Kat followed them until she froze. She looked at the dog and shook her head 'no'. Tears started to run down her cheeks, "Don't!" she called out, the tears coming faster. She stared right at the dog, and her heart began to race. Her eyes glistened with a pleading sense, and she continued to shake her head. "Don't...Please..." she said, almost begging the animal. She bit down on her lip and shut herself up. She stared at the dog, and just continued shaking her head, praying to god he didn't do it. She didn't want to lose Damien.

Blood was leaking out of Damien's mouth as his heart was pumping at too immense of a pace, but then the black dog, opened it mouth, and in a deep voice asked, "You are willing to give your life for this boy?" The dog just talked...

Kat's eyes widened at this action, but she didn't even need to think about the answer to that question. "Yes...Of course." she said nodding. "I'd die for him." she said softly, but her voice rang out with sincerity. Tears continued to run down her cheek as she fell to her knees. "Please...Just don't hurt him." she said, shivering. "I'll do anything." she said softly.

The white dog then Kat, and spoke in a woman's voice, kind and caring. "She means it." The white dog then walked up to Kat and said "You truly do love him? Then take us. Not as a burden but as guidance. Take us and share us, as soon you and your lover will be one. If you wish to save him, please hold out your arms, wrists up."

Kat tilted her head slightly, confused, but she didn't ask any questions. She looked at Damien once before reluctantly, holding out her hands, and turning her wrists up. She closed her eyes, for only a moment, then opened them, staring down at her wrists, then looking up at Damien. Tears ran down her cheeks as she took in a soft, shaky breath, just staring at Damien. This was for him, and she would do anything for him, and as she looked at him, she calmed down, and just waited for them to do whatever they were going to do, hoping to get it over with.

"This may hurt." She said as they both walked over to her sides. They then bit down into her wrists, making the blood seap slowly into their mouths. "Close your eyes." The black one then instructed. On her closing her eyes, their voices became easier to hear, as if they were in her mind. The truth is they were in her mind. Her subconcious. They had left the material world or what they were in it. The woman's voice slowly came into her head as it said "Now go to him, kiss him, share your love."

Kat didn't mind the physical pain, but it hurt to know she had two more souls within her body. She closed her eyes as they instructed and cringed slightly at the pain, but then she relaxed. Kat opened her eyes when she felt their grip leave her wrists and at first she felt whoosy. She slowly stood up, listening to them and walked over to him. She pushed some hair out of his face and kneeled down, her lips touching Damien's. She took in a breath and pulled back, blood tainting her lips.

Damien's heart beat slowed and he slowly got up, looking at her straight in the eyes. "Kat." Was all he could say as he slowly got up feeling his chest. HE grabbed it in pain and then said, "Thank you Kat." A sigh was heard in her mind as the "black dog" said "God the mushy stuff." Then the "white" dog said, "That's not kind! We should at least introduce ourselves. My name is Rina, and that is Akimaru, the rude one. We are Damien's gaurdians, and we are only here as we would like to protect him. Also, you are around him the most so it makes it easier."

Kat looked into his eyes and leaned back, remaining silent. Her gaze fell to the floor and she took in a breath. She was shivering, the voices in her mind wasn't anything new to her, and she wasn't going to freak out. She just listened to them silently and spoke to them within her mind.
"It's nice to meet you two. When the other's wake up I'll introduce you. You'll be having some company. You aren't the first souls to enter my body." she said within her mind, softly. She wiggled her toes and stared down at them. She gave Damien a slight smile, and then she headed out the door, wiping his blood from her lips.

"There are more spirits inhabitingt your body?" Rina asked questioningly as Damien slowly got up and hugged her. Then Akimaru quickly said "I've had enough with this body." Then Akimaru slowly came out of Kat's wrists, not painfully, but still kind of odd. He was hard to see while he was coming out, but when he hhit the floor he became fully solid. He then turned to Kat and said "People can see me now, but you are the only one who can hear me." Rina slowly followed, and Damien simply stared at the two dogs on the ground. "Where did you get these?" He asked.

Kat just silently nodded, confirming her question. Kat looked at the dogs, and gave a soft smile. She kneeled down and stroked them for a moment, before turning to Damien, pulling out of his arms. Her eyes were filled with hurt, and the tear streaks, along with the wounds still fresh on her arms she'd inflicted upon her self earlier were only more evidence. Her eyes fell to his wounds, and she lifted his arm, to his view, her voice was wavering when she spoke. "Where did you get these?" she asked, eyes falling onto him, before she dropped his arm. She looked down at the dogs, giving a slight smile, before she headed through the door without saying another word.

"Kat!" He called, running after her with Akimaru and Rina slowly trotting behind him. Once he was about to reach Kat, Akimaru and Rina slid in front of him growling, "She doesn't want to see you right now! Give her time!" It only sounded like angry barking to Damien and he slowly backed up. Taking a deep breath and then running the other way, needing to find Kat.

Kat looked down at Akimaru and Rina, she had to admit, they were sweet creatures. "Thanks, guys." she said softly to the dogs. She shoved her hands into the depths of her pockets and continued down the hallway, eyes to the ground. She found her way to the recreation room and sprawled out on the pool table that was unoccupied and stared up at the bright lights. She turned her head and looked at the colored balls all around her, and sat up, picking the eight ball up and holding it in her hand. She gripped it tighter before she threw it against a near by wall, and watched it hit, then roll to the ground, making clanking sounds as it did. People raised their heads to look at the saddened girl, Kat wasn't her normal, cheery self. Running around and talking to everyone, being jumpy and cheerful. An older man walked up to her, and sat beside her, he was scrawny, and looked almost like a hobo. He put a thin arm around Kat and held her close. "Kat. Something is bothering you." he said softly. "What is it?" he asked, looking at her with weary, blue eyes.
Kat sighed softly and leaned her head on his shoulder, "Oh, Mr.Bugsbee. Just a little upset is all. Nothing that serious. But thanks though." she said softly, closing her eyes. He was like a grandfather to her, and Kat couldn't understand why he was in the asylum, he was perfectly fine to her. But she just enjoyed his comfort, and soon, he started telling her those tall tales she liked so much, having her laughing and smiling again was something he'd always been good at.

Akimaru and Rina slowly walked behind Kat, almost like bodygaurds. Then they took their spot underneath the pool table, nuzzling their heads on top of their arms. They made quiet small talk, so it sounded as if they were just silently growling. Not aggresive like, but happily.

"One time. There was this lake, back here I lived, down in Alabama. And it was a warm day, so all these ducks came and landed on it. And then, the temperature dropped really quickly, freezing the ducks to the lake. So the ducks tried to fly away, but when they did, they took the whole lake with them. Now I hear it's somewhere in Georgia." he said, smiling as he told the story.
Kat's eyes were lit up, as she thought of that. She knew it wasn't real, of course, but it was still a wonderful story. "Sounds amazing." she said smiling. Mr.Bugsbee, also known as Smokey laughed and nodded. "Yeah. It was." he said nodding. "I seen a lot of sights when I rode those trains all around the country. And I seen a lot of perdy girls. But you are by far the prettiest. And still you hide beneath those colorful bangs ya' got there." he said, moving her hair out of her face, like any father or grandparent would. Kat smiled, blushing slightly. "Thanks." she said softly. She hugged him gently, "You're such a great story teller." she said softly. She took in his scent, he still smelled like tobacco and whisky, but to Kat, it was the best smell in the world.
He gave a raspy chuckle and patted her back. "Ah Kat. You're a lovely girl." he said smiling. Kat pulled back and swayed her feet back and fourth. "When I get out of here Smokey. I'll take you with me. And we can see the sights together." she said smiling. The old man smiled and nodded. "That'd be wonderful." he said smiling.
