Linkin Park was formed in 1996 when high school student friends Mike Shinoda (Vocals/Guitarist) and Brad Delson (guitarist). Rob Bourdon attended the same school and was recruited to play drums. Mike met DJ Joe at Art College. And Brad shared an Apartment with Bassist Pheonix at UCLA.

The reason Breaking the Habit was written was because Chester Bremmington was raped when he was young. It took him 10 years to compose the lyrics to the song and it made a huge impact to fans when they heard the news BY:

Chester was not invited on stage, he sent in a demo tape.

The story about BTH is wrong too, read the notes in Meteora where you find the lyrics to the song.

Chester was sexually abused as a child by a close family friend [at least I heard], I do not believe it went as far as rape.

Chester is left-handed.

My friends and I have figured this out by constantly watching concert vids and stuff, and then looking at how he holds the microphone [didn't want to say 'how he holds the mike'...you might get a wrong idea].

It's not like we were LOOKING for what hand he uses, we just figured it out while looking for other details.... blaugh

Chaz plays the guitar right handed, but yes, he is a south paw. xd

I think it's both because he can write with his left hand.

Maybe but the way he plays guitar is right handed.

I thought he did everything with his left hand. And when I say everything, I mean everything!

EWWW oh my god! That is just wrong man >.< no, he plays guitar like he's right handed. You look at the picture, he uses his right hand for picking, so therefore right handed.

He's left handed. I assume he plays right handed on guitar because it's hard to get left handed guitars, and they cost more. He may have also self taught himself, I know a lot of people who play guitar with the opposite hand.

Chester Charles Bennington ~ 20.3.76
Michael Kenji Shinoda ~ 11.2.77
Bradford Phillip Delson ~ 1.12.77
Robert Gregory Bourdon ~ 20.1.79
David Michael Farrell ~ 8.2.77
Joseph Hahn [I don't think he has a middle name, so I call him "Joe Remy Hahn"] xp ~ 15.3.77

Chester had said at a live interview in Toronto that he used to be one of those kids who ate glue as a kid. [No pun intended with the fact that Mike is known and "The Glue" blaugh ]

Also in that interview, Brad stated that Mike has the world record of signed autographs and that they have missed entire shows and such because Mike likes to sign everyone's stuff. rofl

Another thing from that interview is that LP are such a family that Brad and Rob have actually adopted Chester. xd

Some British fans asked for Chester's pubic hair so that they could clone him. He said that he scrapped goo from the inside of his cheek to give them.

Chester has a new tattoo, it appears to be a skull in a rose, [reminds me of the Deftones album] it is located on his right elbow. Right on his wenis. xp

Mike helped design the 2 phoenix tattoos on Phi's back.

Mike LOVES Gundams.

Joe LOVES Froggies. rolleyes

Mike stage dove during a performance of And One. I have the file. whee

Chester can "Woo".

Chester was a Boyscout. There's a picture of him in his uniform in the LPU, it's so cute. whee 0o0o there's also a pic of him with a fish he caught when he was young, and he has an outty there. heart whee heart

LP first toured in a RV. It would have been a van but they had too much stuff. They didn't have a driver, and didn't know how to take care of it. So that meant no chemicals to clean the whole sewage system. gonk

Chester jumped onto a porta-potty during a performance and fell partially in. He sang the rest of the song from there. I got a pic of that somewhere. lol

During a show in Australia, the stage collasped while LP were performing. The only thing that saved them from falling was a carpet/rug/something like that. sweatdrop

They started a record label called "Machine Shop Recordings". The Rosewood Falls, has recently disbanded before releasing their anticipated EP. Simplistic was thanked in Reanimation. No Warning, a Canadian band [whom I've seen live, the lead singer is short and almost stepped on my hands gonk ], was signed to the label, and all I hear from any media outlet is that they were the 1st band to be signed to MSR. stare Which isn't true! scream

There are 1000 original copies of the Hybrid Theory EP.

Rob's mother was a highschool girlfriend of the drummer of Aerosmith, and she was part of the reason for the band's name.

Mike designs Brad's headphones. Brad always wears his headphones during performances [all to my knowledge] and most of LP's music videos. [not in Papercut or Pts.Of.Athrty]

In the video for "Faint", Brad is wearing a shirt that says "J'ai confiance en toi". French for "I got confidence in you".

There's is a music video for all of the Reanimation tracks. 21 in all, Pts.Of.Athrty having 2.

LP usually pulls up a fan to play the guitar part for Faint when performing.

LP always ends shows with One step Closer, or some mix of OSC. This was true up until they played Live 8.

There is a poster of when LP was called Xero, I'm not sure if it was there 1st show, but the show was with System of a Down.

Chester used to have dreads.

Chester painted a mural in his school in 1993.

Mike is a distant relative to the Russian composer Tchaikovsky. Tchaikovsky composed pieces such as Swan Lake and The Nutcracker.

Chester's favorite Pokemon [accent won't show up so no accent on e] rolleyes is Jigglypuff.

Mike's toothbrush is sexy.

Phoenix farted towards Joe in the TV special Linkin Park Live. rofl

Many media outlets still believe Phoenix's first name is Darren.

I have audio of Phoenix and Mark rapping from their old band The Snax A.K.A. The Tasty Snax.

Chester's old band was Grey Daze.

Rob and Brad were both in the band Relative Degree. Brad was also in a band called The Pricks.

Chester's top 5 albums comprise of Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, Al Green, Fugazi, and Stone Temple Pilots.

Chester started playing gigs in Phoenix at the age of 14, and made his 1st album at 16.

Chester holds parties to celebrate Club Tattoo.

Linkin Park's official fanclub is the Linkin Park Underground, LPU for short. Members are referred to as LPU'ers. Started 21.11.01, Mike and Brad both have accounts there and have recently been on. whee

Former lead singer of the band, Mark Wakefield is the manager of the band Taproot.

The text in the In The End video is in the Mason alphabet. I figured out the damned alphabet easy cause I have no live, but this stuff is also found on fansites:

Right side - PH, MASK, LINKIN, PARK, DEADSY, HANNAH, MRHAHN, LINKIN, MP
Left side - NKC, KARMA, DEADSY, LINKIN, PARK, LURCHEN, MINUTM, HANNAH, LP

The Mason alphabet also appears in the video to The Key to Grimacy Park by the band Deadsy. [note the name comes up twice in the translation above]

On that same note, the letters MP come up in LP videos. Such as in the In The End translation, and on the arm band the Joe is wearing in Numb video. No clue what it means, but I assume it's something to do with Joe. rolleyes

Korn recorded a cover of Nine Inch Nail's Head Like a Hole, with Chester providing backing vocals. It was originally suposed to be released in an album but was cut. It will appear in an EP in the future.

The reason why all the Reanimation song title's are in shortform is because when the titles were being passed around from mixers and such, they were sent via text message. The company responsible for printing ended up with the text message short handed versions of the names and printed them as such. rofl At least that's a story that went around, started by the band I bet. lol

The smashing sounds you hear in Foreword is actually Mike smashing a CD player with a bat on a metal table:

Mike Shinoda
"Foreword" is just an intro. If you know what Foley work is, it's my first attempt at Foley work. Basically, it's noises I made in the studio breaking things. We have this CD player and CD burner attached to my computer, which basically just ate s**t during the writing process. It gave Chester and I such a hard time! Burning CDs which should have taken a minute were taking 20 minutes, 30 minutes, to an hour. I just got so frustrated with the thing, I put it to the side knowing that I was going to beat it with a baseball bat and that's what I did. I smashed it with a baseball bat on metal table.

Semi true.

Korn's leadman, Jonathan Davis, composed a fair amount of songs for that soundtrack. He had also done vocals for them, or at least most of them, including System. Due to legal issues, they got several different singers to sing these songs Jonathan had written. However, if you watch the movie, you hear Jonathan's voice on the songs.

Trust me, I know.

]hugs the soundtrack and DVD[
