I watched Gravitation in English first though... I don't have a preference for that... and yea, the jokes didn't translate which was annoying...
*shrug* If given the option I sometimes get lazy and since I multi task even when I watch anime at times, I end up switching it to English. But, Host Club is something I haven't been able to watch in English and so... I love it the way it is. <3 Everybody's voice is perfect for them! But I think my favorites have to be Tamaki, Hikaru's and Haruhi's voices.
So... erm, I don't really ever have a preference. Some voices I like better in English, other in Japanese. ^^

*sweat* Sorry if I came off as a b***h there.. I can be and am a lot of the time. I'm really for host club in Japanese... when Renge pops up and they all realize she's an otaku... and they all freak and shout "OTAKU!" And ... I think they shout 'oktaku da' but... since I'm not that great with japanese and haven't practiced anything for a while... I'm not sure if that even makes sense... Anyways, words like that are going to be lost, and the songs such as Mata Ashita will be lost... But I will say this... Anime's like Fullmetal Alchemist are RARE. Where it's perfect in Japanese and english. Chobits... I thought Crispen did a better job than the Japanese seiyuu... just because he was a little more spastic... So I guess it really does depend...

But... Otaku is a common word in the anime world? Why wouldn't they just keep using it...? *sigh* And they could always put liner notes on the DVD to explain it.
I haven't watched much FMA, but they do have nice voices - except... well, Al's bothers me to no end. But everybody else's is fine. ^^
And don't worry - you don't sound like a b***h. I have moments like that too.

Yeah, don't worry about it Marik; we all have our preferences with anime. Ocassionally I'll watch dubs under certain circumstances (like if it's playing on TV or if it's Ghost Stories... Ghost Stories is better dubbed... period...) but I usually prefer the Japanese. Even if some of the dub voices are better, while I can appreciate them, I still prefer to watch the content as it was originally meant to be. (I still watched all episodes of Ghost Stories in Japanese even though the dub is clearly better)

I don't... think I've heard of Ghost Stories... either that or my brain took a vacation for a few days without leaving notice... TWO WEEKS NOTICE DAMNIT!! *hits head* *ahem* Yeah, but they just don't do that anymore for some reason... *sighs* Al's voice... Let's see, I've done two perfect (supposedly) english dub impressions before, without even meaning to... Alphonse elric and Seto Kaiba. XDDD I've actually done Al a few times, each time freaked me out. But the one time I did Seto... I was actually trying to elaborate on something LK said in TAS... Everyone just stares at me, so I've got like, ten eyes on me... And they were like O_o; '...That sounded like... Seto...' <.< I don't know if it really did but it made one of my friends squee, and another of them made a comment that made me kick them in the shin. "...Is there something you want to tell us?" But I'm just spastic and love doing things with my voice... (no I don't have false hopes of becoming a voice actor... I wanna be a novelist!!! ^_^) Anyways...

But... sounding like Al. That's creepy... really creepy.

O_O Y-yami Bakura??? *kidnaps you and forces you to do Yami Bakura impressions for the rest of your life* XD Nah, really is it that creepy to sound like Al? I enjoy manking up my voice... I've gotten better at it apparently because when I'm in the shower doing random voices my dad'll come knock on the door and seriuosly be like "WHO'S IN THERE WITH YOU!!!!???" XD It's like "yes dad, there's a young boy in my shower with me. I thought I told you last time you banged on my bathroom door.. I'm into younger boys..." O_O (I like older men in truth... XD) It's also easy for me to do Fay/Fai/Fye's impression ... The Japanese one of course, because I refuse to watch the english version... *is picky*

Heh... ^^;; I won't let myself be kidnapped that easily. *sweatdrop* And it hurts my throat.. so I doubt I could do it the rest of my life without losing my voice forever. XD;
Al's voice scares me.... it's creepy! So yes, it would scare me.... ^^;

XD I love imitating voices also. Apparently I'm really good at doing Yuugi's and Peggy Chan's. (Japanese) I can also do Mai and Kaiba decently from the Abridged Series. Oh, and Yami no Bakura's Japanese laugh... that one's fun to do...
