Twombley had made the point of bringing his squad to a halt just to make sure that Captain Brennan would respond, verifying that he hadn't overrun and killed. He didn't want to bring his squad into the mix if Brennan was already lost. But hearing Brennan call out over the COM again, he was reassured of the Captains status. "Alright, move into the corridor and make a left, The Captain is only a couple hundred feet away towards the southern end," Captain Twombley uttered quietly to his squad. The rest of the group replied with a quick nod and began to form back up and move towards Brennan, along with Sergeant Hyobi now. It wasn't long before the only thing separating the Brennan and Hyobi from Twombley and his squad, was a pair of double doors that were jammed. Again, Twombley went on his COM and said to Captain Brennan, "Sir, were on your location at the double doors to your east." Twombley's squad held up again, Twombley standing right before the double doors with the squad to his back watching their reverse approach down the hall.

Hyobi ran up to the doors and dove into cover from the hailing plasma fire. He opened his com link to Twombley. "This is Gunnery Sergeant Hyobi, I can open the doors, but only for about 20 seconds."

Twombley quickly replied the Sergeant Hyobi, "Roger that Sergeant. Open 'em up!" The flash and crack of gunshots lit up the hall behind the Captain as he stood before the double doors. The Covenant were beginning to catch onto what was going on and had spotted his squad. At the moment the team was backed into the corner so he prayed a grenade didn't roll into their midst. Twombley turned around to look down the hallway. Ominous shadows, menancingly familiar, painted the walls that were lit by the facilities emergency lighting. The Captain spoke through the COM link he had within his squad, "You better shoot anything that moves! Shoot first and ask later if your still alive!" While the Covenant threat on their end wasn't great, it could become a big problem very quickly if they remained where they were.

Brennan let a sigh of relief as he saw the units flood the hallway. Plasma fire rained on them like swarms of bees. Brennan got up from his position to squeeze off a few rounds at the oncoming units. "Captain! Glad you could join us!" he shouted.

Saminoz still somewhat dazed from the mortar-like attack yesterday was in trouble.. He decided to crawl away from the line of fire making his way into the thick brush. He turned around seeing that had he stayed there a moment longer he would have been killed. " This is Staff Sergeant Mayville! I need immediate backup! I think we have a Spartan down!"He said over the COM in a very frieghtend voice. He wasn't even sure if the last part of what he said was right. All he cared about was seeing some face that looked like a human.

Hyobi crawled to the console and ripped it open. He crossed a few wires and snipped a few, too. The doors opened. Hyobi opened his com-link. Sir, now is the time. Go, go, go! As he said this, he took a plasma bolt right into his right leg, burning it horribly. He crumpled to the ground. GO! Sir, hurry! He fired battle rifle rounds at the alien who shot him, another elite. That ment another squad was on their way.

Twombley ordered his squad to move through the doors while providing some supportive fire while they moved in. Several plasma bolts had streaked past the squad, one of which caught Sergeant Hyobi in the leg, as he kept the door open for the squad. "GO! MOVE IT!" Twombley shouted with urgency. Twombley was the last to go through the double doors, and when he did so he knelt down beside Sergeant Hyobi trying to shield him a bit, "Close 'em up Sarge!" He fired off several shots down the hall towards where the plasma bolts were coming from. Again he looked at the Sergeant, seeing whisps of smoke arising from his leg. Quickly looking down the Captain saw the results of a direct hit from a plasma bolt on Hyobi's leg. The Sergeant's leg was singed and scorched sickeningly.

Hyobi let go of the wires and the door shut. He then fired at the enemy attacking, afterwards, threw a grenade and watched as the lead elite jumped out of the way. Taking advatage of the lack of fire, Hyobi crawled closer to his team. taking cover behind a box. He ripped open his medpack and pulled out the medical tape. After looking frantically for a straight piece of something, Hyobi found a metal bar about the length of his leg. He took the medical tape and wrapped it around his wound a few times before taping the bar to his leg. Hyobi stood up, feeling the urge to amputate his leg, and limp-ran to where Captain Brennan, Twombley, and the ODST's stood. Once he got there, he leaned up against the wall, panting. "That was the longest five feet I've ever ran." He looked at Brennan. "What next, sir?"

Twombley felt the low thump of the grenade going off, run up through the floor and into his bones. Looking to Sergeant Hyobi as he more or less ran to the group, noticing that he had already applied bandaging. Twombley, chuckling at the panting Sergeant's words, replied before Brennan gave his own reply, "Hey Sarge, your leg gonna hold out long enough?" He motioned to the bandaging.

Hyobi looked at Twombley, then his makeshift bandaging. "Hopefully, if not, I can hold them off as long as I can. Its sturdy enough. "

Captain Twombley nodded to Sergeant Hyobi. "That's good enough for me. And I hate to burst your bubble Sarge', but I'm making sure you make it out of here with us. Even if the rest of you gets turned into a crispy toasty," Twombley said in a humorous manner, unable to hold back a bit of his laughter. "Were all making it out of here..." He followed up, directing this to everyone, even Captain Brennan.

Captain Twombley nodded to Sergeant Hyobi again, the fact that they would be screwed if they continued to hang around and chat almost slipping past him. "Alright, everyone check weapons and ammo and prepare to move." Approaching Sergeant Hyobi he asked, "Sergeant, any possible escape routes I haven't been informed of? 'Cause were not going back the way we came, its already been overrun."

Hyobi, as a technician, carried a map of Belfast Base programmed in his HUD. He looked it up and found their current position. He scanned the area over and over again until he found an escape route. "Sir, there is only one." He pointed down towards the one elite and his group of grunts. "But we may need to get rid of a few of our friends. That is the only way out. We kill them and take a right. There is a set of stairs that will take us to the upper level where there is a known position of marines are holding their positions. With that man power, we could push the enemy back."
