The next morning, Kisame woke a bit early, while Itachi was still asleep. He shifted the other male closer and buried his face in the Uchiha's shoulder, before settling for sleep again. Their hands were still together, and his other arm was rested around the other males' waist, his hand resting on the pale spanse of stomach. Just for the hell of it, he began rubbing a the soft skin, always having loved the feel of it. So soft and silky, like the Sharingan-weilder's hair, and sometimes his smile. The shark fell asleep again after a bit, a pleasant sigh escaping his lips.

itachi woke slightly when he felt hte hand stroking his stomach and glanced voer hsi shoulder slightly, hearing hte others breath fall back into slumber again. he gave a smile that if Kisame had been awake to see it would have shocked him. it was warm and actually held caring for another being. He normaly would jsut get up but he decided to jsut lay back down and doze lightly himself, the misson could wait

(( Actually, I guess I'll post the timeskip. ))
Within the comforts of a hotel, Kisame stood in the bathroom and patched up a long cut across his cheek. He'd gone out early, while Itachi was still asleep, and had done a mini-mission Leader had asked him to do. Out of it, he'd gotten a scroll he'd already exchanged for cash, and a gash in his cheek. It stung a bit, but wasn't too deep, so he hoped it didn't scar too badly.
Done cleaning and patching up his wound, the shark-nin splashed his eyes a little with cool water and dried his face off carefully. Stepping out of the bathroom, he slipped out of his sandals and back into bed. They were some-odd miles east of Konoha, in a populated village where there were several jobs they needed to complete. Their prior missions had been in-and-out retriever jobs, just like the one he'd just completed.
Encircling his arms around Itachi's waist, Kisame paused to think. He had long arms, but for some odd reason, it was taking more of them to wrap completely around the other male. And he'd had this insatiable want to rub at the skin on the Uchiha's stomach; his hands had been slapped several times for it. Sizing up his lovers' stomach, the shark's eyes widened a bit. How hadn't he noticed? Was it because they were both in and out, and a little more separate with the small jobs that they easily did alone? They only saw each other asleep, mostly, the past few weeks.
Kisame lifted the blanket a bit and peeked down at the Uchiha's belly. Swollen... large. It wasn't too bad, but enough for notice. And the rest of Itachi's body was as thin and beautiful as it always was... with hips. The shark began filling in information to blanks. More noticeable hips and stomach. A light glow about him, and a more protective mood of the blue-skinned-male. Was Itachi....? No. They were both male, and that couldn't possibly happen. If it did, though...
Giving a soft groan, Kisame wondered how many different ways Itachi could kill him for getting him pregnant. It was a highly unlikely possibility, and the shark was having lots of doubts about it, but if some of the things he was adding up were true... The shark-nin gulped and closed his eyes. He'd ask when both of them were awake and mission-free.

Itachi would normaly have been awake when Kisame came in but lately he'd been so tired and noises that normaly would have woken him, he slept right through. he never really slept well anymore either, even thuogh he was sleeping alot more. he only slept well when Kisame was there, that and he'd been.....worried about him. More then usual. he hated it when eh went out on missons on his own, he always had hte worry he wouldnt be able to handle something. When he was around and they were awake Kisame had hte habit of rubbing his stomach, he had let him until he realized he was enjoying it to much and had to slap his hands to amke him stop. Most time though it evoled into another set of making hte bed creak. They'ed actually broken a few beds. He'd noticed he was getting a bit of a belly to and found he was very vain about himself. he'd tried to cut back on what he ate but he was always so hungry! He had made a mental note to talk to Kisame about it, see if he'd noticed anything as it could always be jsut in his head.

Itachi gave a soft sigh, knowing right away that Kisame was there, he always slept with a hand on his stomach lately and his arms around him. he frowned thuogh as he hadnt even woken up when he came in and that was nto a good thing

Kisame heard Itachi's groan, and thought about pretending to have fallen asleep, but decided not to. Instead, he took the chance that both of them were there, and that his partner had enough sleep for them to both be awake. "Nn... 'Tachi?" the shark-nin murmured softly, shifting his head up to kiss the Uchiha on the cheek. "You awake?"
Shifting his head, he tried to partially hide the bandaged cut on his cheek by resting it on a pillow. That hurt a bit, though, so he really couldn't do much of anything. He just hoped Itachi was too tired to notice, because he'd probably get chewed out about it. It was bad enough his partner worried about him when he went out on solo jobs. Heck, he worried about the Uchiha a lot when he did the same thing. But, after nearly dying several months before... He had to be careful at how many wounds he was lazy enough to get.

Itachi sighed oftly and shifted a bit, wriggiling around until he was facing the blue-skinned male "I did not hear ou come in." HE said, the phrase the only indication of his ire of not waking up. He noticed there was something off about the way the sharkman was laying but shruged it off. Now was the first time in awhile that they had had time together like this and, although he would never admit it, he enjoyed it. "How did it go?" He also enjoed the nickname hte shark used for him

Kisame smiled as Itachi faced him, and he kept his head down to hide the bandage on his cheek still. "Pretty smoothly... A few daring shinobi, but otherwise simple." he grinned for only a second, as the movement kind of stung. He shifted carefully to give the other a light kiss before resting his cheek down on the pillow again. "You've been really sleeping heavily, lately..." he commented softly. Now was the time to wonder if Itachi was noticing the same things about himself as the shark-man was.
"On top of that, you've gained some hips, 'Tachi..." A hand shifted and trailed down one of the Uchiha's sides and rested on the hip. His other hand shifted to stroke the others' belly.

Itachi frowned, ire flashing in his eyes much quicker then normal "Are you saying im becoming fat and lazy?" HE asked irratably, ignorign the fact that he had been thinking that exact same thing not to long ago. Most of his annoyce left thuogh as he felt a hand stroke his belly and he stretched not unlike a cat

Kisame quickly sat up and shook his head, revealing the wounded cheek he'd been hiding. "No, 'Tachi. That's not what I mean..." he held up his hands defensively. "It's just..." he sighed and looked to his lovers' swollen stomach, and he stroked it lightly again. "The only thing... I've seen this in... is woman who are.... pregnant..." the last word was rather quiet, and he was hoping the Uchiha would have enough sense not to kill him completely.

Itachi sat up as well, grasping onto Kisame's chin to see his cheek better. He forgot about that however at Kisame's words "....what did you say?" He said in a low angry voice, eyebrow twitching as he stared at his partner. His normaly black eyes slowly turned red

Kisame pulled his chin away and held up his hands in defense. "I mean, look at the facts, 'Tachi!" he didn't want his a** kicked by his lover... his cheek already stung enough to know he didn't want anymore pain. "Your hips got larger- that happens to them, too! And your stomach! You haven't been eating enough to do that with just fat!" he wasn't fully believing it himself, but it made sense! "'Tachi, I don't know how, but I think you're pregnant!" he went suddenly quiet after that, and began scooting away from the other male.

[i jsut had a random thuoght! can you see Itachi doing the whole pregnant women emotionla thing? GEtting ubber pissy then bursting into tears and demanding orange sauce with pickles all in the same few minutes? rofl ]
Itachi's eyes didnt turn any redder but they did not go back to their normal dark color. Instead that gaze stayed locked onto the blue-skinned male, looking like eh would spring at any second hen really he was going voer it all in his mind, putting the facts together and checking it out from every angle. He HAD heard a rumor that the males of his clan could produce if there were not enuogh females to keep their numbers up. It would stand to reason that if that were true, his blood could have taken it into its own hands so to speak to ensure the family line. Suddely the red went out of his eyes and he looked tired and small "WHat..do we do? We need to be sure..." HE said softly, a hand resting on his stomach. He looked up at the larger male, for once waiting for im to make the decsion on what to do next

Kisame seemed to cower for a bit, and then Itachi deflated. He sighed and slowly relaxed, before just as slowly shifting back over to comfort his partner. "Pregnancy test?" he asked, half jokingly. Resting his hand over Itachi's on the others' stomach, he shifted and kissed the other softly. "We'll figure something out. So long as you don't kill me." he added the other part in a rushed, quiet, nervous kind of way.
His free hand rubbed his cheek to get it to stop itching. "Are you hungry? I can go get some breakfast."

Itachi gave a soft grunt at the 'dont kill me' comment, reserving judgement for that and put his mind into the present. He reached up and grabed the others chin and pulled his face clsoer "you got hurt again" HE said, frowning as he checked it over to make sure it wasnt infected. At the thought of food he forgot about the cut however and nodded "Yes..i am starved" HE said as he slid out fo bed and began to get dressed "I want...toast" HE said "WIth grape jelly jam and a pickle on the side"
