"Ahh good your awake. I was afraid I just knocked out two guards for nothing. Heheh." She smiled as she pulled up a chair and sat next to Kinami. "I had heard you weren't doing to well and decided to come pay you a visit. I was really hoping to find you in higher spirits cause I had a favor to ask of you. If you want, I can just leave the food and come back another time. I know how horrid hospital food can be so I brought you some home cooked stuff."
She opened up the basket to let the aroma of several different items fill the room. They were all quite well made.

Kinami's stomach let out a deep growl. She blushed and ducked her head, smiling slightly. "Food would be well appreciated. The food here is terrible, and the only reason I can get it down is because I've built up an immunity over the years." She looked up and smiled sardonically, a touch of bitterness staining the smile.

Ryoko noticed the bitter taste to Kinami's lips and looked to her for a moment. She then reached down and picke dup a bowl of miso. It smelled horrible but according to the ancient masters, the worse it smells, the better it tastes. She handed it to Kinami and smiled "Try this, I've never made Miso befor and wanted to try it. Smells like crap but if the old legends are true, it should taste like god given mouth sex." She laughed hard as she took some meatbuns in her hands and began to bite off one.
She looked to Kinami for a oment and then swallowed hard. "Well, I guess I should jsut come out and ask you...I want to be a ninja Kinami...I want to learn your ways but when my parents tried to get me into the village before you became the Kage...the village counsel denyed me since I wasn't born here and had no ninja in my family to speak of. There was osme other stuff but I was too young to remember..so...think it's possible?"

Kinami took the soup immediately and didn't even bother with a spoon- she just began to drink it directly from the bowl. It was bitter, but she didn't care- it was much better than the rations in her current residence. She polished it off with a half-ear tuned to Ryoko. She licked her lips thoughtfully, then nodded. "I'm sure that can be arranged- I can even set you up with a job, probably. Would that work?"

A glint appeared in Ryoko's eyes. A good glint. She smiled as she handed Kinami a bowl of fried rice with some sweet and sour pork on the side. She turned her smiled into a grin and fixed herself a bowl and began to eat. "That'd be great but I still need to learn all the tricks of the ninja trade. As you saw in our fight, all I know are some basic taijutsus. Most of my other martial arts wouldn't work on a ninja due to your various escape tricks like Kawarimi and Kage Bunshin...and my son can only teach me the school jutsus..."

((Ryoko is Roy's mom. I started rollplaying her so she has a scroll and everything. I just liked her character when I was thinking it up so I make her a real character. Her and Kinami had a fight in the free battle arena))

Kinami had been wolfing down the rice and pork, and nearly choked with her next thought. "Um, you know that you'll have to attend academy classes, right?" She ducked her head and hid a smile when she thought of someone (quite probably rather close to her own age) like Ryoko attending courses with a girl half her age. Keiko would have a fit.

Ryoko looked to Kinami...she had to be joking...she had better be joking cause if she wasn't...well...seeing as how much Kinami liked to eat Ryoko's cooking, it wouldn't be to hard to slip some Arsenic in the next batch...In small traces you can't tell a thing. Ryoko simply laughed it off and went back to eating.
"Seriously, what do I need to do?"

Kinami smiled. "Oh, yeah, it's a rule. If you really want to be a ninja, you wouldn't care if you had to be among a bunch of gradeschoolers." She finished the last grains of rice and proceeded to lick the bowl clean. "Besides, it's funny as hell to think of you learning from a young chunin half your age."

Ryoko sighed. She didn't think the woman was being funny anymore. Was she really going to have to go to school for this? "But I'm already learning the jutsus from my son. Doesn't that count for anything? Bah...if I have to I have to I suppose...but its gonna be so weird..." Ryoko sighed a bit and sat back groaning..."

Kinami put the bowl down, her face completely serious. "I'm not kidding, Ryoko. If I were to let you become a ninja without going through the academy, that shows favoritism. I would be sending a message to people that, so long as they study fighting on their own and get their reflexes up, they can bypass every other law in place and become a ninja just by waiting a few years. People would become angry- after all, they had to go to the academy. This way, nobody can fault me for favoritism, nothing changes that would upset the system of the village, and you learn a few other details that need to be known and discovered only by being taught in the academy, and not by someone who might forget because they were only there to learn and not teaching it over and over again every year."

Ryoko grumbled. She couldn't really argue with Kinami's logic. It made perfect sense. All Ryoko could do was sigh. She then looked to Kinami with an equally serious face. While Ryoko didn't mind going to school, she refused to do so in her current state. She couldn't bare the embarrisment. She set her bowl down and then bowed to Kinami "Fine. I accept your terms but off but a small one of my own. I ask that you teach me the Henge jutsu before I enter the academy so that I may take the form of a child while there. As I'm sure you can understand, there would be far too much commotion and distraction if someone of my age and...umm build entered the academy as I am..."

Sword in the Shadows Katare had been staring into the room for a long while now, not entirely sure what else he could do. In fact, he didn't even notice that Roy was waiting for him right outside the room. Eventually, he stopped daydreaming.. "Oh, hey Roy." Katare's eyes stopped moving, and his face molded into one of concern and sadness in a matter of moments. "I wanted to tell you that.. I.. I'm sorry about the whole pushing-you-out-the-window thing. I was.. not exactly in the correct state of mind. I was... My mind was somewhere else." Katare's mind seemed to be somewhere else even then.. and it was hard to keep his mind from drifting. "Well, I figure you can't forgive me for that anytime soon, but I just wanted to tell you that I didn't mean to..." Katare looked at the floor, wondering if Roy would be as understanding as Kinami; Unlike Kinami, Roy hasn't been through something like that himself, so he might not know what it's like... Roy looked to Katare for a long moment...he really had no clue what kinds of things people like Kinami and Katare felt. He hadn't been through any real heartache or pain...he was simply a normal boy. He sat there for a moment then simply jabbed katare playfully in the forehead. "Chill out...I know your crazy...so is Kinami...I'ms tarting to think Iwagakura might be sitting on some sort of Insanity natural wonder or something..." He laughed a bit..."Eah...I heard you call me dad...so I figured you had flipped...I forgive you...this time...Your a nutcase...I'll let it slide... this time...do it again and I'll beat you to a bloody pulp, got that?" Roy grinned to him.
