he smiled at the display and said sarcastically, "oh yeah, the Mav is a vicious one, you better look out," and continued to walk while zahar ran in circles, mavrick playfully chaseing her. this display went one for some time, and he was haveing trouble pretending to be stoic over the fact.

"mav stop," he said calmly and the rodent skidded to a stop, "good lad. no go appologise," mavrick slunk toward zahar and nuzzled her legg sotfly with his nose then moves a few feet away, "you can play with me like that but not zahar unless she starts it, ok?" the rat jsut stared at him intelegent eyes glistening in the light zahar provided, "thats a good lad. now. can we continue? everyone ok and stuff? hows your hip zahar?"

"thats good its feeling better. i just told him to stop. if you would have im sure he would have done the same."

he laughed, "you have some things to learn then. he will not hurt you. but you can sak him to leave yourself if youd like. im sure he will obey you," he shifted the boy and turned around, "besides we are nearing the surface. i figure only ten feet or so seperate us from day light, and i do no know if mav will feel comfortabel out there."

"perhaps he will, pwerhaps he won't. im not mavrick," he said with a chuckle, "either way, we are getting close, and as for the boy. we shall ask him when he awakes," he said. they walkd for a few minutes in far silence. the only thing reall heard were zahars foot steps and mavricks clawed paws trundling as well. he squintedinto the dark beyond zahars light, "soulds like a wall is ahead of us," another moment passed, "and look, there are some step," he places the boy gently on the ground when the reached te bottom of the steps which led up another ten or so feet to a doorway of some kind, "i will go a head for a moment and take mav with me so as not to make you more uncomfortable. if that is ok with you?"

"its fine. there are only ten stairs or so. you jsut can't quite see the top is all, ill be right back doll," he clucked at mavrick an the ROUS scamppered after him and he walked up the stairs. at the top there was only darkness thought he could smell wood and knewthe door was infront of his face. he ran his fingers around the edges and found a splinter ant snapped it off. a tiny crack of light. he tapped the wall. it... it was somewhat holow sounding. not like there was aroom there because that was obvious. a bookshelf!. he pushed as hard as he could and it rocked a little. he sniffed in disgust and trommped down to the bas of the stairs beside zahar. his face slightly in a glower. zahar looked about to say sometihng but he held a hand up to silence her and took off all of thier gear and set it to the side and stretched a bit. and leanded over and touched his toes then dropped gracefully into the side splits. then shifted to the front and back splits and hopped to his feet and cracked his neck and smirked at zahar and took off in a sprint. in a flash a loud soft thud was heard with a crack and creeeeeek and then snap with a startled, "WOAHHHG!!! OOOOOF."

light streamed into the tunnel down to wher zahar and the boy were and a puff of dust fallowed that, and a short time later there was grown from the top of the stairs. he looked up and around. the front of this building was missing and the sun streamed in. book shelves and tables lined the outside walls of the room and the odd one remained standing in the center. the sun hurt his eyes and he curled up in pain. his hands holding his eyes and managed to choke out to zahar, " i think we are out lass"

he pushed himself up and clambered down the stairs once his eyes stopped hurting. he was covered in dust that was ages old and coughed once when he got to the bottom of the stairs a smal puff of dust comming off his lips and then said, "can i do it again mommy?" in a cute little voice and burst into laughter.
