fatcheehcs fonbebbles fatcheehcs whoa a texas thread? band has kept me off this site for a while. anyways i'm from houston if anyone cared to know. there are no great high school bands here so... ouch......that hurts considering i'm from westfield....okay techinicaly it's spring but whatever. What about cyfair and klein districts? Texas bands are awesome! well i was talkin about HoustonI.S.D. which sometimes seems very stagnant in musical talent. cyfair and klein is more like suburban school districts. those always end up being really good. You can't talk about Westfield, they don't even go to marching contest anymore. Apparently, they're too good for it. Anyways, I think there are some good bands in SE Texas, considering five bands in our region got straight ones at contest, including ourselves.

Euphoria Kisses Is there anyone in 8th grade in the guild? i dont know of any contests for us : ( im in 8th :3 and we just had our region band tryouts...but that was a week ago...and next we have our solo and ensemble thingy :/

I tried out for District today and didn't do well since I got extremely nervous :/
Btw I'm from Dublin (we're 2A) and I play trumpet.

IDK what division my school falls in (Im from Southside High School in San Antonio).
I'm not going to region. I focused tooo much on marching that I forgot about region, and I know I can't learn the trumpet's pieces in ONE month.
8th grade regionals was EASY, but I need to steep it up my junior and Senior years, so whatch out. razz
The rest of this year and next year, I'm gonna be practicing as much as possible, till my tone and Range (I'm aiming for the C above the staff, maybe even the D).

Dang, 1A's need some love! XD
...And so does Lake Travis. I watched the 4 and 5A's march... they all were incredible *.*
But Lake Travis pwned in my opinion. :3
I'm from Thrall. It's 30 mins outta Austin... we're not even on the map.
Our "city" is only 6 blocks and a school.
We're not so hot, but we got 13th in Area! XD
It's the best we've ever done....ever.

I'm from Connally in Austin (Pflugerville area). I thought that show was amazing. It was your school, and another school of whom I can't remember their name, but they had a lot of screaming in their show...I thought those two were the best in the finals.

Thank you, I think you might be talking about the woodlands, they sang a lot, I was amazing.
