Altair (Wraith)

Altair drummed his fingers on the desk, his gaze directed at the ceiling. So... How many souls were here again? It was kinda chaos around the hotel, so he hadn't really gotten the chance to observe who he was dealing with.

There was Kisa, of course. The very definition of a sweet angel. She didn't like fights or bickering, probably because she didn't know how to deal with them or stop them. To him she seemed a little... sheltered, but she was a genuine angel for sure.

Then there was Odstarva. Archangel for sure, that blade against his throat earlier was no joke, and neither was he. He seemed... annoyed with all the demons to say the least. Not someone he wanted to get on bad terms with.

There was also Thorival. He honestly acted exactly like what he hated most, a dog. A loyal dog to that archangel. He never understood the appeal of being completely at the disposal of someone else. It wasn't forced upon him, but he WANTED to. Him and that crybaby prince were brothers too, both fallen angels, except Thorival was redeemed. That was a bit... surprising.

Demitrious Von whatever seemed to be haughty and demanding, he threw a FIT just a moment ago when that tiefling insulted him accidentally. Although he had a feeling the guy was all bark and no bite.

Then there was that cat angel, Prism. The girl looked like she was going to wet herself with how terrified she was. Although he'd give her some credit, she looked like she was trying pretty hard to do her job. Although, why was she sent down here into the depths of hell if she was so scared? What did they do, draw her name out of a hat?

The silver eyed girl, who he overheard was named Wynter, seemed short tempered and mocking of Demitrious. She seemed to always pick a fight with the wrong people, and judging by how pale her face went when Josef was talking about his reaction to wrath. she'd gotten herself involved with him.

There was the green haired demoness too, who seemed to hate everyone with a burning passion, especially Josef. She seemed to tolerate Wynter though, maybe they had befriended each other or something like that?

Nifty, the tiefling who looked like she was on crack 24/7, was weird. She looked like she was twelve, and acted like it too. What business did a tielfing child have here? Hellspawn were born in the deepest parts of hell, so why was this one so bubbly and... not evil?

Last but not least, there was that demon lord, Josef. Altair didn't get himself into fights with someone he could never win a battle with, but this guy was... irritating. He looked completely batshit, like most souls down in hell.

So.. ten. There were ten souls in this hotel including himself.

"Uh, I don't have anything else."

Wynter

Wynter frowned a little, getting slightly antsy in her seat. She wanted to nap or whatever, but also go DO something besides listen to Kisa try to teach demons how to reverse their sins. She either wanted to go sleep in her room, or go back to the gardens or whatever, hardly anyone went there besides herself.

"Some people cry or get emotional I guess." Maybe if she offered more things, Kisa would be satisfied and happy or whatever, maybe not drag on too long about it. Plus, wrath was her second biggest sin, and her least favorite. Being humble was... not a strong point of hers.

Thorival Reseria

"Allow me to speak please."

With a few lengthy strides, the redeemed angel walks up to the front of the class and stands front and center, his gaze serious and unfaltering.

"I understand that we are putting examples of what our responses to wrath is, but I would like to point out that there are morally right responses and morally wrong responses and morally gray responses. My brother did a morally gray/wrong response. I just did a gray response. I believe that what I am going to say is going to tie into the next step of this seminar."

Thorival nods to Kisa as if he expected her to lead into the next step.

"You can always internalize it, which isn't healthy but it saves anyone being affected by the response. Or you can try to correct the situation that caused you to feel wrath. Wrath is indeed a sin, but everyone experiences it. It's not strictly forbidden but, practicing it too much will lead to a burdened soul."

Thorival takes his right hand and places it upon his heart.

"That is why in response to said sin, you have to think of a virtue to replace that act of sin to counter it. Being righteous is checks and balances. Patience is the correct virtue to practice in response to sin. Being patient with the situation that caused you to feel wrath. Not responding and just walking away."

The paladin smiles.

"That is my take anyway. Anyone else can have their time now."

Kisa

Kisa nodded her head at Wynter in agreement. "Oh yes, I knew I was forgetting something, thank you Wynter." She when wrote on the board as the last tick:

♦ Cry / Get Emotional

So now the far left side of the board read:

Wrath:
♦ Innocent people being attacked
♦ Pointless Suffering
♦ When people don't listen
♦ When someone takes advantage
♦ When people hold power over someone
♦ Flaunting power
♦ When space is violated
♦ When people tell me "what I am"
♦ When people don't "learn their place"
♦ When people pick on me
♦ When people say mean things to me
♦ Slavery
♦ Being apart of the "system"
♦ People breaking rules
♦ Unjust behavior
♦ People who think they're entitled
♦ People who have a nice life and take it for granted
♦ Being told how to act or what to do
♦ People who don't respect me
♦ People who don't acknowledge me

The middle area read:

Reaction:
♦ Yell at them
♦ Call them names
♦ Get Physical/Violent
♦ Scream
♦ Cuss
♦ Torture
♦ Self Harm
♦ Cry / Get Emotional

The pastel angel smiled warmly at Thorival, "Yes, Thorival, I completely agree.... and that's what leads me to the last area of the board.

Now Kisa moved to the right side of the board and wrote "Response:" at the top in bold letters, and then looked back to the "class" of demons and angels.

"Th-There's Reaction and Response.

So the feeling we get is anger. The reaction your gut instinct, like... an animal drive, basically. So when you get angry, and lash out, you're going off your animal instinct. When we feel threatened in some way, which makes us especially angry as a survival drive, our gut tells us to fight or flight. When we listen to this reaction and get violent and aggressive, we tend to commit sin. That's why Wrath is considered a Deadly Sin, because it's so easy to give into and do the wrong thing. I-I would have to say it's probably the most common sin, but it's also the most well understood because everyone feels angry sometimes. It's an important emotion, after all. But there's different ways to act on it. A reaction typically provokes more reactions, perpetuating a long chain of hatefulness with nothing accomplished. Reaction just instigates."

Kisa paused, hoping this was making sense, she honestly had never taught a "class" before, so this felt really uncomfortable, but she was trying her best.

"The alternative way is a Response. A response is a well thought out decision, and in most cases it's non-threatening. When we feel angry, instead of listening to our temptation to give into a gut reaction, we could instead take a moment to process the situation."

She felt a tiny bit guilty for talking about Demitrious when he wasn't here to listen, but it was too convenient to use this situation that had just happened, it would make things super easy to understand for this discussion.

"F-For example, Nifty laughed and Demitrious and mispronounced his name. He got angry. His gut reaction was to lash out by yelling and screaming, and swearing." As Kisa spoke she pointed over at the things that made the class feel wrath, and then moved to the reactions and pointed at "yelling", "swearing", etc, as she spoke. "He gave into his gut reaction. H-However..." She looked towards Nifty, "I-If he had just taken a moment, taken a breath, and thought about it... he could choose to calm himself, and be understanding, and realize that Nifty didn't intend it to be a mean comment. She wasn't trying to provoke him or insult him on purpose. If he was still offended, he could politely pull Nifty aside and let her know that was upsetting to him, and to please not do it again. This kind of response leads to a resolution, instead of just an endless circle of fighting.

A-And so if we go through life always instantly giving in to gut reactions, instead of trying to resolve something, all we do is feed that circle of hate. It's perfectly okay and normal to feel anger, what makes it a sin or not is our reactions and responses to it."

Kisa fidgetted a little, hoping that she was wording it in an understandable way for the demons.

"D-Does that make sense?"

Prism

Prism listened quietly to Kisa explaining the sin of wrath to the demons, calming down a little after Josef's... explanation of his reaction to feeling wrath. It still baffled her how someone could do that to another person without a bit of guilt.

Kisa seemed to be doing REALLY well at explaining it, or at least she thought so! She hoped the demons in the room could try to understand if they didn't already, she knew Demitrious needed some work, and at one point they'd have to drag him in here so he could get the same talk everyone else was getting, or else it wouldn't help him...

Wynter gave a short nod at Kisa, at least getting the gist of what she was saying. It was actually pretty simple, but easier said than done. Still, the thought of being polite to someone who purposely ticked her off was a bit annoying. Like, come on, why should she basically suck up to someone who wronged her? It was kinda... pathetic. Or at least that's what she thought it was. Sometimes she could keep her wrath under control if it meant she would either gain something she wanted, or to save her a**.

Altair also nodded. It made sense, but when it came to certain things he just can't think and goes straight to being full of rage. Like his axe, when Thorival merely put a hand on it, it set him off immediately. How were they supposed to fix that instinct? Practice? He really hoped not.

Josef

Not giving a care, he leans back on his chair and just yawns.

"Yeah yeah yeah. What is the next lesson? I am dying of boredom here."

After tossing his pencil in the air and leaning back further and further, he pretends to let it go to far and just tumbles onto the floor,

"Ow."

After exclaiming that, he stands up and begins walking towards the door.

"Is it Physical education yet? I really want to spar and this academic crap is really irritating the piss out of me sooo I need to blow off some steam."

Kisa fidgeted a bit more, trying not to be nervous but she wasn't used to having to lead a class. And it seemed most were paying attention, which was a little surprising after how distruptful the other "classes" had been prior to this one. She had been worried the demons wouldn't want to hear it or just not pay attention. Or complain.

And then someone finally did, and not to anyone's surprise it was Josef.

"U-Umn... Well... W-We don't do any kind of formal physical education, but Thorival is always available after class to teach different things like stretching and warming up... a-and light sparring. But no one is required to go to the gym if they don't want to."

Kisa capped the marker and set it on the whiteboard tray.

"W-We can leave off here for today. Everyone--please enjoy the rest of your day! Let us know if you need anything!"

After some people had left, she walked over to Alstair putting on her best friendly smile.

"Would you like me to give you a tour of the mansion? I also have a key for your room for you to stay in."

Altair (Wraith)

Altair sighed in slight relief as Kisa wrapped up the lesson of the sin of wrath. He wasn't used to sitting still for so long, if not ever. He was always doing something, always moving. Unless you were best of the best down here, staying still would kill you.

He stood up and stretched, yawning a little. He glanced at Josef, and despite not liking him too much, he kinda had to agree. It was boring as ******** in here.

The masked demon strapped the axe on his back once more, already feeling a bit more relieved he had his weapon right there when he needed it. Yeah, it was a bit dangerous to have such an attachment to an object like he did, but he couldn't help it anymore. He had to cling to that sliver of power he had, no matter what. People thought twice before attacking someone with a weapon, and he could defend himself against pretty much everyone. It made him feel safe.

Altair turned to Kisa as she approached him with that friendly smile of hers. He decided she wasn't much of a threat, so he agreed.

"That sounds super nice, thank you Kisa." His tone of voice was already back to his usual upbeat one, traces of his dark tone earlier pretty much gone. He was kinda excited to have a room to himself, and have access to whatever else was around the hotel.

Wynter

Wynter was up and out of her chair as soon as Kisa dismissed them. Thank ******** god it was over for today! It was KILLING her to be stuck in a room full of assholes and angels.

She knew if she went to her room she'd pop open that bottle in a matter of minutes, so she just went to the gardens again. It was calm and quiet and kinda nice to loon at. Josef would leave her the ******** alone and go spar or whatever, Nifty would probably follow, that masked kid didn't concern her, and the angels would be busy babysitting them all, but not her. Nope. She got to have some quiet time.

Wynter smiled a little bit as she walked around the gardens, just aimlessly wandering for as long as she could.

Prism

Prism closes her notebook, stretching her arms as she stood up. She thought today was going pretty well! No one had gotten in a physical fight yet, and they half payed attention during Kisa's lesson! Demitrious was still pretty angry, but she was sure he'd come around at one point!

She looked over to Kisa offering to show Wraith around, and was a bit relieved to see that the masked demon didn't have that dark aura like before. His moods seemed to change so rapidly from angry to cheerful, but she still wasn't sure about letting Kisa go with him alone... At the same time, what would Prism be able to do if Wraith did get aggressive?

"Um... Miss Kisa? Would you mind if I tagged along?"

Demitrious Von Varibon Reseria

After spending a good few hours in his logdings brooding, he leaves his sanctuary and makes his way down to the main area where everyone else is at.

With his hands in his pockets, he makes his way to Kisa and just stands there for a bit. Yawning.

After a few moments when she asks if he needs anything, he opens his mouth.

"Soooo you are just going to sit there and let a class bully me like that? What kind of redemption seminar is this if you allow others to bully other... patients? We are patients aren't we? Apart of a system to 'cleanse' us of our sins correct?"

With a frown, he breathes heavily through his nose and he wipes it.

"If you want this program to be successful, you are going to have to find ways to make everyone welcome here, instead of being strict. Being strict will solidify in most others minds that they are nonredeemable."

"Yeah, no problem!" Kisa squeaked out, and then Prism approached them. "Of course I wouldn't mind, thank you for your help." She didn't really need Prism to help per-say, but she really didn't like the idea of going anywhere alone with a demon. Thank goodness Prism noticed, she could always count on her!

Once the duo finished showing Wraith all of the different places within the mansion, she then took him to his room, and gave him the key, right after telling him the rules, especially the one about no drugs, or alcohol.

Kisa then reminded herself, Oh, I should check on Wynter and see how she's holding up. Hopefully the medication is helping her. But before she could go and hunt her down, Demitrious accosted her and stood around as if he was waiting to speak with her.

"C-Can I help you, Demitrious?" She asked, and then blinked a few times as he spoke. Bully him? Wait.... he felt bullied?! She was so confused....

"O-Oh... U-Umn... I-I'm sorry, I had no idea you felt that way... I apologize if the class made you feel uncomfortable." She fidgeted a little, getting nervous. "I can't really punish anyone since it was only Nifty, but I'll speak to her again. We did go over the situation a bit during class though, I-I could give you a repeat lesson if you like." Kisa said, tucking some loose pastel hair behind her elf ear. "Would you like to talk to Nifty with me, and s-see if we can resolve this?"

Demitrious Von Varibon Reseria

"Then lets go speak to Nifty. I really dislike how she was saying all those hurtful mean things to me."

His gaze then goes down to Prism.

"I will also want to speak with Wynter about how her bullying is making me feel very unwelcome here. I think we all need to establish ground rules on how to conduct ourselves in the face of others and not hurting each other's feelings."

Demitrious straightens his postures.

"I am really disappointed with how this is going for me so far. If there was a rating app I would rate this place poorly."

Altair (Wraith)

Altair looked Demitrious up and down, listening to him go on about Nifty mispronouncing his name. What a drama king. Literally this would be no problem if the guy could just let go of something as small as that. He needed to man up...

"Well, Kisa this might be educational, right? So I should come too. Might help me manage my feelings of wrath. If that's okay of course with mister Demitrious."

Yeah, I think this will go real well. Might get a kick out of watching them make that silver eyed demon listen to him express his feelings. She seemed rather annoyed by him.

Prism

Prism looked to Kisa before looking back to Demitrious. He was being... sort of polite. His last words weren't super nice but he was stating them calmly at the very least.

"I'm sorry to hear that... Um, I think that sounds like a nice idea, right Miss Kisa?"
The neko flattened her ears a little. Nifty would probably be pretty easy, but Wynter was probably going to get angry as usual. Not that it made her think doing this was wrong, it was just... fixing one problem always caused another around this place.

Kisa nodded at Prism.

"Okay."

Nifty would probably apologize... hopefully she wouldn't laugh again. She really didn't see the big deal since Nifty was basically a child (even after hearing about her awful sins), so she couldn't understand why it was such a big deal to Demitrious. But, since he had to say he was sorry to Prism, she supposed she would have to humor the prince. She didn't think he was being bullied, but if he really felt that way she should at least see if Nifty and Wynter would say sorry.

"I-I'm sorry you feel unwelcome here..." Kisa honestly felt guilty about that, even if he had ridiculous standards and was technically provoking the rude comments with how flashy and braggy he was. "I-I think it will calm down and we'll get along just fine... everyone just met and is getting used to each other. I hope you can wait it out and give them a chance..."

She looked at Altair, trying to hide the nervous look on her face, because she was really dreading having to have Demitrious and Wynter talk... it probably wasn't going to go very well...

"Sh.. Sure, Wraith, please do." With that, Kisa headed off to find Nifty. Once she finally did, she spoke,

"Hey Nifty, could you come here a second?" As soon as she did, she knelt down a bit to be more on Nifty's height level. "So, Mister Demitrious would like to talk to you, his feelings are hurt over what happened during this morning's class." She then looked to Demitrious, giving him the chance to explain himself.

Demitrious Von Varibon Reseria

Demitrious followed the angels to where Nifty was at. As soon as they reach her, dread fills his body as he just feels sick to the stomach when he sees her form.

"Ugh...."

This vile wench is just.... so fruity.... so energetic and just...... a loose cannon. I hate her already. She has this nasty bratty air around her that just irritates the snot out of me...

With his hands on his hips, he just stands there waiting for the whirlwind that is Nifty speaking to say sorry to her all time former lord. She should be glad she has the chance to even apologize to the fallen prince! Not very many people get this golden oppurtunity.

"Sooo...."

He turns to look at Wraith.

"What are you here for and what is with that.... emo get up? Trick or Treating or something? Maybe going to a convention? Should lose the attitude kid."
PostPosted: Fri Jan 17, 2020 11:14 pm

Altair (Wraith)

Altair cheerfully followed along, looking all around the halls as he did so. This place was still sooo nice. It had a nice light aura too, it wasn't defeating or filthy or anything. His gaze turned to Nifty, tilting his head just a little at her. He didn't really like demons like her too much, clingy and loud and just.. obnoxious... But at the same time, she was a child, right? So, he didn't mind too much, as long as she left him alone.

As soon as Demitrious started talking to him, he listened quietly and paid attention to him. He frowned a little under is mask. Who was he to talk about losing attitude? And... Emo get up..? Why he ought to-

"Keeps my identity safe and all. Business tends to get mixed up in personal life a lot. So no, not for trick or treating sadly. Like I said, I wanna know if redemption is possible, plus all you demons are growing... boring. And... I don't believe I should be lectured on attitude by someone who stormed out of class a little while ago. Just saying." The corner of his mouth twitched a little after he was done replying to the prince, growing a little annoyed again. Why was everyone being such asses? He had literally said nothing to this.. prince and he was being insulted, and for what?

Prism followed as well, smiling a little when she saw Nifty. Hopefully this part would all go well, she didn't think Nifty would be difficult about it.

And then her smiled disappeared when Demitrious talked to Wraith. Why... Why did he even have to say that..? It was like he was begging for an argument with everyone... She bit her lip as Wraith answered him, at least a little relieved he wasn't blowing up... But he wasn't be very nice either.

"Um... I'm sure Mister Demitrious meant no harm, let's just try to get along, alright..?" Prism smiled nervously at the both of them, praying they would not just start a whole other issue.

Kisa
The Beacon of Light

Kisa was trying not to sweat it, but she could swear it was almost like Demitrious was trying to provoke people. She didn't like thinking negative about someone, but some of the things that came out of his mouth was.... just plain rude. She could see why it set off other demons. But she tried her best not to say anything, because she had come to the conclusion that he must have just been unable to learn many social skills. Being a spoiled prince, he was probably used to being able to speak to his servants rudely like that. But in the real world, where people aren't enslaved or paid to put up with that s**t, then of course they would have angry reactions, or laugh at him. So while she felt bad, she also knew he was provoking everyone to dislike him, at the same time... she couldn't blame them for taking offense to his.... boasting. His sin was definitely the Sin of Pride.

He wasn't telling Nifty himself, so she would try to explain.

"S-So, Nifty, when you laughed at his name and repeated it in a funny way, you hurt Demitrious' feelings... do you think you could apologize, and try not to do that again? Please?"

Nifty instantly started giggling. Wait, WHAT? He was actually still mad about that? Is that why he got so angry and exploded earlier in class? Because she messed up his name? That was just silly, she couldn't stop herself from laughing about that!

"Hee hee~ Okaaaay. I'm sorry Demi-chan!"
