I cant stand the look of people playing their guitars all the way down like that. How the hell do you reach the neck? Meh, Its a personal preference I guess. I just never got into it.
I place my guitar in the middle of my bobdy so that the the top of the body is right at the bottom of my rib cage. And when I play bass I like ot have it up even farther. 3nodding

But i wear mine a bit higher for my sweeping and tapping smile

I used to play with my guitar fairly low, untill i finally realized that it was hurting my playing, so i pulled it up to my ribcage like another said, and now i can rip up those Blues Boxes xD
BTW, zmking, how is that PRS SE Soapbar II treatin' you? I've been debating on one of those or an older model PRS Santana SE.

zmking sagebond76 damn dude, how much did that PRS set you back? about $500 Yeah the SE's Don't cost too much. They're made in asia, buty they're still damn nice. BTW for all you guys that were interested in that Teisco i got, here's an update! I finally got it stringed up and let me tell you, it sings like a bird. Plays like the elephant man though... Half an inch of action at the 12 fret (exxageration) and horrible fretwork.. fingerboard is rough and worn, the playability just sucks. I'm actually thinking of just making a new neck.. not sure.. i may just refret and re-nut it.. problem was it was buzzing so bad at the first fret i had to loosen the rod all the way because the nut was too low.. so im thinking if i refret and re-nut it, i can tighten the rod again to fix the neck bow, and also smooth out the fretboard quite nicely. OF COURSE theres always plan B, which is to scrap the whole neck, save the body, and reuse the switch, knobs, tremelo and ESPECIALLY the pickups for my project guitar.

xD thanks guys. I actually need to paint the bridge cover still (and clearcoat the bridge itself) lest they rust over again. But look how clean they are compared to before! Theres still a number of things I want to do to this baby... I probably won't refinish it as I originally planned because the old finish is just so cool.. besides, with it the way it is now you can tell its been repaired lol But along with painting and clearcoating the tailpiece assembly, I want to replace the bridge with a real TOM to be able to set the intonation, and I'll be ripping the middle pickup out (and replacing the 2 toggle switches with two, obviously) and making it a new pickguard for the new setup. (The pickup as going towards my project guitar and the switches I'll just toss in the parts bin). When I take the mid pickup out, I might, depending on my skill with electronics at the time, try my "onboard distortion" Idea, using the schematic I created around the "Electra" distortion circuit... It would be small and compact enough to fit in the cavity (its just one big a** cavity for the pickups - it actually sounds like a semi-hollowbody when plucked acoustically) The circuit includes and small DPDT toggle swithc to turn the distortion on and off... I'll also have to cut a battery cavity in the back of the guitar for the 9volt. Hell, I might bypass all that and just slap some diodes on the tone circuit of the guitar and make it a permanent Black Ice type distortion.
