((So, yeah, ok then. =D This is da deal. *wonders how many of the ones concearned that doesn't already know* XD;; Due to a law/criteria concearning anyone in the Dragon Clan, according to the Dragoon constituation pargraf... *goes on and on* XD;;; Kidding. Well... *suddenly feels stupid* XD;; bloody fanfic. *kicks it* Well, according to a criteria that the Dragon Fighters must fulfill, due to the Dragon Clan's low number and the war that is still ongoing, every fighter must sire at least one, if possibly not two, children before dying. <.< >.>; Good luck, as if they would know when they die. XD;; Ahem! *cough* Anyway. It could be with any willing female (preferably dragon but human is ok too, as long as it doesn't become too many half dragons), and the pair doesn't need to marry but if just one of the two wants it, for whatever reason, the other must comply. <.< >.> I think that was all. =D

Ok! Next on our list! ...))

Chapter 2
~Dark Horizon~

((Be prepared for darker time! >D =D))

The sun rose lazily in the eastern skies, kissing the world good morning with its pale rays. Dew from the night glinted prettily in the grass and upon leaves, signaling that the late summer soon would be turning towards the colder seasons of autumn and finally winter. Next year, when the calendars passed the date of mid-spring, the Dragon-Youkai war would be entering its 3e year...

A pair of hands slowly rose to rub two tired orange-brown eyes as the owner squinted against the dawning light. What a pretty day it would be… The Yellow Dragon Officer yawned behind a hand where he sat in a large, plush armchair in front of the window. A few times during the night he had almost fallen asleep by his desk (it wasn't often that he sneaked an all-nighter like this) so he had moved to sit in front of one of the windows instead. Both wide and tall, these 'glass-covered holes' let in a lot of light and this one in particular had served him a beautiful sunrise too, due to it facing eastward.

Ruwalk almost giggled at the 'window synonym' but shook his head instead. He was getting quite tired now… or perhaps not tired and more awake. Anyway, it was time to go now, before anyone, especially a certain Mr. Blacky, noticed he had been up all night. Ruwalk shuddered but giggled at the same time. A disapproving stare from that man could cause anyone to turn on the spot and run like hell.

The brown haired officer grinned as he got up from his seat and stretched, at least he had gotten all his work done, although most of the night, or all of it, had gone to thinking about what fighter to send along with Thats and 'other depressing, war-related stuff'.

Stumbling once on the first step and catching himself on the second (he swore he hadn't drunk anything during the darker hours), Ruwalk grinned again and made his way over to the door. Definitely time to get at least some hours of sleep, before it was time to get up again, put on a good face, and look like you had slept a whole night. Should he make a mad dash or sneak back to his quarters, the dragon mused as he put an ear to the door.

((XD;; That's how he gets when he hasn't slept... and don't we all get kinda like that?))

((>______<;;;; It ate my very long post. *hatehatehate* ... *retypes* .__.;; ))

The dormitory of the Dragon Fighters Guild was divided up into several small rooms along a low one story stone building. Each room housed a different section of five or six young men with three bunkbeds among them. A low row of shuttered windows ran along the outer wall, letting in light and sound.

Caracas sat up in bed, stretching his lanky arms over his head, bending his hands back as they brushed against the ceiling. He twisted his neck, working out a crick in it, then slid to the floor, ignoring the ladder attached to the sturdy doubledecker bed.

His fair hair was tousled and his white undershirt was rumpled as he knelt on the ground, briefly adjusting his patterned boxers before addressing the Fighter sharing his doubledecker bed.

"Hey," he shook the shoulder of the Dragon Fighter on the mattress below him, then said, louder, "wake up."

A low moan escaped the upper bunk next to him as Armandeo rolled onto his stomach, clutching his thin pillow tightly to his face.

"Sh' up."

Caracas ignored his cousin, keeping his attention focused on the still sleeping figure who swatted briefly at him before sitting up blearily.

He grinned, the act almost a leer. "You got in late last night."

Paz blinked hard, drawing his friend into focus behind his scraggly brown bangs. "Yeah?" The other's words were not yet connecting with anything of substance within his skull.

The light from the one open window on the opposing wall was starting to creep slowly across the stone floor. Asuncion stepped out of bed on the lower bunk next to the two and stretched a knot out of his back. Still silent, he picked up his folded pair of pants from their resting place at the foot of his bed and began to pull them on.

"Real late," Caracas continued, the unnerving smile still present. "After three, in fact. I heard you. You came in through the window and ran into the table."

Santiago yawned, sitting up on the lower half of the last bunk in the room. "Hot date?" he asked, trying valiantly to keep up with the conversation. Pushing off the thin covers and stumbling to the floor, he groped for his shirt and pants from the unused upper bunk of his bed.

"I heard you get back, too."

Asuncion punched the mattress above him, earning a yelp and muffled curse from Armadeo, before buttoning up his uniform jacket.

Armadeo clambered gracelessly to the floor, rubbing his hand tiredly over his face. "It's not time yet... We don't have to be outside for another twenty minutes."

Caracas ignored him and continued pressing Paz. "So where'd you go? Have fun?"

Paz nodded, flushing deeply and getting out of bed. "Yes, in fact. We walked around the town. Had a few drinks."

He was still wearing his pants from the previous day and night, but picked his jacket up from where he had discarded it on the nearby table. As he put it on, he elaborated shortly.

"We didn't mean to get back so late. We just lost track of the time."

Santiago laughed, more awake by this time, as he straightened out his jacket. "Oh, did you?" His eyebrows arched suggestively, the corners of his mouth quirking.

Paz turned a brighter red, falling silent and ignoring both of them as he sat heavily in the chair by the table to pull on his boots.

Armandeo swore again, running his hand distractedly through his long hair. "I hate early morning training. There's too much early morning in it."

Asuncion shot his companion a glance. "Don't let Tetheus hear you say that. Don't let him catch you sneak back so late, either," he added, turning to face Paz. "Or we'll all get stuck scrubbing out the stables."

"Unless," Caracas' eyes lit up. "Unless maybe they'll be more favorible if you... had been satisfying a certain... requirement."

Santiago crowed with laughter, punching his now-gloved fist into the air at the near glow of their friend's blush.

"Damn straight he did! I knew it!" His grin broadened as he pounded the Fighter on his back. "That's our boy. Takin' one for the team!"

Paz cleared his throat in an attempt to regain control of the situation and stepped away from Santiago and Caracas.

"We're taking too much time in here. Most of the others are already outside," he said calmly, snatching up his own gloves as Armadeo hurriedly yanked on his pants, nearly falling over.

"I'm going to head out," he opened the door to the hallway and stood in its frame, looking back inside. His voice was serious, but a glimmer of a smile lit up his lips. "Anyone else going to join me?"

Early mornings made everything worth doing. Teceous was up at his nromal 'before the crack of dawn time' and had ben partoling. He was cautious. Suspicious. After all, his mind mused on the late return of Paz. A soft shrug was given as he waited. Like a panther stalking a thoughtfully clever two-toned bird.

The black haired dragon had been out for most of the night. For every two hours, he took an hour to nap. Mainly speaking, he achieved about 3 to 4 hours of sleep a night. Depending upon when he started his rounds. But on this particular night, there was a lone officer in the building. While deicated to his work, he was sneeking an alnighter. Alnighters were something that only Teceous was used to. His dark hues had caught sight of the of the faint and very dim light. As he discovered that Luwalk had yet not left the room.

So there the black officer calmly waited outside the yellow officer's door. His breathing shallow and silent as his ears twitched to the soft sound of Luwalk's "delicate" movements. Stumbling included.

((XD;;;; Now we're talking.

OxO Oh! Oh! XDDD Neko! I got a GREAT idea for Sen and Kiele. Kami, don't let them move once INCH outside their bedroom door yet. XDD;;;; ))

Standing still and listening against the door Ruwalk smiled and decided that it was now or never, run or die. He would have to hurry though, he didn't want to run into an early maid or even, the horror, Cernozura! She wouldn't let him hear the end of it.

Ruwalk wasn't worried about his darker colleague, the Black Officer had an early morning training with the fighters so he should already be out there, knowing that early bird. So without further ado, the Yellow Officer pulled the door open quickly and jumped about ten feet into the air, almost hitting the ceiling before falling to the floor as he stared up at the looming figure of the Black Dragon Officer.

"T-t-teceous!!" he almost yelled out as he sat on the floor, only able to stare as his heart continued to beat wildly in his chest from the shock.

He tilted his soft black hues towards the yellow officer as Luwalk about jumped from his skin. Honestly. It wasn't like Teceous had snuck up on the other, he was just innocently standing outside his door. A gloved white hand was offered to the brunette to help him up. "Luwalk." He replied calmly. His eyes slid shut as he looked to the man sitting on the floor.

"You were up all night... Weren't you?" Those inky black eyes opening as he looked to the two-toned brunette. He knew the answer... But weaseling it out of the other would be a fun liltte game of cat and mouse.

Meow.

Ruwalk could just stare at first, then... "What? I-- no! Well, uhm... that is..." Headh falling down a bit, the officer mumbled a "yes" as he grabbed hold of the other's hand and got up. Brushing himself off when he stood on his own two feet he finally glanced up at Teceous again.

"Don't you... uh, got mornign practice with the fighters today? Aren't you going to be late?" he asked, changing the subject and, hopefully, getting the other to think of that instead.

There was a soft russle from the far back as Ryo tossed in his bed, turning his back to most of the talkative Dragon fighters. Beh. He tried not to bother with them much, he like his lonewolf status and prefered to keep it that way. Besides. Didn't they know what time it was? They had to be up and ready to go in twenty minutes.

And he wanted his damn extra five minutes.

A soft hum of thought came from Teceous as he thought back to the dragon fighters. Mmmm... There was the fact of Paz to talk to, but other then that.. His eyes trailed back down to Luwalk from where they had traveled to the ceiling in thought.

"No. I'll be fine... I sent my little girls ahead of me... so all will be taken care of." A sly smirk slithered to the black officer's lips.

"Would you mind if I walked with you back to your room? I assure you a safe arrival. Free of lectures from a certain lovely head maid." A brisk, but hinting malicious snirk came from the black officer.

"Oh! Sen, would you take the door, please?" a low voice giggled outside the door into the fighters' guild. As the door opened, Kiele stepped inside the house, the long, wide corridor lying deserted in front of her. "Come on, Sen, whenever you're ready," the maid whispered, hardly able to keep the large smile from her face. In her hands was a large tray filled with steaming mugs of coffee and chocolate for the fighters.

"Oh, I see," Ruwalk gave a confirming nod, not really understanding what Teceous had done and not really sure he wanted to know either. "And not that I wouldn't be able to do it myself but sure. Thank you-- A-are you laughing at me, Teceous?" Ruwalk gawked at the other officer, feeling almost... almost insulted. Humph! >:<

The ravenette twirled on the balls of her feet as she turned from closing the door. A smile was offered to her companion. Her fingers curled tightly around the metal platter she was carrying with her. It was an old patter, finally retired after it's many years of use. In her other hand. A large metal spoon. A wide grin spread to her lips as the two objects were raised above her head. The noise was one seemingly unfamiliar to the unaware dragon fighters as it echoed through the rooms. "BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG" The smile remained on Sen's lips as she clashed the two objects together.

She finished a moment later. "Good morning Lovies." Her innocent town called through the barracks. It was a delicate relief from the horrid noise from before.

After tuning out the others, the silent was bliss. Then the harpy entered the room with a loud enterance. The horrible metal noise caused Ryokou to make a noise he never knew he could, and reenacting it would be impossible as the poor dragon fighter fell from the bottom bunked bed with a hard thump.

His heart was beating furiously within his chest.

His black brow cocked as his inky hues trailed down the yellow officer, then back up before he turned, his hands resting in the small of his back. A faint smile on his lips. "Of course not." Teceous replied before he began on his moved down the hall, heading for the officer's quarters.

"You are too! Or were... or-- gaah!" The brunette dragon threw his arms into the air before hurrying to follow the other. "So when do you need to be down there?" He questioned as he caught up to the taller officer. "I can make it to my bedroom on my own, you don't need to take me there if you now have to run to get back down. It is on a floor up and then you have more or less three stairs down to the courtyard."

Kiele pulled up her shoulders, seeing as her hands were occupied, as the noise rang through the small complex, making her grin. It would probably scare most of them half to death but at the same time it was too fun. She could remember her and Sen's surprise when the Black Dragon Officer, Teceous, had come into the kitchen and asked them to grab some morning drink and go "gently wake" the fighters. They had been so surprised. Kiele couldn't help but giggle at the poor boys who had this man as a commanding officer all the time.
