"I-I can't not use it, I need to take notes." Kaleb said with a frown. "But I'll take care of it." Then he paused, and an almost miserable look crossed his face. "D-do you mean you won't practice with me for a few days?"

"We can practice again when that's healed and you're not crippled." He laughed. "It's no fun if i have a easy way to hurt you"

Kaleb frowned again. "I'm not crippled! It's really not that bad at all!" He insisted, a frustrated tone entering his voice. "Can we practice tomorrow if you don't want to practice again today?"

"Maybe." He eyed Kaleb. "Have that thing wrapped and we'll see. Don't think i'm doing anything tomorrow unless the boss decides to drag me to that meeting rather than Tseng"
Rude snorted at that idea.

Kaleb nodded eagerly in response. "I will! And I'll put ice on it!" He supposed he could even give it a rest and not write with it for the night, it would be worth it if Reno would practice with him again the next day. He shifted and winced a bit, now wishing for ice and wondering if he should just use his magic to generate a nice, cold substitute.

"I'm sure we could go scrounge up an ice pack from somewhere" They had to have them in the labs for when things got messy.

"You could?" Kaleb's eyes lit up hopefully. Ice would reduce the swelling, which would reduce the pain and make it easier to use. That in turn meant Reno would be more likely to practice with him tomorrow.

His boots thunked as they hit the floor and he sauntered over to one of the refrigerators in the room. After rooting around for a bit he tossed a bright blue icepack at Kaleb. "There we go"

Kaleb caught the icepack with both hands, wincing a bit and setting the cold item on the table next to him. "Thanks, Reno. Do you know if I could find a cloth or towel to wrap it in?" He asked timidly, it was better to have something between the icepack and the injury.

He smirked like he was going to say something dirty but eventually dug out some sort of cloth and brought it over to Kaleb. "Here ya go"

Kaleb didn't notice the smirk, or if he did he certainly didn't interpret it properly. "Thanks!" He chirped happily, smiling and wrapping up the icepack so he could put it against his wrist. He twisted his head around to look for a clock, he didn't want to end up leaving the icepack on for too long.

There was a nice boring white and black clock stuck on one wall not far from Rude's shoulder.
"Gotta make sure you're fast enough next time to not get smacked across the wrist"

Kaleb turned back to Reno and nodded cheerfully. "I will. You won't touch my wrist tomorrow." He smiled lopsidedly, but he spoke in a voice that was too innocent and honest to be considered bragging.

"Maybe," Kaleb muttered, his face going serious for a minute. It was likely the next match would end in the same way as today's, with him twitching on the floor, but he would be able to put up a better fight if Reno kept his pants on. "I'll try to avoid it, that shock really hurt."
