It wasn't but 90 seconds before Faryn's eyes snapped open and he took in a wheezy breath. One of his hands shot up instinctively and grabbed a handful of the other's shirt, pulling himself up off the ground slightly. His eyes weren't focused at all and his vision extremely blurry. The drug had been rather potent and awaking someone from such a deep sleep-- even if it was Faryn, wasn't a smooth transition in the least. He was so frustrated. He could feel someone's dress shirt clenched in his fingers. He knew he had to be awake, but he had a very bad headache coming on and he couldn't see the foggiest thing yet.
"Who... is this? How'd you find me? Why can't I see anything?" he asked, demandingly... almost desperately.

He sighed. The prince would probably push him away if he found out who it was, but it would most likely be worse if he remained silent or tired to disguise voice. "It's Jillian. I heard you fall, and... I came in..." He frowned slightly. Evidently the boy knew nothing of how much he had worried him. "As for your temporary blindness, I would hazard a guess that the sleeping draught you took was overly potent..." He sighed in a resiegned fasion and sat down next to the other close enough so that he could still clutch onto his shirt - that is, if he still wished to after he discovered just who had awoken him.

As predicted, Faryn was immediately put off by the identity of his waker. His fingers loosened their hold and his hand only stayed on Jillian's chest because it was so near and the prince couldn't work up the will or energy to push him away. He was sitting up now. "Oh," he replied tiredly. His silver bangs fell into his eyes. Perhaps sitting wasn't such a good idea. The blood draining from his head caused a sharp pain to return to it. "Unn.." he groaned softly in pain and fell forward, only to wind up leaning against other. "Jillian, what'd you do to me?" he asked, becoming completely zonked out it pain.

Mie-tanuki He smiled, a wary smile that indicated he had expected this answer, and backed away from the other so he could gaze at him more clearly. "Alright. Just don't get too caught up with the wills of others... If you come with me, I want you to be free - not wighed down with a burden not your own." His eyes glinted, bright green in the darkness. He blended seemlessly in with his element, although his appearance would have indicated otherwise. Wasn't the weight of burdens just another part of being royalty? But that could very well be something else Sayael was wanting to leave behind. All worries, all burdens. Everything. "Thank you.." Dax said, before realizing himself exactly what he was thanking the other prince for. It was for the opportunity to be free. "I'll have word of my decision sent to you as soon as I choose." His tone was less proper and more lost in thought. With a graceful bow, the long-haired Ice Prince returned his mask onto its rightful place on his face before turning on his heel to return to the party. There was definitely a lot to think about.

"I... cleared away some magic residue the potion left... You may feel weak for while because your blood is thick with magic. My powers... take magic away. When I was young and couldn't control them, they often warped the magic. But I am no longer so careless. This feeling shouldn't last too long, but I'd advise you against consuming anything else with magical properties for a while... It may have... unwanted affects, to say the least."
Sayael watched the other prince leave an sighed. He waited a moment - just long enough for Dax to mingle (or whatever it was he did at parties) so that he wouldn't have to talk to Sayael if he did not wish to. Once he entered, masked, he was set upon by some ladies of the royal house, who all wished to dance with the foreign prince whose identity had been unmasked by someone or other. He sighed and hitched on a dazzling smile and danced with each in turn for no longer than he had to.

Faryn's drained body leaned against the other, his mind not even properly functioning to tell him that he didn't need to lean on anyone: he was the death prince and thus a loner, wasn't he? No need for dependence, wasn't that what he had insisted before? His head throbbed as a nasty little reminder. Someone had used magic against him?! That never happened! And whoa, did it make him feel icky to mix magics. "Jillian, why in hell did you take my potion's effect away? I needed it. And now, I feel even worse than I did when I was angry."

He frowned, not sure of what to say. He had acted purely on impulse and he knew the truth would most likely make Faryn only angrier. "I... when I saw you laying on the floor, I was afraid," he said slowly, picking his words carefully. "I suppose if I had been thinking I would have left you, knowing you only did it because you wished it so." 'Which was exceedingly selfish,' a small voice said. "But I've seen many murder attempts. If there really was an attacker and he forced you to drink and then put the bottle in your hand, what should I have done?" He bit his lip slightly and it took him a moment to realise he was tasting blood.

In most instances, Dax hated the mask set upon his face, but for another, it was more of a blessing. It did well to hide his thoughtful, almost lost eyes. Thankfully most of the nobleman he absently chatted with didn't take it into note to actually look into a person's eyes when speaking to them. It was a trait for most royalty. They never much cared if someone was actually paying attention. As long as they were seen with other nobleman, it was alright. Eventually he resigned to his seat which was supposedly beside his parents, but whom were both missing among the crowd. The blonde prince idly toiled with a loose feather on his mask as he allowed his thoughts to drown him. Parties were such a bore.

Sayael sighed as the last lady departed after he assured her that no, he did not much wish to dance any longer. He frowned. He didn't like wearing a mask. He would have taken it off, but he currently wished his expression to remain unseen. He watched Dax as he talked and could tell he wasn't really paying attention. He got up when he saw the other prince sit down and went to stand beside him. He cast arround for something to say that did not envolve his proposal to the other. "Would you like to dance?" he asked finally.

The question was almost a surprise to the Ice Prince. Not only because he wouldn't suspect the other boy to ask such a thing, but also because his mind had drifted so far out. It was as if Sayael's voice had jerked him back into reality. Could he say the offer was a relief? Dancing may get his thoughts off what could come later on. "Sure, I'd love to," he replied, rising to his feet and extending a hand to the prince. Near the beginning of the masquerade, this was definitely the last place he saw himself. Dancing.. Another boring lesson he had been forced to learn. His mother herself, actually, had been his teacher.

((To clarify something, in the Nation it is not only accepted but normal for there to be same sex marriages, even for kings because they usually have consorts, anyway (for an heir).)) He took the hand and guided Dax to the dance floor. He slipped a hand onto the other's waiste and they began to dance, weaving in and out of the dancers. He didn't take his eyes off the other prince, but some how they seemed to float through all the other dancers gracefully, not even coming close to hitting another pair.

He bit his lip slightly and it took him a moment to realise he was tasting blood. Feeling his strength come back a bit, he pressed his hand against the other's chest, forcing Jillian away. His partner wanted only to make sure he had not died? Been murdered? Why should Jillian care? The memory of the love confession not even striking his mind, Faryn decided it was only to save Jillian's reputation. A dead prince wouldn't look good on anyone's record. "I see," he nodded, pressing a hand to his forehead and beginning to try and surpress the headache. His vision was becoming increasingly less blurry, and it was only minutes before he pushed his rather wobbly frame from the floor. Faryn nearly fell over from the change in position. He reached out a hand to brace himself until it collided with something solid.

He was ready for the hand that pushed him away, but he did not resist. It hurt him, but not physically. He watched the other as he seemed to have trouble focusing his vision, Jillian's expression etched with concern. "Let me help you..." he said softly. He reached out a hand just as the prince reached out to steady himself on something sollid and it his his chest, for they were still quite near. He grasped that hand, wanting to help the other up because he doubted Faryn would appriciate it if Jillian tried to make him lie back down.

With the assistance, Faryn steadied himself on his feet. He despised what the other had said, though. After a few moments of nothing but the sound of breathing, the death prince possessively stole his hand away out of the other's grasp and shut off the physical connection. His vision was nearly restored; just a bit fuzzy around the edges, but otherwise clear. Though he could be rather rude at times, Faryn managed a quiet, civilized "thank you," before turning his back to the other. He hated receiving help from anyone. It was very awkward for him to be put in the rare situation hindering him enough that he required any assistance. Moving to the door, and he surprised to find it merely unlocked. He himself had petrified it. Who in this castle could possibly remove that but him. Glancing back at Jillian with a frown, he stated very slowly, "I need to go find the ice prince, now... do you know what he looks like, Jillian? I haven't seen him since I was six."

He got up somewhat stiffly and managed a "You're welcome" in return. He watched the other make his unsteady way towards the door and it pained him that he would not allow Jillian to help him. "I beleive it will be rather simple as he has long bright blond hair. Not a trait most people have... Hmmm... it would be most likely to find him sitting on his thrown or talking to various important people," he said with a shadow of his usual smile.
