The Second L.T. Opens up a Holo map of Alpha Aurum and the ecosystems that it is composed of. He made small little notes in a pocket computer. He Zoomed in on the Northern Hemisphere. "This part here is not unlike the earth but, it seems that it has a differen't Chemical makeup, hmmmmm." Dantes Zoomed in on the virtual map and coupled it with some Chemical readouts of the soil composition. "this is quite odd, the soil seems to be made of one element and not a combination of organic and mineral sediments." He pulled out a large poster of the Periodic Table. "Whaaaa!" an element caught his eye. "Th-This is impossible!" He checked the readout again "this is Amazing! I can't believe this!" He hurries of to his Quarters to log this in his amazing Discoveries list.

The Corpral looks at the 2nd Lt. as he heads down the lift to quarters, then looks around the bridge. "What the...?"

Well Major Hayabusa, we're seeking out anything that sparks out interest. Besides, the maps that Dantes has are limited, only a few planetary maps exist and they were provided by deep space satellites sent several hundred years back before sub-space transport and communication was possible...they said there was a primitive race similar to the 12 century, but now they should be around our time by my calculations at Alpha Auram. ::she said, keeping steady on the course::

he comes rushing back to the bridge. He speaks to everyone "ok I just found something about Alpha Aurum that for some reason no one has seen before" he says excitedly. "well really the only info that we have on Alpha Aurum is that it is inhabited by a sentiant race and it's like earth yadda yadda yadda, but since no body has actualy been there, because it is illeagle to interfear with primative races, The actual soil composition has been unknown. My Discovery today has led me to the conclusion that the Soil of Alpha Aurum is actualy made of...." he waited for a bit to see if any one would respond "well the soil is made of Gold mabey not pure gold but gold none the less." he went into his notes "it seems that the plants are adapted to growing in the golden soil." he Looked up from his notes watching for the other crewmembers reactions.

eek You're kidding right? Lemme see those readouts... *peeks over the 2nd Lt.'s shoulder*

Smithwillsuffice... (( scream biological life is not sustainable through a purely metal substance... but for purposes of RP)) eek You're kidding right? Lemme see those readouts... *peeks over the 2nd Lt.'s shoulder* (I know, I know sweatdrop But Yes for the RP. Besides I said that it wasn't all gold and it's Science Fiction so any thing is possible stare ) "It's true" He took out the readout of the reacent probe of the atomic breakdown "see here it says that the atomic makeup of the ground has an atomic number of 79 which is of course gold. I didn't belive it myself at first but you can't beat the facts can you" mrgreen

Mr. Dantes...perhaps it does have the atomic number of 79, which is gold by our tables...but we're not sure what types of elements out the the extensive universe that have that exact same atomic number. There is an infinite amount of possiblities, however it is an infinite possibility that it is gold 2. Lt. Dantes. We'll just have to get there and see.

What scans did you run? It's quite possible that the soil could be in a state of nuclear decay.

The ship has equipment advanced enough to bring up a sample and intensely analyze it's atomic superstructure. And if it is gold...we don't take any. It would be wrong to take the soil of one world. You never know out here that a few tons of dirt could prove catastrophic to the orbit of the planet.
