"I'll alert the entire ship of your presence. I don't know what weapon your talking about, but you wont even get close to an exit before you're caught. The only way I'll keep your presence a secret..." Rue gave Artisen a stern look. "Is if you let the girl go. She wont talk to anyone, but i wont have her be a holster for your gun. After that, I'll help you however you'd like." He knew that it was a cheap bargain, but Rue could have the ship in full alert if he wanted in a few seconds. His comm was still linked to the bridge and Klera would be quick enough to stop this guy.

One last sinapse, one final spark as the conection shattered: a feeling. One that jared Gray back into reality, adrenaline flooding his limbs and canceling the sedative. "Kayako! They're going-I, I...!!" It was gibberish, a rush of words that was nearly incoherent, tumbling form Gray as he jolted upright. Certain memories where suddenly flooding back, and he had a sinking feeling why only those memories where being stirred: Kayako was facing a fate akin to his own, and something told him it involded the blasted driver that huanted his actions! With a shriek, the inverse driver released a blast of light and gust of hot air swirled over the room.... The tell-tale red X make returned, and Gray's eyes somed to glaze over. Mechanicaly, he shoved the covers asie and leaped to his feet, knocking a suprised Dr. linden aside; the Inverse driver wreathed in a halo of purple light. Looking down at the shocked man, Gray spoke in harse, forced tones, his vioce overshadowed by another sound. "Go...I have to go... now, I need to, lest another...It must be mended...." Jerkily grabbing his sneakers, Gray darted away with bizzare ability-one moment, the device had been iradicaly reacting, and now it had suddenly stabilized... Oblivous, barely in touch with reality, Gray homed in on a fammilar pull, skidding into the hangar and coming to halt next to his LFO, mercury. Battered from the last battle the combination of damaged board and bent fin would make reaching the nessisary speeds impossible, unless he could unbend that fin....! Puasing only for a second, Gray leapt up and sized the curved armor plating of his LFO, climbing up it's body to reach the fin in the space of a minute. It was no quality repair, but it should allow mercury to at least hit mach 1.5. Oddly enough, the Driver seemed to have spurred him on, it's one benifitial action in all of his experiance. The haze and X's were fading, but guilt, urgency and a strange bond continued to galvanize Gray-thankfully, there had been no major physical injury to his person, other than the sudden malfunction of the Inverse Drive.. With a strained cry, Gray braced himself agianst the unbent fin and pushed the other's bent section with his legs. After what felt like forever, the strut groaned, then gave way to his pushes, bending slowly back into roughly it's corect shape. Gray sighed, wiping sweat from his brow. By now, someone would obviously have been informed of what he was doing, but he didn't belong, and he had a critical act to perform... disregarding a few intercom anouncements pertaining to his sudden departure, Gray climbed to the still open section of Mercury's cockpit, rapidly closing it and strapping himself in. "....Sorry to run, but I should have bothered you all in the first place...farewell. Let's go, Mercury-!" Gray commented, glanciing at the hangar before starting mercury. With shocking ease, the LFO came online, both eyes pulsing with green light. Grabbing it's board, it pried the locking bar of the hangar slot off, setting of several hangar alarms as it shoved it's way out of it's docking stall and stumbled across the hangar floor, reaching the bay doors. Sheathing it's board on it's back hooks, the battered Mecha braced it's feet and began forcing the doors, setting off more pressure alarms and various automated "warning!" anouncements. Gray let out a slow breath, mental begging Mercury to suceed. C'mon, C'mon. every second-! With a almightly shove and scream of metal, Mercury managed the feat, opening the doors enough for a lone LFO to squeeze outside. With one final glance, Gray sent Mercury fowards, sprinting and jumping of the luanch ramp, plunging off and away from the Rehk. "I'll come back with your pilot...or I won't come back at all. Goodbye..." Gray breathed, triggering Mercury's board. In a plume of green trapar, Mercury unhooked it's board and REFFed off, sliding up and down the trapar waves. Gray looked ahead at the line of clouds and sighed, noting the dropping sun; night was close... Checking mercuries position and stability, he began typing on the control panels, keying in the waveform he'd glimpsed. If Mercury had shown him what he though it had, then.... He w as rewarded by a mechanized beep, and simple message. "Compac drive found, radar lock activated." "Yes....Go, Mercury-!!" The LFO twisted, zigzaged a bit, then acellerated off, tracing the frequency... ((forgive my god-modding, but Tolly did a similar act to move on when Kyako vanished; I needed to get the plot flowing agian. Can I be forgiven for this one litlle post?))

(( That wasn’t so godmodding. Some times things like that are required to happen. It all just depends on the situation.))
Artisen glanced between the two and smirked.
“Rue, please. If anything, you’re the one I need to remove. I only need one pilot to scrape up my mess.” He reached forward and pulled Nic’s arm behind her back. Forcefully he twisted it in an awkward position. They continued down the hall until they reached the hanger.
“But for now I’ll use both of you. Rue, see that little crack in the wall there.” He pointed at an odd cut out in the wall, one that had been previously unnoticeable. “That is where he’s been hiding it. A weapon that could be used in the development of…” He cut his words off and shook his head. “Never thought I would get that close to screwing up.” Tightly he pressed the gun deeper. “Hurry Rue, get the weapon and I’m out of here.”
---
“What’s with this?” Klera moaned at the computer console before her. She was now in the command room, staring hopelessly. The computer was shut off, and unwilling to turn on.
“Gail is going to be ticked if I don’t give an appropriate communication’s report.” Bending down she reached her hands forward and unclipped a small box from the top. “Although the machine is off, this little box should have picked up any sent messages.” She smiled in satisfaction and sat down. Her hands attentively picked at its little controls. Ten minutes later she had it working.
---
“Don’t worry Kayako, I’ll take special care of you.” Xellien said with soothing flow. He gently raised his hand. Two men rushed forward and gripped her in masculine arms. A third pulled out a needle like gun that sparkled to the tip. Carefully, yet swiftly, he breached the tip into her neck. The small container at the back emptied its greenish liquid.
“That will sedate her for now.” A man quickly announced and the three pulled her to the bed in the middle. Four men picked her up and strapped her down. With casual motion, Xellien slipped on his white gloves.
“Indeed it will, Kayako.” His voice wisped into her ears as the drug took its toll. Things slowly sped up as the scientist started to move around her in blurs. Occasionally Xellien’s voice would whisper a word of confidence. Sharp bright objects would appear above her like swerving ghosts. Like a bright sun the ceiling light hung above her. Its color dimmed slightly as time increasingly passed.
“NO.” Xellien’s powerful voice crashed into her ears, but it was slightly warped from the drug’s effects. “Let me do this, I’ll make sure this is done right.” Xellien’s face appeared above her. If he had his smile on, it was hidden under a mask.
“Don’t worry Kayako.” He whispered in a gentle, caring voice. “I’ll make sure that you make it through this. This is my vow unto you.” Slowly the drug took its final effects, and she was locked away in a dark sleep.
(( Heh heh, hope you dont mind Kayako. If you do, I will remove it. ))

Nic tried not to let anything slip out, but a slight moan of pain escaped from her. Instantly Nic looked down, not thinking she put all her weight on to Artisen and pushed back a bit. 'Steady steady...' Nic thought to herself. She didn't care if Rue had heard her or not, all that was needed was for this guy to be rid of.

They can't DO this!!! That b*****d....how dare he!! He'll pay for this!!!
Kayako's fog-filled mind pulsated every chance it got, in a desperate last-ditch attempt to stay in control. She figured that if she could keep fighting it now, then maybe, just maybe she'd be able to take control of the inverse drive, and keep it from overpowering her.
She might have some slim chance of avoiding the same fate as Gray.
In her mind's eye, the energy's around Kayako collided and fought for control. The blue, familiar light of herself, and the red light that was undoubtedly the influence of the object that was now becoming part of her. Presented to her as if in a dream, she was alone in an orb of her own energy, fighting off the waves of pressure from the machine that wanted her life so badly. It wasn't something easy for anyone to do....and she needed help.
'Senturi.....!!'
She linked with her distant LFO with her thoughts, wherever he was.
The space behind her opened like a vortex, and the LFO she hadn't seen since her last connection with Gray slid through the opening, leaning over her to help sheild her from attack. Though physically it was far away, she could here it's voice as clear as she always had.
'This one does not wish to change anymore.....'
She looked up.
'I won't let it......Those morons don't have the right to make us become anything we don't want to! I don't care if the created me........THEY DON'T CONTROL ME ANYMORE!!!'
Senturi's arms wrapped around her, and the light between them connected and spread. The red light of the inverse drive shifted around them, splitting apart and swirling like a hurricane.
Blue light cut through red, each time creating a small whirlwind of colliding energy. Pressure pulsed like a heartbeat, first fast, then slower. The lightning storm struggle for power raged for what seemed like forever.
Then, one final cut, a blue ray of energy shot through the chaos, aimed at a place where Kayako couldn't see. As it made contact, the array of activity haulted unexpectedly, as if the source of the conflict had taken a vital blow.
Then everything changed.
The two sides began to incase and mix with each other, turning the entire scene into a mist of shining blue-violet light. The whirlwinds haulted and vanished, the lightning spread out in a shimmer of dust.
Suddenly the pressure seemed to lift, the energies haulted and flowed together like water. When Kayako looked up, she could no longer feel the same sense of urgency as before...........And finally Senturi spoke again.
'Do not worry....we will not change.....this light belongs to us now..................'
Kayako's vision faded out, the arena and it's contents vanished. She smiled, as she lost conciousness and everything turned black.
(((Svener: this is part of my plan, no tampering! Also, in lay-man's terms, the above narration just means she won, and to the dordoff scientists, experiment appears to be a 'success')))

Gray's breath cuaght in his throat. "u-ah, ahhh!!!" The inverse drive glowed in it's standard fashion, but brighter than usuall and with red light exploding over it's vein-like circutry, a high-pitched ringing coming from it. "NooOO! No, NOO! " Gray screamed in a mix of guild, anger, and saddnes. He slamed his hands down in fists, striking the dashboard of the cockpit. Panting raggedly, Gray slumped foward, staring hollowly out at the clouds ahead. the driev acting like that only confirmed his hunch-the inverse drive was reacting to another ...a second driver... He was to late, he'd sent kayako to the inferno and the rope had burned throught... "no, no, no nonononono..." Gray mumbled, repeating the word like a dread chant, some spell that could undo the damage done. Mercury continued streaking along the skyline even as it's pilot fought of greif, but in it's current state, it could only reach half it's max speed. Slowly, like some burning cinder, Gray's greif melted into anger. Anger at himself, and at the UF... A tremble began, almost in time with the aching the Inverse drive was now giving off. In a sudden outburst, Gray's temper flared violently. "SHUT UP, YOU STUPID DRIVER-!!! ARRAAAHHH, NO!! NO, NOO-!! I DIDN'T...I WON'T LEAVE HER...!!" Strangely enough, Mercury's speed began to rise further, as though it's pilot's sudden fury was channeled into power for it. In a green whirl of etheral energies, Mercury's speed jumped higher, despite it's scratched-up state. blurring into a coment-like image, the LFO exploded across the darkened sky, fueled by the most potent of power sources... emotion.((bleh, how am I doing? I don't wanna be overly dramatic. Also, this OCC will be deleted when I get a reply, as not to trhead-clutter.))

Rue did as he was told. It was a farce and he knew it, but it was worth a shot. He sighed and walked to the cut in the wall. Nic had to be let free. Damn how could he go along with this guy? he opened up the wall and looked in. The weapon was puzzeling. "So...what the hell is this thing!?" He looked back at the man holding Nic.

(( Heheheh, the inverse drive isn’t simply a mind controlling device. It works differently, besides, I just plainly don’t like mind controlling devices.))
Xellien smiled at his little alteration.
“The effects haven’t been activated yet.” A scientist stated as he pressed a few buttons. “Now attempting to activate the signal.” He started, but Xellien’s hand shot out and gripped his.
“No… don’t activate it, only activate the impulse signal.” He told in a clear voice. The man frowned in confusion, not agreeing in the least.
“But the impulse won’t do anything…” The man defended and ripped his hand away.
“The time isn’t right yet, I’m developing a new program. And let me give you an example of something.” Xellien stepped away and stared down at the sleeping Kayako.
“This one won’t simply be broken, Jacob. I had that talk with her to study her strength. She has a strong will and soul, but that’s not what makes this almost impossible. She has a set path, and she has it clearly in her mind. There is no fog or anything to turn her away. A strong will and soul isn’t the problem, only hope and desire. But changing examples, what do you think happens to large boulder under a waterfall?” Xellien questioned inquisitively. Jacob laughed and shifted his attention to Kayako as well.
“It will simply erode until it’s gone.” He responded amusedly.
“Exactly.” Xellien stepped forward with that same silent sparkle, “So keep the impulse for now… and we’ll wait until the time is right.” He continued to watch Kayako with a small smile.
---
Artisen smirked and shoved Nic forward.
“Good, that is exactly what I wanted.” He studied the device with large glorifying eyes.
“Incase you’re wondering, this is a device that the U.F. asked Gail to transfer several years back. When he discovered what it was, he refused to continue the trade. Instead he’s been running from the U.F. and keeping it with him. Take that and load it into that cart over there.” He shoved Nic forward again and motioned the cart with a tilt of his head. Once Rue finished, Artisen suddenly raised his gun and knocked the hilt against Nic’s head, knocking her out. It was a light tap, and would only last a minutes.
“Good, now Rue, you can take her out of here.” Artisen pointed his gun at Rue and started to move towards the cart. When he was close enough, he turned and pushed it forward. He pushed it into the small shuttle from before.
“That was a waste of time.” Artisen chucked as he glanced between the two. “But I’ve always wanted to do that. Sorry for the trouble Rue, I hope you stay you the way you are.” He turned around and pushed the cart in further, but then stopped again. “And also Rue… be careful of those who you choose to trust.” His eyes fell on Nic, and the smirk from before faded. “You don’t know enough Rue…” The smirk returned and he gave a small salute.
“Cya.” He chuckled and the hatch closed. The hanger door drifted opened, letting bursts of wind to flush into the hanger. Brightly the back of the shuttle exploded and it shot out of hanger. It sped away, quickly shrinking into nothing but a small dot in the distance.

The pressure on the driver increased, as well as the steady blip of the radar. The clouds whipping past blurred into one mottled continuity as Gray's anger and grief drove him to a singular focus. Abruptly, the rush of clouds erupted into an azure sea of open sky, and in the middle of it...
the Lonjinus!
Exploding up from the clouds, a green becon of light trailed by a similarily colored plume of trapar arced upwards, then curled downwards; streaming straight at the UF vessel and gaining further speed as it hurled downward in a frenzied rush. Yanking out it's Boomerang Knives as Gray sent his LFO diving at the aircraft, It's eye's pulsed with neon green light. "KAYAKO-!!!"

As Nic slowly came back into conciousness, her vision still blurd she reached for the dagger on her leg and held it out to who ever was holding her. Realizing it was Rue her jaw dropper and Nic let her hand fall to the floor. Toching the back fo her head where she had been hit, finding nothing at the moment but she knew there would be something later. "I...I didn't know...it was you I..." Nic said looking up.

"Do you really believe I am so blind that I'd just stay asleep like a child?" she thought silently. "You don't know me at all......do you?"
Though she still appeared to be asleep to her attacker, Kayako was very much awake. The effects of her earlier battle against the inverse drive had only lasted a few moments. Luckily for her, she was concious long enough to learn a great deal about what was going on.
"Well...that answers one question at least..............Hmph. What a stupid metaphor. I am not a boulder....not at all.........I am the wind. And the wind doesn't listen to anyone."
It took a great bit of effort to stop herself from laughing at what she'd just thought. After all, she didn't really feel like dealing with the managery of scientists still hovering around.
"Geez, at the very least it could've been someone a little better looking. It figures....how come I always get stuck with some idiot? Oh well.....he'll look much better without a head."

Nic couldn't seem to say anything else to Rue. She no longer held the dagger in her hand she let it lay there on the floor. She wanted to tell him all that she felt and just try to reach out to him and tell him it would be ok. But there was nothing that would let her.
