"Mmm, so you'll be around awhile? This place just got a whole lot more interesting." He licked his lips and smoothed out a fold in his jacket.

Shuya giggled, blushing slightly. "Hardly interesting. I'm not the most interesting person ever."

Adjo took a cautionary step closer to Shuya. "More interesting than anything else I've seen."

Shuya noticed the step and tensed. Nobody had dare get that close to him in the past, and it made him nervous. Nervous, but excited. He gave the other male a small smile, nodding slowly. "Glad you think so. You're interesting, yourself."

Adjo narrowed his eyes at Shuya, and didn't take another step, pocketed his hands. "Am I?" He smiled, tilting his head. "Well, I suppose if I wasn't I wouldn't be so...popular."

"Popular," Shuya echoed with a laugh. "I can see why you'd be popular. Shizu-chan's popular, but she hates people. I'm popular with girls, but that's not, well..." he spoke, his voice trailing off as he suddenly found the sand beneath them very interesting.

"That's not, well...what?" Adjo smirked, and raised an eyebrow. His tail swished back and forth in the sand as he took another cautious step forward, leaning toward him.

Adjo licked his lips again and stuck his hands into his back pockets. "What is it they say these days... You play for the 'other team' then?" He looked Shuya over. "And you're not popular amongst other crowds? I am...surprised."

"I suppose I root for the home team," Shuya slang, chuckling. "I don't know. I haven't been out much, though, so..." he spoke, glancing towards the sand once again.

"Aaaaaaah." Adjo smiled, lowered his eyelids. "So, is the sand that much more interesting than I am? Or could you be convinced to look at me?"

"And how might I do that?" Adjo pulled one hand out of his pocket and adjust his collar, then hooked the thumb of the same hand through a belt loop. "Maybe I'll have to do some drastic."

Shuya grinned, showing his small fangs. He didn't turn his gaze back to the man, and instead chuckled quietly. "Drastic, hmm? Like what?"

"That depends. What are the rules concerning Japanese demons in death? I'm so used to the jackal-headed variety. Those ones...A scratch behind the ears, and they're clay in your hands." Adjo snickered, and held up his hand. "Am I allowed to...touch? Or just look?
