((She can kinda slide. o.o;; Just not very well at all... and she can't stop abruptly like you can. >_o;; I probably should've made that more clear. o.o; ))
Raine had no hopes at this point of escaping his attack. His advantages greatly outnumbered her own diminutive advantages. She was still focused on striking his left side, so by the time he would be executing this attack it would be too late to make any movements.
She knew she could die...
In such a small amount of time, she couldn't do much. There was only one thing, but unfortunately..she would still take some damage, since this thing couldn't be activated entirely before said blow was achieved.
So, as he slashed towards her, her left arm would be gashed pretty deeply, but he wouldn't get any further than that.
Raine couldn't stop the full effects of the blow, but she could nullify. Her opponent may be shocked to find his sword now sliding across something that felt like a brick wall, rather than her body.
Dark energy really came in handy in battles. Raine had simply taken a very large amount and pushed it outwards and covered her body in it, creating a temporary barrier against the blade. Though, her left arm still had taken bad damage. Her body now had a faint grey aura around it, which he'd probably notice.
As his sword slashed across the barrier, it began to crack under the force of his attack, since it wasn't a very strong barrier. Making really strong barriers took a lot of energy out of her, so she could only make weak barrier like this most of the time. These ones weren't hard to break, but for now it saved her.
As he'd finish his slash towards her, she'd simply back up a few steps, her feet sliding out from under her a lot, causing her to have to regain her balance. Her left arm dripped blood like crazy onto the ice, and she couldn't really lift it well.
The dark barrier around her crumbled off of her, no longer being useful since he had sliced it. It had probably saved her life though.
Now...she was getting tired of this ice. It was time to do something about that.
She merely had plopped some o' that dark energy of hers into the ground, though it wasn't quite clear yet what she intended to do with it.
Raine hadn't exactly forgotten about that.
She simply stood there for a few seconds, drops of sweat running down her face and crimson blood trickling down her arm and off of her fingers.. She looked a wreck, but she still had plenty of fighting spirit left. She wasn't one to give up.
Raine looked at where the gash was on her arm, creating a slight barrier of dark energy over the wound to help with the bleeding. It still hurt like crazy though, and the energy bandage would have to serve for now. She'd need more time if she were to actually heal it, which she didn't have.
Suddenly, she looked towards the ground fiercely, a new glow of grey appearing around her body. The ground beneath the both of them would merely begin to rumble...
Suddenly, with a force that seemed impossible, her dark energy would erupt from the ground with a tremendous force, creating a hole in his ice. It'd be almost certain his ice wouldn't withstand such a force, since this dark energy was also eating it like an acid. The dark energy would merely spread out all over the floor beneath the two of them aat a rapid pace, coating the floor with what she wanted.
Now, it's be her ground to work with. His ice would be underneath a floor of dark energy, though he probably would do something about that. Either way, she now wouldn't be sliding everywhere.
She smirked, the aura around her body growing. She let out a loud "Kamehameha!"..
The floor beneath her opponent would suddenly begin to ripple, making it pretty hard for him to stand. It was like disturbed water almost, though it'd still be solid. Suddenly, underneath him more dark energy spikes would rise up out of the ground, again trying to impale him. These spikes had plenty of warning, so it shouldn't be hard for him to get out of. She hoped he would back up...

(( Yes desu....o.o; You should've made it more clear. o.o; Gomene for misinterpreting it. ^.^; ))
That's why he had his left blade impaled in the first place. He couldn't have swung his entire body around sharply at a moment's whim without some difficulty, so he had his left blade used as the tool instead to do that. Since there is no reason for Snow to just leave the tool behind, he simply yanked it out of the ground, still holding it in a dagger hold before countering the impaling strike by Raine - with some struggle.
It certainly surprised him that Raine plans to use mana, or arcane methods in the next few moves when his blade came in contact against that thick, oozy barrier of hers.
"Ugh..."
But not one to retreat without leaving something for the opponent, his katana for the time being had left a small substance of water on her wound, perhaps because of the moisture clinging onto his blade. Or, perhaps something more than just moisture. Since it won't provide anything that will alert the opponent anytime soon, there was nothing much to talk about it until the next two assaults - or moves, if you wish to say it that way....which something will happen to the wound on Raine's left arm.
But for now, Snow allowed Raine to retreat for the time being, analyzing and observing the crumpled barrier of her dark energy, an uneasy feeling spreading within the back of his mind.
Before he knew it, all hell broke loose just as Snow felt the rumble.
His eyes widened. Watching the sudden outpour of dark energy flowing out of the ruptured ice, a thick sour smell pervaded the air when it began to disintegrate the i--
Acid!....Beware the man with the turtle shell on his back!Without a second thought, Snow - instead of retreating nor maneuvering himself away from this thick ooze, decided to take the most illogical step that would give him some leverage in this round.
The Gym itself.
Throwing his right katana high into the air, he immediately jumped after it as the katana impaled the ceiling with an audible thud. Ice formed out of nowhere from the moisture within the gym, allowing Snow to use the small icy blocks as stepping stones to his desired designation. Grabbing hold of the hilt when he got close to it, Snow reversed his body upside down to plant his feet firmly against the ceiling's top, an obvious glistening of ice holding his legs in place above the acidic ground.
As for the spikes --
How high can it go, now that Snow's standing upside down on the ceiling, looking down at the opponent like a bat?
His left katana dangled near his grip as he looked from that uncomfortable position, giving an abrupt sigh. If not for the battle in the Gym, he wouldn't have found some method to escape that acidic liquid....
With the possibility of... ...Nah.
"Having fun?" He would question, giving a sheepish smile back at the opponent's situation. Meanwhile, the air within the Gym began to feel rather cool....then a little cold....and colder....and colder....and freezing. But at a rather slow pace, so Raine wouldn't really feel it until a post later.

((Just out of pure curiousity, how fluent are you in Japanese? o.o;; ))
The shimmering spikes didn't ascend high enough to reach him on his bat-like perch, so he had really no worries as long as he remained in place. Raine was quite impressed with his skills at this point. She regarded him with respect, which was something she didn't do unless the opponent was someone that she thought to be very skilled.
He proposed his question, to which she responded in an oddly perky manner.
"Of course. "..." How about you?"
She said this with a sincere smile and tone, because she truly was having fun. These were the kind of battles she could enjoy, despite their lives possibly being on the line. Besides, the fact that they could die accidently in a "friendly" spar was interesting.
Her right hand which grasped the Wakizashi tightly suddenly relaxed, and she spun the blade around skillfully between her fingers a few times. Simply enough, she reached behind her and placed the blade into its scabbard. She looked around the room, her eyes trailing along the acidic-floor, searching for her other blade that had taken a tumble before. She spotted it a few feet away, lying solemnly on the ground with a large dent in it. She sighed exasperatedly and shook her head. He had ruined a perfectly good weapon... Good thing it wasn't very important to her...though she still would've preferred it not happened.
Her attention had not wavered from her opponent, so she had been watching for an advance all the while she did this. Although, she didn't yet notice the slight changes in temperature, because the narrator said she wouldn't for another post. (x3)
She simply sighed, all her senses still focused on Snow.
Her eyes narrowed, and two clasped hands came in front of her face. She was messing with her dark energy more, although her opponent wouldn't notice unless he looked around the room quite a bit.
Slowly but surely, her dark energy had began to spread from being all over the floor to crawling up the walls at a turtle-like speed. After a few posts, this would completely envelope the room, which would certainly give her the perfect advantage. All she had now was to wait.
Her footing shifted slightly as she was waiting, her right foot making its way slowly forward a ways in front of her left. Her right arm was tensed more than her left, and her eyes were focused on nothing, which was a sign that she was completely relying on her peripheral vision.
She had only to wait for him to make a move.

(( To tell the truth....... >_> Very bad. crying ))
"Not bad, not bad...." He commented, still having that casual look on his face. "But since we're now tapping our powers....how about we amp it up a notch?" He questioned.
A sudden chilly wind blew within the enclosed gym.
His eyes had a deathly look on it, especially with his crimson red pupils shining a bit under the lighting.
"Now then," He said cheerfully, yanking out his right katana from the ceiling while the area surrounding Snow began to crack and freeze. "Try and dodge this attack, if you can." He stated, lowering both his weapons so both had their hilts pointed down to the ground...
Before he stabbed both blades into the ceiling with a ringing sound.
A blanket of ice suddenly formed on where the blade made contact, turning everything on the roof into a frozen block of ice that reflected brilliantly the light around the entire Gym. Almost blinding to the point that it hurts just to stare at the ceiling, cracks bean to form on the ice..... Followed by a thunderous crumble that did not sound good to Raine at all. More cracks formed on the whim around Snow's position as the attack finally revealed itself --
To be the entire rooftop caving in right towards Raine.
Debris from the ceiling hailed down like huge bullets as it crashed right towards Raine's position and her dark puddle, piling up on each other to form another landmass above the acidic ocean. The ice previously formed on the ceiling acted like lethal shards, cutting through anything that is exposed.
And Snow was keeping himself afloat for a short moment, using the same method of using the moisture as stepping stones as he hopped from one debris to the next, keeping himself in the air for a small moment.
Depending on how the opponent reacts, Snow might have to use a different mean to attack, but with the air inside the Gym getting ever so colder, it allowed Snow the necessary moisture to hop and jump from one point to the next without touching the ground....
Besides, even if he has to land, the accumulation of debris on the ground is sufficient enough for him to stand on it, allowing him free motion well away from the acidic ocean beneath.

Her head jerked upwards at the sound of a thunderous rumble...her grey eyes widening at the sight of the entire ceiling cracking above her. Although, she couldn't stare for long, as the light burned her optics.
Then...it happened.
The roof came crashing towards her head, as well as ice. She knew she couldn't dodge all those...it would be nearly impossible. Plus, forming a barrier with her own energy would drain a lot of her energy to protect against something as big as this, and she didn't want to lose her energy since she was saving it for a different attack..
There was only one thing to do.
Her right hand broke free of the clasp her hands were previously in, making its way to the pocket of her pants. Abruptly, she pulled out a small round object that was the colour of a night sky. Oddly enough, she simply dropped the small marble onto the floor, closing her eyes and clasping her hands in her face again.
With a calm voice...she gave a simple command in what appeared to be German..
"Schutz"
The marble immediately burst. Literally, just blew up, billions of tiny shards flying all over the place. Instead of flying randomly somewhere and falling, most of these shards suddenly diverted all their courses to right above Raine. Oddly enough, it would just seem like billions of tiny little black specks were hovering above her head. Suddenly, these specks would simply begin to expand, creating a thick barrier of dark energy and connecting with each other, and it formed all around Raine in a dome-like shape. Any debris that should hit this dark barrier would merely bounce off or shatter. Obviously enough, this barrier was almost 100 times stronger than what she could do with her own energy.
Also, as his ceiling caved in and the debris fell into her puddle of dark-acid which was now the floor, the debris wouldn't last very long since the dark goop on the floor would simply begin eating it instantly and covering it.
Now, as for the other small shards that hadn't formed the barrier with Raine. As they had exploded out of the marble, they had done something rather odd..
All of them had headed straight for her opponent at a speed of about 100 MPH, in which if they should make contact with him they would rip tiny holes throughout his entire body. And there were hundreds of them, so he'd have hundreds of holes in his body, which would hurt very badly.
She did, however, make sure not to hit anything major, like his heart. Her aim was directed away from those sort of areas. She just intended to hit him in his stomach, arms, legs, etc..
After his debris would be finished falling, she'd merely drop the sharded barrier around her, althought the shards around her didn't disappear. They'd simply return to their original size before they expanded, which was about the size of a dull pencil point. They merely hovered there...waiting..
Raine began to shiver slightly, but she didn't think much of it. She merely waited to see what her opponent would do.

This is getting troublesome.
Snow hadn't intended to keep the fight going that long, and hoping that at least there was a successful attack at her body, his victory unfortunately proves to be shorter than he would've liked.
Though the large puddle on the floor can eat the debris without problem, it would still take some time for the energy to fully consume the objects before leaving the ground as barren as the opponent had given. As he pondered, his eyes narrowed itself to some extent when he saw Raine's counter.
More or less a hidden equipment which - for her perhaps - can create a probable defense at the instant. Which means that if Snow can't find suitable ground to recover and evaluate, then there is a slim chance of actually defeating her in her own petty game of deception.
Eyes blinking again in surprise, Snow's vision was blinded as his own personal defense went up without warning, a sudden sphere of ice encompassing his entire perimeter when the marbles were shot right at him at high speeds. Immediately the spherical ice spun at a counter-clockwise rotation like a twirl, using the rounded edges of its sides to deflect the projectiles far away from his current position when it came in contact with him.
Same principle of sloped armor.
The only downfall of that defense is that it's weak against fire, and it does not allow Snow the ability to know what the hell's going on outside.
Unlike a manual command which he can summon at will, the defense is only activated when there's a clear and present danger coming towards his body. With the icy air in the Gym as the main "sensors", Snow can sense things which past through the moisture regardless of the position and speed.... But usually he keeps that level of concentration down to a minimum, as it takes a hefty amount of energy for him to expand his detection skills to encompass the entire Gym if need be.
But now, with no peripheral vision of knowing what Raine might be planning, Snow decides to take the initiative of surprising her one more time, with a subtle trick to make her life more troublesome than it already is.
Three factors have been enforced in a subtle maneuver ever since he'd made the wound on her left arm. One - he had slowly cooled the temperature down to a chilly extent inside the Gym for about two-three posts now. Two - he had left a small trickle of seemingly plain water on her wound, which she had done some emergency healing without some thought on it. Third - he had frozen most of the surface on the ceiling before it collapsed, so most of the remaining debris which lay on the dark goop glistened with shards of ice covering it.
The spherical ice continued to float for a few moments or so in midair before it began its descent rather slowly to the ground, the icy concentrations in the gym allowing Snow to leech off some bit of energy in the environment to keep the sphere around him suspended for just those few extra seconds.
Because this is where it gets tougher for the acidic girl.
It was then that the debris littering the ground near Raine's barrier suddenly ruptured, firing shards of ice everywhere like landmines. Not certain if Raine can just summon her barrier up immediately, it was worth a shot to first distract her --
Then came the second response quickly after that distraction. The chilly air in the Gym got colder to the point that breathing became a problem. Water began to form into ice within the atmosphere, following the entry of respiration for any human nearby. And here's the interesting part - as people need oxygen to breathe normally, if one changes the temperature within the air to be extremely cold, it actually suffocates the person because ice is flowing down into their lungs, unable to be warmed quickly enough by the body itself. Symptoms of Hypothermia and Suffocations are the primary causes from extreme colds.
One post later, something better will happen to replace that, as Raine has been exposed to the cold chilly air for a bit now...
As for the third --
No. Not yet, since there is a time lapse to how Raine might react. Making sure to keep the third factor hidden for now, if Raine by any chance isn't wounded nor injured by then....
He might have to improvise on the spot, as the sphere continued to rotate around itself again like a top on one of the nearby debris now, just to be sure that Raine won't send another wave of dark marbles at him if he disposes the defense....
Since he'd made sure to make things hellish for the opponent.

((Thanks :3))
Deception wasn't what she had intended at all. She merely didn't tell him she had hidden weapons and accessories. Most fighters did, so it shouldn't have been that shocking.
She was interested at his own defense, seeing as how it reacted instantly like that.
The debris ruptured around her, shards flying every direction. Naturally, anytime any of these shards came near her, she simply used a small amount of her dark energy to act as a solid panel to deflect whatever it was, in which she'd release right away. Basically, she'd create a small shield in the direction the object was approaching, drop it when the danger was past, create a shield, drop it, etc. This was done to preserve energy. It was too hard trying to hold the shield there constantly.
She was aware suddenly of the restriction on her breathing. Her breath became raspy, and she began to feel slightly panicked, though she calmed herself quickly enough.
She pondered what to do. She couldn't really create fire, and the small amount she could manipulate wouldn't even begin to be enough to counter something like this.
Hrm.
She stood there, shivering and her teeth gritted. She had to do something..
She did have a marble that had the elemental properties of fire, since she carried a marble for each type of element. But, using that wouldn't do much good either, because even if she warmed up the area with the elemental marble, the marble would just shatter like the others and then he would just make the area cold all over again.
She sighed loudly, as best as she could anyways.
Suddenly. She thought of it.
Her hands clasped together in front of her, and she concentrated heavily..
A somewhat thin barrier of dark energy suddenly formed itself all around her body tightly, as though it became part of her form. She was planning something..
Like most people do when they do something odd.
((Sorry if this post has any weird errors or isn't very good. x_x I just woke up, so I really am not concentrating well yet. x_x))

Even if Snow can't see with his eyes on what's going on around him, he can definately sense a heavy concentration of dark energy being gathered to one distinct point, as if enveloping the opponent's body. With no clue nor any information that might tell him of what Raine is thinking, Snow had to rely on the possible factors he can think of right now.
One. Raine will probably attempt to create a small barrier around herself, unaffected by the droplets of ice in the air and allow herself some normal breathing - like those with oxygen tanks, per se.
Two. She's planning to create a concussion wave, trying to push away the cold air with the blast of dark energy surrounding her.
Three. Utilizing the extent of her dark energy, she might either meld with the acidic energy surrounding her, or use that to her advantage - throwing whip-like tentacles against him while he's effectively trapped behind his momentary defense.
Four. It has to do with the freezing cold in the Gym.
Five. None of the above.
Furrowing his eyebrows, Snow gave a discrete sigh in response as he had the sphere twirl its way to a nearby debris that is still aloft the acidic puddle for the time being. Shattering the sphere quickly, Snow had one of his blades sheathed, while his right blade is held parallel to the ground, aimed right towards Raine's chest.
Taking a risky gamble, Snow decides to take the initiative -- As a sudden blast of light was released from his blade, the beam aimed right towards where Raine is....
Cutting everything it touches in half, while also leaving shards of explosive ice in its wake.
(( My apologies if it's short -- I caught a cold, and am currently sick. crying *sniffles* ))

((That's okay. D: I hope you feel better soon.))
He was right in his first guess. She was intending to create a small barrier around herself that would allow her to breath. Her own body heat would also heat up the barrier a little bit. Simply, she would push the barrier away from herself, creating a small dome around herself that had pushed away the cold around her. Although, it'd still be chilly in there. But, at least it would be easier to breathe.
It was a risky, and probably not very good move, but it should buy her some time. Meanwhile. Lightning.
Crap!
Raine saw it coming in the nick of time, her right foot pressing on the ground to push her body out to the side of it before it made contact with her. She breathed a sigh of relief, simply happy to be able to breathe at all.
Now, it was time for her to try to put an end to this.
She began to concentrate once more, beads of sweat trickling down her face despite the cold. Her eyes began to glow faintly, almost crimson in colour. The aura around her began to waver and distort, almost like disturbed water.
Suddenly, she transferred more dark energy to her barrier, which then released it to outside of the barrier. The dark energy would slither across the ground like a puddle, although making an abrupt stop about a foot away from her. Suddenly, it began to rise up, taking form into something odd..
It was a person. Although, no features could be seen. It was simply a second figure created from her dark energy, the figure of a woman. Sort of like a shadow-clone. Whatever it was though, it wasn't just a mere clone.
The only feature that could be seen on it after it was done forming was reddish eyes. This "thing" began to walk in the direction of her opponent, taking slow but menacing steps.

In Raine's mind, the voice of a familiar voice would ring, almost subliminally. The voice of an old "freind" of hers, if Raine even liked him beyond respect.
"Yes Raine...Destroy him...Kill him..."
It was of course, Fasumbra Langardo, egging on his old spar partner, excited by how violent this promised to be. Plus, he loved her style of...well, emotional involvement in fighting.
And he watched, from some undetermined point in existance.

So much for the first guess. But if it all depends on luck, it would have to be how much air she really has within her barrier now. Judging from how much output the barrier is providing, Snow would have to say about...thirty, forty minutes at least?
Perhaps longer, if the barrier expands.
Snow closed his eyes, giving a soft sigh. If things are going to get more troublesome than it seems, then he best not hold back at all, if he plans on getting out of here in one piece. With the freezing environment given to his advantage, there is still the puddle of dark energy that surrounds him, giving Raine the necessary mobility factor in locking her opponent in one place.
To counter that....
"....." Snow again raised his blade, pointing the tip downward with an odd intent. With the presence of the cold filling the Gym, a sudden inward burst of wind whirled immediately around Snow's weapon, leeching off all the available moisture there is around here. Small streams of light poured through the caved ceiling, and Snow finally looked at Raine's new form - her shadow clone.
To combat against her barrier, he must first deplete her stamina. But to do that, the dark acidic puddle around him must be destroyed. How, one might ask?
That is what he's about to show...
He dropped his weapon, letting it stab the ground. With a huge concentration of moisture drawn unto the blade, something that might surprise even dark users like Raine happened --
The surface on the energy rippled, followed by a sudden conversion between dark energy, to nothing more than a regular puddle of water. Light beamed off of where it struck the weapons' shaft as it reflected upon the dark energy around it, as if suddenly "purifying" the entire area by the light itself. To an extent, yes, for that was the ability of his weapon -- a tool that is able to focus the energy channeled into it.
Even if he is unable to use holy or light enchantments - as his ability lies between water, ice, and wind user, his dormant ability to manipulate the darkness is almost impossible to control -- that is why he rarely taps into the dark energy that he possesses; For to he himself, it is an unstable ability to manifest.
But to amplify nearby natural energy and convert it into a counterbalance...that he can do with his knowledge on elements. Besides, breaking down the ceiling has provided him the necessary "purified" light to reflect off of the leftover ice, and with that natural energy, he can then focus that power into the water itself, changing the form into a counter agent that negates Raine's dark puddle and her dark energy...
So the opponent stood there, the darkness that initially covered the floor now being changed to nothing more than mere puddles of normal water, occasionally splashed by some leftover small debris that skuttled down the ceiling, or by his steps, per se.
With the sword acting as the focus, anything that is made up of darkness is thus in danger of being negated to nothing more than normal water.
The only problem, is that the weapon impalling the ground must not be yanked out, or else he will have to restart the entire process again.
Snow unsheathed his other blade by then, using his left hand to point the tip of the blade towards the Shadow clone. Taking on a precautionary stance - right leg first, left leg bracing with the torso twisted to the left - he opened his eyes this time, watching to see if Raine would realize that her dark energy is no longer able to sustain itself by his weapon on the ground -- purifying the darkness away....
And giving him the necessary advantage to have at her with a final clash.
It would, at this time, be evident to Raine now, that her previously injured left arm will show signs of the delay strike left by the ice user. With Snow giving her an injury on her arm before, the moisture/liquid left inside that wound shall begin to freeze and disrupt her blood flow, using anything that is composed in a liquid form to literally drown and freeze her organs by her own fluids....
Hypothermia, in the worst possible situation.
