JL grabbed the abandoned zat and found somewhere to stash it on her vest with a scowl. She grabbed Space roughly and jerked her arm into view, squiting in the light and plucking her sun glasses from her face so she could see better. "It's only been clipped, there's no bullet in your arm. You'll be fine." She said with a wry smile. "I've got some asprin if you think they'll help but other then a nice sticky plaster there's nothing you can do about it." She got to her feet and, after a moment's fussing, adjusted her eye patch (She wasn't actually totally blind in one eye... but no one had ever asked). Once again, she offered Space a hand to help her up. "We need to keep moving. We need to work out why that doors open. And stay close, no weapon for you after that burst of total idiocy."

She took the offer, as the closest to sympathy she expected from the General, wincing as the pain shot through her arm.
"Okay.. I suppose that was a little dim." And thought to herself, how was I to know what way up the stupid thing went? Both ends look the same.
Having picked herself up, both JL and herself entered the building through the previously mentioned, slightly ajar door.
She looked over to JL, "Any chance of that sticky plaster?" She smiled.

JL looked to space, clicking her P-90 into place, a smile returned to her current companion. "Sure." She dug in a pocket in her vest and produced a waterproof plaster, offering it to Space. However, due to misplaced concentration in the dark, she did manage to walk straight into something in the darkness (it may have been a cupboard) and smack her face into it. "Urgghh." She shook her head vigously and blinked several times, adjusting her helmet. Suddenly, the door slammed shut behind them, throwing the entire bottom level of the tower into total darkness, not a single thing visable. JL stepped back into Space, half on purpose and grabbed her sleeve. "Keep hold of me.. sleeve, belt, anything." She muttered, trying to find the light on her P-90.

"Ooofh." She felt so; so stomped on. In the dark, and out of harms way, she grinned. Space put one hand on JL's shoulder, and the other found itself on her face, patting gently in order to discover exactly what she'd found. Feeling cool metal, she panicked, thinking it was a weapon. Space grabbed the artifact and pulled it towards her. Stood in total darkness, grasping the metallic object she said rather proudly,
"Don't worry General, I got it!"

JL's eyes widened slightly in the total dark. "You what?! Give those back!" She flailed vaguly at where she thought Space was until a hand clamp down around her arm. "Space?" She murmered, unsure now. JL had not yet managed to turn on the light on her P-90 and thus she could not see who it was. As the grip tightened painfully, she realised it could not be the anthropologist for she was far too weedy. JL found herself wincing in pain, letting go of her P-90, it hanging round her neck, loose. "Ngghh... get the hell.. offa me!" She went to club her fist wildly into the darkness but it connected with nothing.

Her reply was muffled, and turned into something along the lines of "Mggunhfff huugthyr"
The cold, clammy skin was uncomfortable against her face, and the long fingernails scratched her cheek. Her eyes widened too. The putrid smell of old skin seeping into her nostrils, she squirmed a little, attempting to free her face from the vile creature.

JL screamed, a shrill and angry noise, not one of a worried, frightened woman but of one that had just lost her best pair of sunglasses and was now being attacked by some friek with a grip like a clamp. She swung again with ehr fist into the dark, fruitlessly and, after a few seconds of still, something as hard as iron connected with her skull. Even with the protection of her helmet, she saw silvery stars flitter across her vision. A second hit made her fall limp in the grip of whoever-it-was, unable to remain conscious.

JL woke up with a twitch, then a secon twitch. Something was patting her vaguly. Patting her hair, she noted; her helmet was gone. She opened her eyes blearily and looked at the patter. It was Space and she looked rather worried. JL pulled herself up into a sitting position groggily, a hand to her face. Then she noticed the lack of her vest and of her weapons in general. And her glasses were still missing. She sat there in a cloud of sulk and anger, glaring a hole into the wall as if it would helpt them escape this dank chamber.

Her worry subsided a little, as the General sat up, though she had looked better. Now, she deemed, would be a good time to give the general back her glasses. She looked down, fumbling in her pocket, and smiled, bringing them up to the General's eye level, and wafting them a little.
"Thought you might need these. Sorry I took them, I didn't realise it was you." She considered asking about the head, but, seeing the look in JL's eyes, decided it was better left alone. For now at least.

Unsure of how to break the news to the general, she shuffled round and sat in front of her. Nervously.
"While you were.. out of it.. I thought I could use the 'Gem' Eyes gave us to try and escape, but-"
She held what was once the shining artifact out at arms length, it was now a shrivelled, black crumbling mass of what looked like cooled molten rock.
"I think the Anti-Tech Beam that Eyes spoke of earlier has something to do with it. When it didn't get us out of here, I thought I could use it to revive you, but that didn't work, either, well ..obviously. My bet is all the gems are broken, permanently."

9OOC: I masked the door not the tower.)

Eyes was joined by Waters. "just like old times eh?" asked Waters. "Yes, very." "I think we will have backup soon" said Waters. "Why?" asked Eyes. "I saw JL and Space going for the clock tower where the gate is." "Hehe good luck to them. The gear thats the DhD is in the house. Thats a fake I put there years ago so if the Vampires Cronies ever found it they couldnt go anywhere." Waters laughed. "But go check up on them anyway see where they went." Eyes told Waters. "Alright" replied Waters. "Il go find them, you hold off the vampire minions." Waters ran off in search of JL and Space and Eyes prepared for battle.

JL watched Space now with a large grin slapped on her face. "I knew they were useles.. I threw mine away." She got to her feet unsteadily after a moment. It felt like someone was playing a bass drum inside her cranium but she managed to ignore it and stagger over to the door of the room. There was someone standing on guard outside. JL gave many random remarks to this person, most of them rude, before sinking to her knees and looking at the lock. It was old fashioned and crude but seemed sturdy. If there was not bolt on the outside, they might be able to get out. "Got any wire?" She asked Sapce, patting her pockets looking for some.

She thought about that, for a minute, hands deep in pockets. She felt the detonator given to her earlier, some tissues, a few other objects, none close enough to wire to fit into the lock.
It hit her suddenly, and she began to unbutton the standard green BDU overcoat. She hoped the guard wasn't getting any ideas, as she pulled her shirt up, with one arm.
"Right where I left you" she said, half to herself, half to the Safety Pin holding up her slightly too large trousers. Unpinning it, and replacing it with a hair elastic, not perfect but close enough, she then held it up, and looked over to where JL knelt by the door.
"Will this do? Not quite wire.." She smiled, hoping this would be her chance to be of some use.

JL took the pin greatfully. "Thanks Space.. Maybe you should get some BDU's that fit?" She suggested, turning to the lock. After amoment, she stood and shouted. "Oi, you. Guard." She scowled. "My friend here feels ill, get her some water. NOW." The General had the art of Generalling and a commanding voice liek that sent the guard skittering away. JL went to the lock and started to pick it, a scowl on her face now as she consentrated. After a moment, she noticed Space was holding ehr glasses. "Oh thank god. You didn't loose them. Thanks, Space." She took them greatfully and put them on, although it was dark in the cell. She then went back to the lock.

Waters noticed that some of the Cronies were massing around a ceartin house. Waters went down the neares ally and mase his way towards the back of the house the cronies were massing near. he took out one of his gems and placed it on the wall and put his ear to it....listning. he heard JL and Space voices. so he willed a hole to appear, the gem caused the wall to melt away. Inside he saw (to his relief) JL and Space huddled inside.
