Kai nodded to Xiah, and ate the rest of the herbs with a glare at Twisted. "He can be pretty nice..."
Shaitani was slightly offended that Sanura offered to call him cruel under any ciscumstance. She would never understand cruel while living near him.
With a sharp lashing of his tail through the air, he turned form them, "I would have ben easily inclined ot say yes, however, you threaten to insult me, causing my mind to reel in different directions. I will thikn it over and have an answer for you by dawn tomorrow." When that he finishe dhis turn and stalked back to the cave, past his son and Xiah, and into the alcove, laying down and resting his large head upon platter-sized paws. He needed to think.
Pandora gave an audible chuckle to the pair as the king departed them. The female had not measured her words at all, or gotten to know anyhting of the king before speaking. She laughed again, and continued to clean herself, still chuckling at the situation.
((I can't let things be easy all the time. What fun would I have? wink ))

Xiah sighed, laying her head down onto her paws. Oh she was tired, but she wouldn't say anything, but, at this rate, she might show it.

Sanura sighed and laid back down with her ears pressed against her head in disappointment. She had not ment to offend anyone. She just said what she felt in her heart. Though Hearts hardly won in politics. It was far too late now that much she knew. Maybe even Malamis thought she had spoken foolishly. That thought didn't set well with her at all and she put her paws over her head in shame and sorrow.

Kai looked to Twisted quickly, then nudge Xiah, "Hey, I know a cool place we can relax..." He stood up and moved over Twisted's paws, "We'll be in the forest," he said, leading the way to the entrance of the cave, then waiting to see if Xiah would follow.

Ai Ning had long stayed silent in the pride, watching, and silently getting to know the memebers. She was begining to gain confidence, and smiled to herself as she lay in the den.

He licked Sanura's head as he glanced at his King as he walked away. That had been handled poorly. He shook his head, He understood what his mate had been saying, why hadnt his King? She wasnt calling him cruel, just the idea of making her choose being cruel. He glanced at the unknown female, he gave a snort as he rose to his paws. "I'll be back." He whispered in her ear as he padded away, he entered the cave.
Padding towards his King, he paused a foot or two away. He bowed his head respectfully. " My King." He spoke, lifting his head he glanced at him. "Her wording may have been a bit poorly in trying to explain what she meant. But it was no insult, this you must see. The action itself, making her choose would be cruel. Not you." Malamis spoke kindly, his heart was in a flutter, he would leave if it was what must be done to be with his mate.

Shaitani lifted his head exhaustedly to Malamis, "And I'm afraid you fail to understand why I took it as an insult. That it would be cruel to make her choose implies that I would be cruel to make hre choose, since really it is the same thing." His voice was cool, and the words fell casually from his mouth. They held no anger or challenge in them, but only information. "I take insult to that, my son, because my father was the cruelest king one could imagine. I have made it a point to rule much differently than that, and implying that I would be cruel is like saying that I would be following in his pawsteps. I understand that neither of you knew this, but no matter the situation or the story behind it, accusing a king of being cruel, or implying that they could be at some point, is quite the insult."

Malamis shook his lowering head. " No, you are not your father. And I am gravely sorry to hear such. And yes, I do understand." He sighed as he turned away, Malamis was very tight lipped about his past, none knew it. Not even Twisted. "I'll let your mind rest, and leave you be." He slowly turned away, he glanced to his adoptive mother.
Purring softly he rubbed his maned head against her shoulder, he glanced at the wound on her leg. It was healing poorly, but it had already basicly healed. He pawed her muzzle like he had as a child. " You should have rested Mama." He said as he licked her muzzle.
Twisted grinned as she lifted her head, she'd aged well. Yes, older than both her King and Queen, Twisted purred as she returned her son's nuzzle. " Malamis, your King is right. She should not have spoken such, my son. Though I know, in your heart, and in hers. She did not mean it as such." She slowly stood to her paws gracefully. " Go.." She nudged him towards the opening of the cave.
She turned her sights onto the King, he was young in apparence but it seemed just as old as she. Padding towards the kill she'd made before the callers had called, she used a skilled claw to break him off a piece of the beast. Carring it towards him, she dropped it in front of him. "Eat my King. Your growing thin." She teased him with a motherly tone. " My son, adores you." She lowered to her haunches and glanced towards her golden son. " I know, he wishes to advise you. He is young, but...a cunning mind lurks behind his kind eyes."

Shaitani looked up at Twisted as she dropped the meat and lowered herself. Malamis had spoken to her shortly right after leaving him. Rest... He smiled wearily at her and bowed his head in thanks, "I thanks you for the meat." He gave a sigh. Thin? He gave a small, quiet chuckle, "Age has little to do with wisdom - of this I am well learned. I do not doubt him at all... But Sanura asks much of me, and I'm muc too irritable right now to think sensibly. Plus, returning home to see my son and another of my pride generously beaten... I'm exhausted."
Pandora waited outside the cave, sitting patiently, her tail tapping with a moderate rhythym. She could hear everything that was being said in the back of the cave. She felt a strange sympathy for the king, but also for Malamis and his mate.

"No, wisdom has nothing to do with age." She nodded her head, she sides were becoming swollen with life. She wasnt hiding the fact, just it didnt slow her any. "Sleep my King. He will stay with her outside the cave for the night. You've been busy. Your son is fine, he and his friend are both fine. Cubs can be a triffle bit of a pawful, and when your King, it seems even more so." She bowed her head. " I'll leave you now, heavy with thought and full. My job is finished for the time being." She stood to her paws and padded out of the cave, she glanced to Pandora and paused mid step. "Hello." She said cooly. Her mind was heavy as well, she knew she was with cubs, but for the oddest reason. She could not remember how it had happened.

Fei Rou sat by the stream, head resting on her paws. Lazy eyes watched the silver substance flow, picking out the rocks and tiny fish near the bottom. Some would think she was a reclusive but she only watched nature. And her Guardian, Ahti. Ahti intrigued her like no other did.
Why her?

He sat off in the distance, his eyes stayed on her. He remained silent, rarely did it utter words. And most often it was only her name. Fei Rou was someone he thought highly of, and oddly enough even in his young age felt strongly about. His tail flicked behind him as his head tilted to the side, the muscles under his brightly colored coat quivered as he envisoned pouncing her into the stream.

The fur on the back of the Princess's neck rose. Someone was thinking about her. She had that uncanny little ability to see into someones mind for an instance. A Seer maybe? Well, whatever it was it involved mischief.

Rising to his paws, Ahti moved up behind her. He'd never actually touched her before, something just felt...strange about it. He continued to move up behind her, the power in his legs shivered as he scrounched down and pounced on her. Poucing her.
