Right than. Carl noted the direction of the sand and headed off that way, hoping that LP would be in the nearby vacinity to help him out. Not that he much needed it, he was sure, but it all really depended on just how big these bags were. The bird was more than confident he could do it on his own - but at the risk of a pissed off Willow or a torn bag....he decided to play it safe and let LP help.
The sacks of sand were easily enough found out, being..well..bags of sand! Carl moved over to one and tried to lift a bit, doing it gently so as just to test how heavy it was before attempting any sort of clean jerk.

LP just so happened to be heading that way herself watching carl she chuckled and grabed two bags, one of them being hte one carl held. And carried them back to the site, now it was carls fault if he was still attached to the bag....
Then she headed off to get herself more nails to finish the roof.
Willow in the mean time was looking at the river that flowed from the other side of LP's garden and was trying to think of how to get it back over to the newest additon.
After a while she nodded and headed back to carl's direction, "Okayyy so we'll need a few bridges two and we'll have to direct the water from the near by river" she pointed off past LP's flower gardens. "To todo that we'll need to dig the layout first and then add the sand before we bother with directing some of hte river to here. We'll also have to use stones to keep the sand from washing away too much." She noted this as she went over the plans in her head.

Carl was indeed! The bird gave a small 'eep!' as he was bodily lifted, claws just barely pricking the fabric and keeping him bourne by the bag. With wings he might have enjoyed this. With wings he would have swung and chuckled and had a good time of the trip. But without them...without the surefire safety net to catch him, the bird clung for dear life until slowly the desent was made onto sweet, solid, merciful earth.
He freed himself as soon as he could and scurried away, lest there be another unwanted ride by the seat of a bag. Rather, he went over quietly and listened to the explination, simplifying it the best way he could.
"So we have to dig a trench. Set the sand. Solidify the stones. And Set loose the solution. Right?"

"That's the plan." She said softly as she was trying to trace out where the stream and lake would be pondering off how it should work. "What do you think Carl?"

He looked at it for a moment before pointing to a certain spot. "I think that spot would be better for the lake and you could run the stream past this spot here to accent the plant life. But it's up to you - that space is fine as well."

Willow thinking about what was said she nodded before tracing around the path that the lake should follow as she moved around whilsting as she traced out the pattern.

Carl followed behind, watching her scape out the area for the new installment. It would certainly bring a special touch to the place, although - Carl paused, puzzled, how was he expected to dig this out exactly? His claws weren't meant for digging, and he hadn't spotted a shovel yet. Perhaps she'd simply held out on that?

After having dragged out the basic lines and general area of things; inculding a small island where the lake was going to be; Looking at it she nodded they'd work on digging out towards the river after they'd finished the rest. She also pondered about a water fall but she'd have to get acia to help with that... after all she wasn't sure how to go about getting it to work.
Her tail wavered as she walked over to a small toolshed and tossed out a shovel. "Knock yourself out." She said as she sat down to watch Carl.

Carl caught it and spun it once, implanting the tip into the earth and leaning on it. Just because he was learning how to live humbly, didn't mean he couldn't have a little flare to it, right? The shovel head was pulled from the dirt and transported to the beginning, gently set upon the first of the traced line before he deftly kicked hard against the top of the metal.
It was easily burried in. The bird's strength did not only reside in his arms, so it made the process a quicker one that he was able to get it in the first time instead of forcing his way in by wasting several shoved against it. The earth loosed as he pulled it out, set asside from its natural placement before he began the continual motion of plunge, rip, dispose, and repeat.

As she watched the bird dig the earth along the paths she started wondering how long it'd take them to finish this. Maybe the rest of the week. That is if she worked as well. But she enjoyed watching the bird work and think he was learning how to be a king.
Although he did seem less large headed and more down to earth she wondered how much he really had learned about being humble. Atleast this rate atleast she'd have some more of hte temple finished and less for LP to do.

Carl didn't catch on to the gaze of his hostess, he simply continued digging, keeping the ditch smooth and even by ocassionally stopping to use the pressure of his foot to make the earth nice and steady again. It would make laying the sand and rocks alot easier if it was even, so he carefully observed his shovel as though wondering just what the best way to accomplish both things at once would be.
However, it only came with practise. Carl certainly didn't dsicover any technique right off so he was merely forced to be cautious in his labor as he continued through the slowly forming stream bed, a soft hum on his beak as some random melody struck up with him.
Perhaps, unconciously, he really was becomming a more mellow monarch.

That caught his attention. Carl paused and looked up, eyeing the paper with a bit of disdain towards it. "You actually read that thing?"
Yes. To Carl the paper was 'That thing' the thing that had all the depressing news about things he didn't understand, people he didn't know, and things that he didn't much care for at all. "How can you stand it, Willow?"

Willow pulled out the obituraties and comics. "There's two good parts to this paper." She said with a grin and a waggle of her finger. "The Comics and the Obits. The Funny things and the list of dead people that I can expect to run into that may or maynot have passed on already." Her tail flickered as she read though the names and tore out the ones that she believe could still be around.
"I can stand the paper just as much as the next person. Besides there's always something good in it." She said nodding before pausing. "Ohhhh pocky's two for one this week I'll have to tell LP." She grinned and went about her marry way chopping out bits and peices.

"Oh...I thought you read the nasty part. You know, almost the entire thing..." The bird looked back to his work and continued digging, but thought that perhaps time might go by faster if conversation fuelled his attention more than the repetative dig-dug smooth technique. "What's pocky? Is it good?"
Might as well kill two or three birds with one cannonball, right?
