Thank you very much for accepting this oldie into this (hopefully fantastic) guild. I'm into metal for some 16-17 years now, so probably longer than some of the guild members walk on this planet wink .
Anyway, I hope you guys will help me getting into the stream of things again, as I'm stuck with some few bands for a few years now and know nothing about newer stuff. And since they got me this pretty mobile phone with a 2 gig memory card that can carry quite a load of great music... Basically, I count on you all to introduce me to some newer stuff that may be of liking for me.
Summing up, there's no particular genre that I'm stuck into. Be it gothic, heavy, thrash, even death and black, I may be listening to the music. My car's CD changer carries Children of Bodom, Death, Manowar and Metallica right now (alphabetical order).
And now you may say hi to your newest aunt wink .

Seems like you're an exact example of a person who hasn't walked on this planet as long as I'm into metal wink . As for folk metal... well... I'll check it out. I even think I saw one band like that a while ago, though I won't remember the name. The fact is that their music was kind of celtic and they were dressed in green outfits wink .

Welcome to the guild. :3kacisko And since they got me this pretty mobile phone with a 2 gig memory card that can carry quite a load of great music... I also have a phone and an MP3-player that both have a 2 GB memory, and it's not enough. Not even close. And it's so tiresome to change the contents of the players, so I'm stuck with the same songs for ages until I have time to fix them.

This should be enough for some few hundred songs and my plan is to only put those that I can listen to over and over again. Meaning some 2-3 per album. And then a few hundred songs is much more than you need for 3 hours spent in the train while on business trip. My only problem with that phone player is how to convince the stewardess to allow me to switch it on while on a plane wink .

Well, welcome to my guild. Don't judge a person by how they are dressed. I do myself fancy folk/viking metal very much. Each genre has their style of clothing no matter how out of the norm they may be. Besides judge on the music not on the dress.
If you like Bodom try Norther and if you like Death try Bolt Thrower (I haven't found a person yet who hasn't enjoyed Biolt Thrower).
But definately check out some folk/viking, try a bunch of different bands, we have myspace links to most to all of the threads, so everyone can here the music.

Honey, I'm too old to judge anybody by their dress wink . And I will definately try the bands you suggest. But now I'll go and prepare myself for the other love of mine - soccer!

Hey everyone! I'm D1scharge (as you all can see) im 19 years old and I haven't been listening to metal for about 10 years
I play the bass guitar and into some bands and stuff.
My favorite type of metal is prog metal. i like bands like pain of salvation pagans mind, shadow gallary, liquid tension experament(sp I know), Ayreon, and much more. My bands of choice would be blind guardian, symphony x and pain of salvation aside from prog I like power, thrash, heavy and Older death metal.
Aside from metal, Jazz is my favorite type of music. I mostley stick with the bebop and hard bop varieties. like art blakey, charles mingus, horace silver, jimmy smith and so on. I also like some Funk, Blues, Rock, and Flamenco

Hey, guys. I'm Buliwyf, I'm 20, I've been listening to Metal for about ten years. While I was in high school it was all I would listen to. I mainly like Power and/or Thrash Metal bands like Blind Guardian, Iced Earth, Jag Panzer, and Testament. Basically I like Power Metal any time it doesn't involve fast, noodly guitars and keyboards while someone sings in a high voice about slaying the dragon (more power to you if that's your thing, to each his own). I also happen to like Rotting Christ, Amon Amarth, Acid Bath, and Immolation, even though I don't generally like bands in their subgenres.
That's by no means an exhaustive list, but I think this is running a bit long already, and I'm sure my preferences will be obvious once I start posting more.

Hello! =D Thanks for inviting me.
I'm... Erm... Call me... Well call me anything you like just as long as I know that's what you're calling me. I want to change my username so yeah.
I'm 18. I like mostly Power Metal and Heavy Metal. Sometimes listen to Thrash as well. Other that Metal I enjoy Blackmore's Night, Jimi Hendrix, and stuff like that.
I play the acoustic (still learning actually), and I love to sketch.
I wanna know Hollow (if I may call you that) how did you find out I liked Metal? I mean I haven't met you before and my profile's locked.
