MS as in Multiple Sclerosis? That is what my mother has. I think it would be great for you to go on a disablility pension, for the reasons you mentioned. And if you became a writer, or a musician, or if you could be interested in doing volunteer work, you wouldn't be any sort of drag on society at all. There are plenty of kinds of important contributions that one can make to society other than economic ones. Even if you decide not to get into anything like that, as long as you're a positive influence in at the few lives you touch in day to day interaction, you'll still be serving an important function. What I'm trying to say is that it is the opposite side of the coin from the damage done by abusive or adicted people.
...Just make sure you save and invest enough to cover yourself and any special emergencies or expenses that will arise in the future.

I was thinking the same thing too, so long as I carry only a minimal debt load and have monies for a rainy day, and keep up investing for retirement, I should be okay. Since I do not ever intend on having kids, that is a huge financial drain I won't have.

And even though it's kind of creepy and redundant, I was going to mention that I as well do not wish to breed, and it was my family that, similarily, planted the idea of marrying money in my head.
More seriously though, I really do mean it when I say I think it might be great for you to take that pension. It's not like you'd be ripping the system off, since you have a legitimate reason and need financial assistance. And, I might go so far as to say that you might, in fact, be less of a burdon on society if you do! surprised xp Honestly though, if you can't work a full time job to support yourself, you may well end up having to work at whatever you can to make ends meet and it won't be very profitable at all. If you get on a pension though, you'll have the time and freedom to choose what you want to work on. And you're a bright person, so if you can find something you're passionate about, something that you're able to do comfortably and at your own pace, I'm certain that the product of your efforts will be a great contribution to society. Perhaps greater than any contribution you could ever make as a member of the labour force. So whether you create media, entertainment with a message, art, music, writing, or even if you just live your quiet and positive life, you will be a benefit to society 3nodding Better than any workaholic, multi-millionaire executive of a large evil corporation that tears apart the economies of developing nations in order to cut maufacturing and labour costs. Better than any producer of addictive, uninteligent, television fluff that wastes hours of time from the lives of millions of people and offers no intellectual value in return. Better to just love your family and spread positivity to and through them. Better to just kill time on gaia and share some interesting casual discussion with random kninjas who've limited other options for socializing less they venture to a scene rife with drug and alcohol abuse, disrespect toward women, and all sorts of other negative vibes. 3nodding

Yes, basically the same thing I said before but in different words, but I'm more awake now so I figured I could try another go at it xp That's just the oppinion I formed off of your positive comments towards that particular choice though. In fact, I may be basing my own thoughts more on what I know and have observed in the situations of my mother and other people I know who are physically limited in their ability to work a job confused Definitely, it is a choice that only you can make for yourself, and that will take some serious consideration. Seems from what you've had to say that you've allready talked yourself into it though, so I'm probably safe whee
