell what what a geisha is," she began. "We are entertainers, artists if you will. We study music, art, writting, dance, manners, and anything else that is artistic. We use our knowledge to entertain men, known as patrons, at tea houses. We dance for them, we sing for them, we serve them drink and food, and carry on intelegent conversations with them.
Late at night after a long day at work, and man will reward himself and take a break and drink and eat with us. We give them the pleasure to be in our graceful, beautiful presence. The only thing we do not give them is our bodies.
A maiko is a Geisha in training. She takes the classes and has an "onee-chan" to teach her as well. As a maiko, that's when she begins to study the arts and takes classes.
A maid is just as it sounds. A maid is not a servent, but someone who helps tidy the house and clean. We have plenty of maids so the work is very light."
Tora finished and hoped Anata would get it.
