[>:0 Okay wakey wakey xD Mayhaps Kit or Kimondo could like find us er somthing, no?]

Teule stretched, arching his back just as his mother was doing at the vyer moment. The sun was just peeking over the horizon and dripping light onto the felines and foxs' pelts. Teule was blinking away his sleep while Taka shook out her tail and turned around in a circle. The cheetah then lifted her head up high, lighting her in a way that amde her seem even more regal then she already was. She sniffed the air, feeling a touch of moisture in it along with the scents of the cubs, fox...and another lion? Taka swiveled her head up high, placing her forelegs on the slim, dry tree to a get a better view but couldn't see anyone.

Where were they? Rain was said to bless the Mistweaver's weakness, but there was no telltale jungle. And this not rain alone. In the foreboding clouds hung the promise of downpour accompanied by all-encompassing darkness. In the dark clouds even Dama's light pelt might be disguised, and his escape would not be ruined by the slow pace she necessitated. But what lands were they approaching?
Reverie broken by his young companion's voice, Kitwana nodded gimly, not yet sure that this storm was a blessing. Unless they got to high ground, they could be in trouble. The ground was dry and cracked from the drought, and would not absorb much water before flooding.
Still, they had been moving down this valley for a fair time, and the sandy wake about them was receding, the dunes almost at an end. The border was nigh.

Motioning for his companion to stop for a moment, the slave climbed what little was left of an incline, keen gaze directed back over the desert in search of any Firekin tracker. Thankfully, none caught his eye, and wandering back down, his quick glance was an indication for Dama to start walking once more.

Realising now that the child had not the skills and knowledge forced upon himself, the adolescent's eyes raked over her lanky form. Were they to encounter others, they needed a story, and no one would believe she was a hunter, seperated from the hunt.
"Kid, what do you actually know? Anything in that head, or are you as useless with most things as you are with hunting? Do you know about the borders?"

Dama paused, sitting on her haunches to rest as Kitwana scanned behind them. Welcome was the rest, no matter how short, to her weary legs and paws. She too turned to look back behind them, but was not as high as he was, and therefore couldn't see as much as he could. She yawned softly as he wandered back down to her, slowly groaning as she got back to her feet. Kitwana's gaze upon her form, however, made her raise her head to look at him questioningly. His question was a good one, one that she could perhaps shed some light on.

"I've heard much of the borders.....The King despises those who reside on the otherside of our borders." She paused for a moment, paw up in the air, frozen midstep, pondering and muddling through what she'd heard. "The huntresses often disappear across those borders, returning with awful stories of things they have done. If what they said is true....these lands should be the...." She gasped softly as she reached the top of the rise to gaze upon the lands that stretched out ahead of them. "The pridelands....." Gazing in awe of the lush land that appeared in the horizon ahead of them. A moment of silence escaped her before she turned to him again. "The pridelands are said to be a rouge's paradise....the pride there welcomes newcomers, as long as the newcomers mean no harm. Waka and Sumba didn't like that. I heard them a couple of times, cursing the pridelanders, but for what reason, I do not know...." That was where her knowledge ended. Even she knew when she'd heard to much and had the brains to scamper away before being discovered. Dama wrinkled her nose for a moment before glaring at her older 'brother.' "I am only useless at hunting because I don't know how!" Indeed, the little lioness had naught the chance to learn on her own, always being caught by Jua, or one of the other Blood, and cuffed sharply for trying to learn. When it was required that she hunt, and came up with nothing, she was also beaten. It had been a no win situation for the little lioness, but she'd tried her best to get past that. At least she could bring down a rabbit. But how was a little lion to bring down a big gnu, or a gazelle, when she only came up to the animal's knees? If that?

Welcome rogues? Well, no wonder he'd never been told much of them. Of the conquests over the Mistweavers, sure, those they let him hear in gory detail, descriptions of attrocities still ringing in his ears to this day, but something of this sort never occurred to him, that a pride might accept those not pure.
"Tell you what, kid. If what you say is true, I'll teach you to hunt. If you're wrong... hell, if you're wrong, we're dead, so you better be right."
He was surprised that she had the gaul to snap at him. If he was going to be stuck getting snapped at by cubs, perhaps a bit of flooding wasn't such a bad thing.

Almost amused by this mental quip, a smirk rounded over Kitwana's muzzle, the first expression to break his resolute frown since he had fled Makadari. In some small part of him, a flame of adventure was flickering back to life, something more than the simple instinct to survive which drove most of the slave's actions.

Around them the dunes were almost flat now, thin tendrils of black clouds spiralling to meet them. A soft gust of cool, electric wind caressed the adolescent's ragged form gently, the first gentle touch from the elements in Kitwana's memory. He was used to a harsh beating sun, and sand whipped against his flank in dizzying waves. It seemed that even the base elements frowned upon the lands of the blood, and now out of this rugged terrain were they emerging.

The fox had fallen asleep during guard and quickly snapped awake at the movement of the others, she glanced around for a moment then stood nudging Wokovu awake, suprisingly it wasn't hard for the little nodtornal creature to change her schedule a bit..

Wokovu growled opening one eye sleepily, though everything was blurred.. so he opened the other one, only to be greeted with the bright sun peeking up in the distance. he gave a sharp mewl pullin ghis head away and sat up groggily with a yawn "m-morning"

Taka backed down off the tree and kept her head high, in line with a breeze that was pushing scents toward her, ones of antelope, maybe a herd. She licked her chops eagerly, taking a peek at Teule who was having a hard waking up. She nudged him with her hind foot since he was behind her and rolled him over on his back which made him jump up, not enjoying the rude upside awakening. He groggily growled at her and stretched again, giving Woko a good morning smile.

"What's your problem, ma?"

Yakuti shifted a bit finding it hard to keep her paws still, the cheeta was obviously hungry.. she was a bit hungry herself. This thought unnerved her though as she was normally food for the large speedy cat, miles away from her den.. if the cheeta chose so she could catch her in a few seconds easily.
but she pushed the instincts down as she had when she first adopted the cub that was now playing with her tail. She frowned at him pulling the tail to her side and trotting away from the playful cub.

Wokovu whined and rolled back to his paws as his toy walked away. "aw man.." his attention shifted to a small scorpion skittering across the sand. A small grin curled on his maw as he started to stalk the crawly creature, though he didn't know it was dangerous at the time.

Taka slwoly ltore her gaze away from the flecks of black antelope in the distance. Teule watched his brother and follwoed Woko's gaze to something that was scurrying around the ground. Instantly, he was up behind his brother looking over his shoulder at what he was stalking.

"What's that, Woko?"

Taka looked at the cubs, not seeing the tiny menace in the sand and then turned towards Yakuti, a questioning look in her eyes. the antelope were a bit far away and they might be too hungry and tired to walk all the way to the herd which was also going to be on the move soon. She seemed troubled and not having an answer to this vital question.

"Yakuti, what do you think we should do for food? Those antelope are much to far away and heavy for me to go and bring back..."

Wokovu shrugged, his mom had caught him some awhile back. So they couldn't be too bad "Iunno, but they're some sort of food, i've eaten them before!" he kept his eyes locked on the little scorpion slowly following it, stopping when it froze from feeling the lion cub following it.

Yakuti shifted uncomfortably as the cheeta neared her, but stayed put, sighing in releif a the question, she wasn't goign to eat her.. just ask her about food. "I could get some insects for the cubs.. i'm still full from that meal yesterday, and then we could move on a bit til we got somethign larger for everyone.." she offered, glancing around as her ears picked up the soft sounds of the little creature moving the grains of sand but ignored it for the moment.

"Sounds good, though, I'm not sure how Teule would handle bugs to eat and I can help if you want but I never hunted bugs before."

She snickered at the thought and took up looking at the antelope. They were still grazing but hadn't moved any farther, give or take a foot or two. Teule looked unsurely at the insect as it stopped, pushing his brther forward to paw at it only because he'd had experience with it.

"Touch it!"

When Kimondo walked out of the cave after bidding afond farewell to Kiu she slipped alongside the den where some shade was lingering and allowed herself to collapse there to rest for the time being. She wasn't use to the heat of the desert yet, and taking down that antelope had taken quite a bit out of her reserves. A yawn moved through her and she did nothing to stiffle it. Stretching her limbs she positioned herself right alongside the den to avoid any contact with the blazing sun. Once comfortable she sighed contently and allowed her tired eyes to droop close. Her breathing evened out as she feel into a light, but peaceful slumber.

Makdari stalked the caves of the Firekin den. He hadn't been able to find Kitwana, and no one seemed to know where he was. He'd find him... eventually.

For now, he went to find Kinja. She was laying in the shade near the entrance to the den. He'd seen her at the oasis earlier, drinking water. Makadari narrowed his eyes. Surely the lioness knew that drinking too much water was a sin? Water was precious here; the only thing they had was the oasis, and if it dried up none of the lions would survive.

Kinja. I saw you at the oasis earlier today. Might I ask what you were doing there?

Kimondo opened her eyes as she sensed someone approaching her. Upon further inspection she saw that Makadari was standing directly over her. Pushing herself up onto her haunches to sit she listened to what the king had to say before coming up with a reply to his question.

"Traveling through the desert for so long had parched my throat. After drinking a little water I layed down to rest for a few minutes." She answered as honestly as she could without throwing any hints that might cause him any suspicion of her. She felt assured that he would accept this answer though. Would any lion be thirsty after traveling the desert for days on end, even the Firekin?

Yakuti nodded ears swivling around to listen for sounds.. again the first thing she heard was the little thing skittering across the sand. She blinked trying to pinpoint where it was exactly..

Wokovu gulped as he was pushed foreward "w-why should i touch it?" he blinked, what was wrong with him! he's eaten these things before. "fine." he growled leaning down and raising his paw to swat at it.
He boped it once pulling his paw away and jumping back as the litte bug reared at him and hissed. He hadn't quite expected something so small to make that noise and now it was coming after him.

The poor little cub paniced and reared around running away from the mad little bug. Yakuti watched the cub panic and run past her yelling something about crazed bugs and chuckled to herself.
