Gigi Gennaro – 9 + 8 + 5 +5
Total = 27

From the dark forest, Gigi stumbled into a different kind of darkness. It had a heaviness to it, oppressive and frightening in a way the previous areas hadn’t felt to her. Maybe she was too tired to run further. Maybe she was in shock from the scratches and cuts the forest had left on her. Maybe. Maybe she should give up.

If she hadn’t been in the thick of the group, she might have stayed where she was, doubled over and trying to catch her breath until the static took her. But the crowd pushed her forward, buoying her up. Even if it was too dark to recognise faces, they were real and there, struggling with her, and that penetrated the dark dread. She focused on keeping up, though where they were going in this nightmare she couldn’t guess. She’d lost her sense of direction.

It was only when she stumbled into something that she realised there were shapes in the dark, on the edges of her vision. She squinted at it, rubbing at an arm that was suddenly numb. But it was junk. Mounds and mounds of things, mountains of them, broken things of all kinds. They could barely even be called antiques, they were so battered and shattered. This world seemed to be just the discard pile of life. She turned away, only to brush against another pile, sparking under her hand. She caught onto it for balance, instinctively, and something worse formed in the objects. A ball of the static, like a spot fire. It began to eat into the objects, the darkness, leaving void.

Gigi jerked her hand away, numbed and choking on sobs. Hunching in her shoulders to avoid further collisions, she ran again. Where to wasn’t the issue anymore. Just away.

There is no new horror beyond the last tear of worlds; for a moment you are trapped in blackness--and then, in the blink of an eye, you find yourself greeted with a familiar tune, a familiar lighting, a familiar room.

You are back at the charity banquet, exactly where you were before.

Conversations continue around you, as if you never left--but there are a number of faces, shocked and surprised and looking around, trying to figure out what just happened.

Not everyone in this room went through that portal, but you can hope that everyone who did managed to get back out.

The clarity of the experience makes it difficult to dismiss it as a dream or trick of the mind. The abysmal dread almost seems to linger in the air for a moment; in the distance, the television crackles and turns off, wheeled out of the room as if nothing happened.

Quote:
Congratulations, you escaped! The resentful magic that powered the cursed television seems to have been abated with your suffering. While you may choose to feel any residual effects from your experience within the strange realm it conjured, you may also simply have a strange, dreamy sensation about the whole experience.

While you are free to continue roleplaying in this thread, there will be no more mule posts. Please try to backfill all of your rolls within the next few weeks, even if it is only a sentence or two.

Everyone who had a character that participated in the ORP will receive one Rewind Charm, to be distributed to a participating character of their choice. No matter how many characters you participated with, each player can only claim one item. However, this item will also be added to our list of Permanent IC RP Accessories! If you would like to obtain more of these, you may win another one in the raffle, claim for individual participation rewards, or purchase with Crown Tokens.

If any of your participating characters rolled 25 or higher, you are now also in the possession of one Universal Remote; even if you had multiple characters that rolled above 25, you can only claim one of these items to give to any of your participating characters. You cannot give these items to any of your characters who did not participate. This item can only be obtained through this ORP and cannot be purchased or won elsewhere!

Quote:
Rewind Charm - A decorative, palm sized, circular charm with an engraved button in the center.
This intricately carved charm seems to have been designed so that the user could fiddle with it; parts of it twist and shift though there doesn’t seem to be any particular purpose for this aside from entertainment. When the Rewind Charm is pointed at an inanimate object and the button pressed, it has the can ‘rewind’ the object back to a previous state in time. It cannot break an item down into components but it can restore it from significant damage. It cannot fix large building structures, however it can repair large objects, such as statues. This can be used on an item on Earth or on Homeworlds. It can be used in Mirrorspace and Negaspace as well, however you may need staff permission to determine what can be restored in Chaos oriented locations. This item can be used once before the magic is expired, at which point in time it can be kept as a neat memento! This item can be used freely in one on one roleplays but please speak to the host of any shop or player run event to confirm that you can use this item during their event!

Quote:
Universal Remote - A palm sized remote that looks both ancient and extremely high tech.
The handheld remote at one point in time must have been used for something important; there are several buttons, each with a unique symbol to indicate purpose. While some of the symbols are easy enough to recognize, there are several symbols that are completely undecipherable. Thankfully, the buttons with symbols you recognize seem to all work--there is a pause button, a play button, a fast forward button, a rewind button, and a mute button. This item has a battery life of five minutes, after which point in time it will become non functioning. It must be used at once. The remote can only use one function at a time, and can only affect one target at a time. When pointing at any living creature, the remote will permit the item’s owner to rewind them and make them repeat actions already performed, backwards, to pause them in place (however, they will unfreeze if their life is in immediate danger), fast forward them to give them increased speed, and a mute button to render them speechless and completely silent. Pressing the play button removes all affects. This item cannot be used on inanimate objects. While the remote’s magic can only be used once, it can be kept as a neat memento afterwards! This item can be used freely in one on one roleplays but please speak to the host of any shop or player run event to confirm that you can use this item during their event!

Though this RP required everyone to be a civilian, it will count as a battle towards requirements! If you write at least 500 words you may also claim a Luna-P Growth Item! Regardless of how many characters you played, you can only claim one growth item. Make sure you post for this in your growth item log! These must be claimed within the next two weeks, so if you haven't filled out your posts yet, please do so by then!

Our tallies indicated that the following player has at least one character who rolled 25 or higher; if you are not on this list but you rolled 25 or higher with one character, please let us know!

If you are completing a Bingo Card, this ORP can also be used as either your finished RP or solo or it can be counted as a battle! You cannot use it for both though, sorry! To claim use of this ORP for either, you must have written at least 500 words (either with one character or with multiple characters) prior to the closing post. You can still fill out your posts, but you cannot join the ORP with a new character after the closing post.

Thank you all for participating!

Ezekiel and Yolie

Zeke herded his cousin through the final tear. Only after she was out did he follow, and once in the black, there was silence.

Yolie came back to focus first, looking around slowly, shifting and looking every last person over before thew door opened and she noted her uncle arriving late. No injuries, no tears, nothing. Yolie blinked, and looked to Zeke as hew gasped, and looked far more confused, brows knit before he bent, whispering.

"Magic?"

"Seems so." Yolie shrugged, and turned to stretch. She was simply happy it didn't trap them forever, but whomever bought that was in for one herll of an angry televbision. Not her problem though, and Yolie turned, following Zeke to her uncle gratefully. Somehow, having him trhere made it much easier.

And then there was a bright explosion of light. She closed her eyes and when she opened them again she was back at the charity event. It was almost l like nothing at all happened. She looked around her. Some people were talking and looking like nothing out of the ordinary happened. She did see some confused faces here and there. But the majority of them were carrying on like normal. She whirled around and found the door. Rain or not she was getting the hell out of there. She made her way to the door and without hesitation she left the charity.

Liliane Benson

She was free!

She hadn't been entirely sure of what she'd expected, but she had been conveniently deposited back where she had been before the madness. Yep, she was right outside the hall again, and she could hear the familiar hum of a crowd inside, most of which seemed to have been untouched by the chaos. She afforded a quick glance towards the windows before shaking her head; why couldn't she have been one of those who hadn't been hauled in?

She knew better than to think this was a dream, she knew better than to assume she had been drugged and had a wild trip. No, she knew that this had been magic unique to this city and once again she'd been dragged in to it. Even when she was off duty it seemed like there was no escaping it when it decided to meddle...

"Keyring?" A voice interrupted her thoughts and she turned round to see the smiling, helpful face of one of the festival volunteers. She had a box in her arms and sure enough, inside were an array of multi-coloured keyrings. It looked like she too had escaped the chaos and given her enthusiastic and warm expression it would be unfair to sour that mood.

"Oh, yes please!" Lily caught herself and placed a hand in to draw out the Amber Star Charm. It was another one to add to her collection, one that was slowly but surely growing and it was a much more positive reminder of the evening than her little adventure.

Given her companion hadn't come out with her, she could only hope that she or he had been deposited somewhere safe when they'd stepped through the light. Unfortunately as neither of them had spoken and neither would have been able to recognise the other there was really no point in her attempting to locate them for the time being. Instead, it seemed more useful to head home for now.

A warm bath and some comfort food seemed like a solid idea...

February Bloom

And just like that it was over - she was back where she started, at that familiar corner of the street, with all her shopping bags by her side. It was as if nothing had even happened and to say she was flustered was an understatement. She'd only just returned to Destiny City and as such, wasn't familiar with the City's bad habit of lashing out expectantly with magic. What she had thought was a dream was now in doubt, it wasn't as if she was inclined to simply fall asleep in the middle of the street... but if it wasn't that then what was it?

She thought better than to have a mild crisis in public and with that in mind she took a breath and pressed on towards the subway. It was better for her to have any freak outs in the privacy of her own home, when she'd had time to process what had happened, and how it could even be physically possible.

She never did get to thank her little helper.

No sooner had she been grabbed and pulled in to the light than they had both parted ways again. The most she could do was send her thanks upwards towards the stars and hope that the world would be kind to the one who had helped her.

Right now though? It was home time. Her pace quickened to a brisk walk as she made to catch her train. She'd park the thoughts for now and figure the rest out later.

...Provided she could figure it out that was.

The glassness at the end was nothing, Ariel went into the tear, waiting to see what was waiting again in the next place. It was dark again but then music came to her ears, it sound familiar, the light was back to normal and she could see she was back in the room.

This was the Charity banquet. Some people seemed to didn't realized anything happened, some were making faces like they were lost. Ariel wondered what kind of face she was making herself. This was so strange.

Was it a dream ? It didn't seems like it was actually planned by the organisation. But then slowly what happened seems to linger in the air.

Ariel took a glass and decided to go a little outside to have some fresh air. She didn't get the chance to discuss with anyone really yet so maybe during the ball.
She took a look at the clock waiting for her to bring it back home. The sight made her feel a little better.

As she was outside the rain seemed to have calmed down a little so she took five minute to get an other of the star charms she was now collecting. She received the violet this time.

If I have more than 1000 words can I count it as 2 battle ? If not it's fine of course smile

Gigi Gennaro

Gigi thought she felt the static of going through another tear, but there was no light on the other side, and in that momentary darkness, she wondered if she had the will to run any further.

And then the lights came up, leaving her blinking. All around her, people were dressed for a ball, and the scenery- The ‘scenery’ was real, she realised with a jolt. The people were real. Whatever magic had reigned, it had let her free at last.

Gigi pushed to the edge of the charity crowd, still trying to get her breath back, and shake off the images of the final nightmare scene. She bumped up against something, and jerked away, fearing the numbing hungry darkness, but it was just one of the auction tables, half-empty now. People were still collecting their wins. It was hard to tell if time had passed at all.

The volunteer on the other side of the table smiled at her. “You’re here for the coffee pot, right? Congratulations!”

Chihaya Lockhart

A sound, a light, and then... ah, she was back in the car. A dream then? Moving her hand back she felt something next to it. Grabbing it she looked at it... some kind of charm? It wasn't her mother's usual style, but it could just be another expensive thing that she wanted to pass onto her daughter. With a sigh, she looked out the window at the place they had arrived it. Fashionably late her mother would say though Chihaya would prefer not showing up at all.

With a sigh, she heard the door opening and she was let out of the car. Was she really so board she was dreaming about ways to get out of this event? What a morbid thought though guess that was her in a nutshell right… the girl who whore funeral clothes at an event meant for fun. If anyone asked it why she was wearing what she was, she would respond with she was just being prepared for when she died of boredom.

As she walked up to join the party she blinked for a second as she looked around the ballroom she entered. Didn’t she see some of these people in her dream… was it a coincidence or… now that she thought about it… didn’t something strange happen to her like this once before. Eyes narrowing beneath her veil she pondered… would another strange occurrence happen again in the future. Something unknown and exciting? And after staring blankly she decided to do something that she usually wouldn’t get away with. She turned to leave the party and look up at the stars.

She would probably get an earful later… but at the moment this felt right. Chihaya’s white hair billowed behind her in the night breeze. It's tomorrows problem if her mother was going to be mad at her.

Daisy Grace

Blinking as darkness faded to light and then reformed into the ball room, Daisy jumped a tiny bit before glancing down at herself. While she could still feel slight phantom pains, she displayed no physical evidence of having been shot by lasers or half-mauled by some unseen beast.

She was ready to put it all down to over exertion, too many people crammed into the ballroom... Heck, just a simple out of control daydream. Except, she also had caught sight of several people around her. And the looks on their faces did not make it easy to dispel her idea of any easy, rational explanations.

Shivering a little, she began to gently shove her way through the crowd to the exit. She didn't really care so much about the ball anymore. She just wanted to go home and sleep for a week.

Sadie Avamir

She had been fighting the odd darkness, running and walking as she found herself tripping on piles of discarded things. There was no tear in reality the way there had been the other times. There was simply light, proper light, so much that it seemed to burn her eye after all that darkness.

Then she was back, standing in the ballroom as if nothing had happened. There were snack trays, and ticket booths, and people, all looking a bit startled but no worse for the wear.

She glanced around until she saw her sister, and then she finally let herself relax.

Alise

And then she was back right where she started! If Alise hadn't known any better, she might have assumed this was all a dream. Instead, she knew based on experience that this had been a Very Real Experience, a new story to talk about later.

In the meantime, though, she really needed to be headed back home.

--

Morie

Morie had been almost anticipating that they'd be thrown into yet another strange realm, with some new thing they'd have to run from, but was ultimately surprised to find herself back outside, as Hakodate, as if nothing had happened at all. Well, that had certainly been a strange experience, and she wasn't really certain as if it had actually happened or if it had been some weird walking dream or something.

Agh, she'd think more about it later. After she went home and took a nap, of course.

--

Anming

And just like that, Anming was back at the banquet, extremely lost as to what had just happened. Maybe it was better not to think about it, to be honest? She shook her head, trying to clear her thoughts, and decided that yes, it was better not to dwell too much on it.

She would, though, continue to avoid large gatherings once more, though.

Ilse

Ah, sweet sweet freedom. Ilse was back at the banquet, in one piece and her attire (and hair) both perfect, as if nothing had happened. And maybe, nothing had happened? Yes, that was a good idea, pretend it hadn't happened, even if the others looked fairly confused and lost. Nothing had happened, Ilse had been here the entire time, and her dignity was still intact.

That was her story, and she was sticking to it.

(Alise, Morie, Anming, Ilse exit)

It was hard to push thru the feelings of despair, and the want to just give up, but he hadn't gotten so far in his life by giving up. He'd climbed up as far as he had by working and trying - by fighting. And he did fight his way out, with his cousin held onto tightly, as he got them to the next tear and right thru it.

He was honestly expecting something else, some other movie or tv show, but there was nothing, Everything around them was the same as when they'd been sucked into the tv. That didn't mean he let go of his cousin though, not yet, he didn't trust things at the moment.

"I didn't think we'd make it out of the last room...or Jurassic park." Those two had been the worse, for different reasons, but neither had been easy. "That last one...it was like fighting the want to remain - to just give up. No more fighting, no more war. But then....then what about our family if we vanished...what about Aiden." Even if he hadn't seen or talked to Aiden in so long. He couldn't just vanish on him either. When he'd been dating Aiden he'd fought hard to return home to him, and the rest of his family, and he would continue to fight even now.

"All those broken things...so sad and miserable...a mimsy." Miserable and flimsy...a mimsy.

When they broke through the final tear and the press of despair had left Hux gave a sigh of relief. Not that he realized they were finally free right away just that he was glad the oppressiveness was gone. It took looking around to see they were back where they started and Alex speaking before it sunk in that they must have passed through the event. "I didn't either and I'm not sure I would have been able to with out your help, thank you for that." Hux said with a small but grateful smile that was soon added to with a hug.

"Yeah, it was hard but we did it. They wont have to wonder about us being gone, lost with the broken things." He frowned briefly at the mention of Aiden, not particularly happy with that one right now for the heartache he caused Alexandre, but smoothed it out a moment later. He wasn't going to say anything else on that subject while Alex was still down from the last room.
