Colche

Colche smiles and nods though she gets up and pads over to the shelves and pulls out the book entitles big cats, she sits down next to Kaveri and flicks through the pages til she finds a page with left over meat on it and big frightening birds perched upon it. "Big birdie" she states simply, she had seen the picture before and the ruff which surrounded kaveri's neck reminded her alot of them, well except for the face they were all grey faces and grey beaked. Kaveri was rather colourful.

Looking thoughtful she closed the pages, she was much too colourful to be one of those birdies "Maybe parrot?" she questioned looking at the bright colours which covered the other femmesface.

Kaveri looked at the photo of the vultures gathered around their carcass of a meal and reached up to feel her neck ruff again, running her finger and thumb through the soft grey feathers. Sure, she was a lot more colorful than those birds in the picture, but she hadn't thought of any other birds with that neck ruff. "Vultures," she says to Colche, pointing to the picture. "Dey eat dead things."

She rubbed her chin at Colche's suggestion of a parrot, hmming out loud. "A parrot? I guess I am radder colorful... my head is, at least." But she wasn't sure about parrots' diets... the parrots she's seen ate birdseed, not meat. "Are dere any that eat only meat?"

She rifled through a few more pages, looking for the chapter on vultures in case Colche wanted to see some more of the big scavenger birds.

Colche looked thoughtful, she didn't know very much about parrots, only that they were colourful and makes squarkey noises. They lived all over the jungle. "unno" she stated simply looking at the book that Kaveri held, maybe it had the answersbooks held all the answers.

The big meat eating birds were a bit scary though, she could hardly even imagine the size haviing never seen one outside of the big cats book, and of course in the junglebook and the luionking, but she really couldn't glean their true size from these forms of media.

Kaveri flipped through a few more pages of the vulture chapter. Turkey vulture, black-headed vulture, lammergeier... and then she came across a page with the picture of a particular white vulture with a colorful noggin.

User Image
Below the picture, 'KING VULTURE' is written in large bold text.

Her hand froze just as she was about to turn the page, her two fingers poised to pull at the page's corner. But no, she couldn't bring herself to turn the page. She hovered her finger over the picture, running her fingertip down the face and neck of the white vulture. The markings on its face and hers were frighteningly similar, and it even had silver eyes and the grey neck ruff and...

Kaveri swallowed. "You're ******** kidding me," she said to herself in a low, croaking voice. She showed the picture to Colche, pointing to the vulture. She was probably going to regret the answer to this question, like a lot of her questions pertaining to this awful rock of an island. "Do you... do you dink I look like dis?"

Colche's ears flattened when Kaveri swore and she acctually looked worried, her big blue eyes fixed on the woman for a few moments her body acctually tence. licking her lips in a nervy manner though her eyes were drawn to the book and the image of the big colourful bird. The cheetah girl nodded "Purty birdie" she giggles, thinking it must be some sort of parrot after all vultures were grey right? Looking at the passage beneath Colche bit her tongue and said the word out loud "King" she knew that word well "Vul..chor" she giggles at that "Kaveri queen!" her grin widened, Kaveri looked old enough to be a female king so there fore a queen, it was all basic logic really.

Well, Colche is right -- it is rather pretty for a vulture. Every cloud has a silver lining... But a vulture is still a vulture, and it still ate dead things. And it started to make sense to Kaveri -- her new meat diet, her picking at Aubrey, that whole God-forsaken incident with the dead rabbit... and if anything, it was only going to get more disgusting from here.

But at least it's a pretty bird, as far as vultures go. Maybe Moreau saying that he chose a 'pretty' bird for her had some grain of truth, maybe not. Beauty is a rather subjective thing.

"A queen vulture?" Kaveri repeated, giving a laugh. She wasn't in the best of moods, but that cheetah-girl is just too damn cheerful for Kaveri to go off grumping at her because of her hand-chosen serum. "'Fraid to see what I'd be de queen of," she grins, "Ain't got much of a kingdom to rule over. Queen of Duplex 44 and traumatizing the newfolk, maybe."

Kaveri as royalty. The thought made the vulture-woman scoff, although it was pretty ironic. From rags to riches, but taken to heart by some god with a horrible sense of humor.

She found it very sickly funny, all things told, and gave a loud, racous laugh.

New RP

Chana was browsing through the massive video collection again, trying to find something to suit her mood. The beaver was...well...confused. She knew she loved Stewart, she was pretty sure he loved her...

...it had just been such a while since she'd last seen him. It was enough to allow doubts. She sighed and pulled out a movie at random. The beaver smiled. Bell, Book and Candle it was.

Tommy blinks against the sun, looking around at the surrounding buildings before heading into one at random. Deciding against his military uniform, today he's just wearing jeans, t-shirt, and his worn down combat boots.

.oO(Goddamn, there's gotta be one around here somewhere...) he thinks to himself as he pushes open the door to the entertainment room.

After stepping inside, it takes a moment for his eye to adjust.

Chana looked up from the VCR at the sound of someone opening the door, and the scent she didn't recognize. She blinked, trying to make out the face of the man, but it was difficult to see anything with the bright lights of the hallway behind him.

She smiled, a little sheepishly. "Hello...I was just about to pop in a movie...did you want to watch?" she asked. He didn't...he didn't really look like he'd changed. Oh...shoot. Did that mean he was new? Chana really hoped not.

After shutting the door behind him, Tommy rubs his eyes.
.oO(damn contacts...)

Blinking, he looks to Chana... .oO(Oh...goddamnit...is there anyone here who hasn't changed?)

Tommy tries not to let this thought show on his face. This isn't too hard though with the prospect of a movie.

"Um...sure," He says as he steps in closer.

"Oh, I'm Tommy by the way." He tries to keep his face pleasant even though he's talking to a beaver woman lady.

"Chana," she responded, trying to give an encouraging smile. The buck teeth probably weren't helping matters...Tommy looked distinctly uncomfortable.

"It's Bell, Book and Candle," she added, unsure if this...athletic looking young man would be interested in an old romantic movie. She privately doubted it.

Tommy gives a glance around the room, seemingly searching for something. After a moment he gives up, looking dissapointed.

Looking back to Chana, "Chana you said? Huh. Yeah, never heard of that movie before. What's it about?" he says while walking toward the couch.

The beaver wondered what he was looking for. But she kept quiet about that for the moment, nodding at him encouragingly for getting her name right.

"It's about a man and a woman who fall in love. And the woman's a witch. It's from 1958," she added. There would be no incredibly convincing special effects to be seen. But it was one of Chana's old favorites, for some reason.

Tommy looks to the ceiling of the room for a moment, trying to find the cameras he keeps hearing about. Sighing he looks back to Chana with a grin, "Well hell, I've got nothing better to do. From what I've been hearing I'm going to be stuck here for a long time, huh?" He plops down on the couch.

She gave him a funny look as he looked up at the ceiling. What on earth was he looking for? It had completely slipped past her that there were cameras. She knew about them, yes, but had long ago decided that they didn't affect her and so didn't matter.

"It's not so bad," the beaver protested half-heartedly as she pushed the tape in and hit play. She ignored the words 'November' and 'March' that were still echoing in her thoughts. Looking on the past would serve little purpose, the future was what mattered more.
