Remus could tell that Ella was a taken by surprise by his sudden decision. Her shoulders were stiff and after he pulled her into his embrace she was like a statue. A little softer than a statue admittedly but her muscles were all tensed up and she wasn't moving. He couldn't even hear her breath at all. The seconds ticked by like that but he didn't let her go. He had committed to this action and his resolve was certain of the correctness of his decision. Ella needed this hug, she needed this comforting action. All he could really question would be if she would of preferred to receive it from someone else or if he was acceptable. Eventually the she started to breath again. A long sigh marking it along side a noticeable relaxing of her body. Remus pulled her in tighter as he felt her starting to push into his chest as her body relaxed. She was crying so he used his right hand to stroke her hair as it rested against her back. He could feel the heat and moisture from her tears as they soaked through his shirt. He didn't say anything more to comfort her. Just kept stroking her reassuringly and made sure not to actually look down. He let her collect herself in peace and hide away the sight of her crying.
Once she seemed to have gotten over it he let her go. He noticed the pictures where still in the book after Ella had taken it from him. They were peeking out from between the pages. He considered taking them out but decided against it. He had no reason to hid them. They were photo's of his family and there was one in there of Ella, though it was not just of her. That photo in particular included everyone from Team HARE so Ella likely wouldn't think anything of it. Besides perhaps to piece together that those in the pictures were important to him at some level and the pages that held the small collection of photos also held some importance to him that was worthy of him making an effort to make sure he could quickly access the wisdom written there. At least Ella was smiling again. A real smile, not one she was putting on for show. Remus threw up his hands and waved them slowly back and forth as he returned her smile. "Oh, you don't need to do that. Take your time, enjoy it. Book long to be read after all. It's a bit sad when they just sit and gather dust." He commented. Just by looking down at it Ella could tell that this book had never been forgotten so long as to gather dust in some corner. It was well kept but it showed both care in how it is kept and also a good amount of use by a reader.
'Cute...' The thought flitted through Remus's mind as Ella processed the question he had asked her. Her face flushed to a very bright shade of pink, and while her face showed surprised it didn't reach her eyes. They were glowing like a fire ruby with a starburst cut. Remus felt an intense desire to fidget which receded when Ella seemed to catch herself before it became a full blown stare. Now it was his turn to be a bit surprised. He softly laughed it off. "That would be a tad hypocritical of me given I had just vowed to punch out someone's lights for you if they tried to mock you for it. So what do you say?" He asked once more. He wasn't entirely sure what was inspiring her to laugh since he had taken her reply so seriously. There was a little more waiting to be done before she seemed to realize he was seriously waiting for her reply still. Then he heard what he was after. It was a mutter as quiet as silk was soft. She coughed to clear her throat and provide strength to her voice as she repeated her answer. "Great. We'll have to make full use of it then." He declared while showing off another bright smile.
Remus was about to move off to check on what his summons were doing when Ella spoke to him once more. He turned his head to look down at into her eyes. What she said seemed like she was putting him out of her reach to him. Though it might just be because she thinks highly of him. He scratched his chin with his finger for a second, the comment and gentle smile making him blush ever so slightly, before admitting that her expectation was off the mark. "You're welcome, and thanks for agreeing to accompany me as well. Honestly speaking no girls had asked me to go with them as of yet. Frankly, I never really hung out with others. The school had me in solo classes up until Team HARE was formed. So I think our time on the beach was probably the most time I had actually spent talking with a girl at this school. Either way I guess if there were any out there they were too slow. They lost out to you now..." He explained. While he was wrapping up what he had been saying the briers opened up and the rest of the team returned.
The wolf that had been escorting them padded in ahead of them and then seemingly strode through a gap between worlds. It's body faded away until it lost a clearly recognizable form and then it was gone like mist as the sun's rays burn it away. There were a few yips of greeting coming in to Chloris and Henryk from the fox party in the fire pit. They had progressed to a point that the pit bed was done and the pit walls were lines in stones, the edge also had a low built crescent shaped wall that was just missing a grate or skewer for cooking purposes. Remus turned his head quickly to the source of Chloris's voice. When he saw her she was already studying them with her head just barely noticeably leaning towards her left shoulder. 'At least they didn't get back while I was holding her.' He thought to himself as he resisted giving off any outward sign that Chloris might pick up on. "Welcome back you guys. Did you bring us back a good haul?" He asked Chloris as he lowered his eyes to the basket she was carrying.
Feralis was still upset he had been assigned to this team of all teams. First he has to find it out after one of the members tried to kill him, and then he had accidentally told Princess that he owed her a favor. Having seen the look on her face, even if she had not collected on it in the last two weeks, was enough to make him worry. 'Why hasn't she used it already? What is she saving it for!' He would worry to himself every now and then when he was in her company. It didn't help with how much attention and how touchy she seemed to be with him. It sent shivers through his spine sometimes, not that he would ever admit it. He shook his head at the thought, remembering the courier who was supposed to deliver the message to him coming right after he had read it from their scroll...And he growled as he remembered what the messenger had brought. It looked, for all intents and purposes, like a dog tag...In reality it was a very tiny scroll that could project the actual interface of it. It had been attached to his favorite, and thus only, choker and as much as he tried he couldn't remove it. On the bright side, he could ignore. All it did was flash a very soft blue and vibrate slightly if he had any messages. He still hated it, didn't want to rely on technology or anything he couldn't understand. He liked relying on his self and not being at risk of something else failing. But...loathe as he was to admit it, it was useful. The bright side to it all was that he learned how to silence it completely...and it had a tracking chip so if he ever transformed he could be found. Though he was shown where it is...and knew how to remove it...he left it there for now. He wanted to be stronger for his pack.
Which brought him back to where he currently was. In the outskirts under the blood moon, Feralis had found his pack. He knew the ball was mandatory, that he had to go, but he missed his pack enough to visit it. He had learned through his years with the pack that the blood moon was usually a safe time to go out here, Grimm tended not to attack on these nights, and even if they did he still would've gone. Laying in his old den, his pack all around the cave...He was sad that he would have to leave them again soon enough. If the ball hadn't been mandatory he would not have done so, he would've just spent the night with his pack. Already he could see life here beginning to adapt without him quickly. The pups from just two weeks ago were already growing quickly, and the other alphas had taken over to compensate for his leaving. He had brought a gift nonetheless, a deer, before he came...but he just wished he could do more for them. Shaking the thoughts from his head, he noticed one of the pups nearing him again. Sniffing the scent, he could just recognize it as the loud pup from before. It wasn't as weary as the first time as Feralis reached out a hand to it and lightly stroked its head. 'At least this litter should be used to me.' He thought to himself with a sigh. Now for what he has actually planned...He had come here fully equipped with all his weapons. He didn't trust the cats for a second...so given that weapons weren't allowed, which he could not understand why, he was going to stash them here.
Reaching over to his small crevice...He would put his axe in first, as far in as he could. Next would be his crossbow, careful to wedge a little up so it wouldn't be crushed of anything. Last were his vambraces and armored boots...His favorite weapons by far. Alongside his fearless leader of old, he had fought all types of Grimm or students with them. Even the occasional feline. Well, especially the occasional feline as he remembered the white lion. Slowly and gingerly he placed them into the crevice as well, sealing the entrance with a few well placed rocks to hide it from the casual looter. His pack didn't seem intent to move anytime, but you never knew what manner of scavenger may try their hands at a robbery. With that all done...He would pet the wolf pup one last time before he would head back to beacon for the ball...a little sad the fight rule was put in place as he could use a good one to liven up his mood. He was heading straight for the ball, not needing to make any detour or anything at this point...and to make sure he didn't get second thoughts just to forego it entirely.
Henryk was going to be late...but that hardly mattered at this point. He had been hit by sudden inspiration at last minute and had slipped out unbeknownst to anyone else, purposely traveling to his destination in as confusing a way as possible to deter any followers. He was pretty sure they may want to kill him when he eventually arrived at the ball but...he felt this was worth the risk. 'When hit by inspiration...you must act. If not someone else will do it first, and then you'll be unoriginal.' He thought to himself with a slight smile. He sincerely hoped it was worth it though...as he was taking a risk in more ways than one for this. Not only was he probably not going to be able to arrive with Chloris, which was probably what he was supposed to do for this type of thing...but in order to actually follow through with his inspiration, he had to go to the outskirts. Which left him nervous as well because one: he was going alone so who knows what Grimm could be around and two...its a god forsaken forest!!! He was still on edge in forests, maybe even close to fear of them. He was alright when with his team or in the safety of his base...but he had none of that now.
Taking a deep breath as he traversed the dark woods, the night lit by a blood moon...sending another shiver through him at the thought of how much of a horror movie this was, he willed himself on. If he remembered right, what he was looking for was on the way to the base...so while a decent ways out he was at least a little familiar with the path. Though with the darkness of night all around him, the forest almost felt like an entirely different one that had the intent of ending his existence. 'Ahhh! Why did I have to have this insight at night...' He worried to himself, unaware that he was mostly safe from Grimm. Hearing the howl of a wolf made him jump, freezing in place after as he held his breath despite how far off it sounded. After a minute or two his heart no longer felt like it was about to burst from his chest and he decided it would probably be better for him to move then spend all night as a statue. Thankfully there were no more howls on his journey.
Finally, after what felt like forever, he found the first of his needed materials. Carefully taking it from its place beside a tree, he would carefully stash it into a small bag he brought with him. Careful so he did not break it. And once he found the one, he was soon finding more and more of what he actually needed now until he finally got almost all the material. The last one was a bit trickier to find, having never done something like this before but having read up about it on his scroll. Which he did not look at as he imagined it may have a thousand messages or something on it at this point...though he had used it earlier to tell Ora he would meet her at some point during the ball. Carefully taking out a small knife he brought with him, he cut and stabbed at a very thick shell blocking him from what he needed...until finally he got the liquid he needed to flow out. Taking out a small flask, he would fill it up before covering up and sealing the hole again. All material collected he smiled happily...before hearing another howl and running for his life back to beacon.

Angered still by the emotionally retarded shark faunus, the tigress faunus had stormed out into the light of the blood moon."How could she possibly think I would...Ugh! How can she be so infuriating?!"She sighed softly before walking into the forest for the night.."I miss you guys,"She said softly after pulling out her scroll and finding a picture of her siblings. The young woman then slipped her scroll back into her purse, secured it."Okay, time to let off some steam,"She told herself. Smirking slightly, she took off in a run through the Forever fall forest, preparing for anything that might enter her perception.

Wandering through the wastelands of what once was brought an odd peace, a chance to reminisce. Thinking back Sinn remembered his few times in Vale, that night 15 odd years ago; the screams, the blood, the smell. Now surrounded by peace and calm, the birds chirping in the woods forming a beautiful melody. The sun was begging to dip over the horizon casting a gorgeous tapestry of reds, oranges and yellows across the sky. The smell of forest dew spread throughout the air filling his lungs with every breath. Every step he took leading him towards the end of his long-worked goal, the things he’d done to reach this point, the people he had to leave behind, the parts of his soul he had to kill.
His eyes finally settled onto Vale, far off in the distance. Taking a deep breath, he crouched down by a tree. Slowly he’d look up, observing the branches, the texture of the wood, the overall shape of the trunk. Then in a single bound his foot landed on the sturdiest branch near the top. He was beginning to feel tired at this point, trudging his way into the city now would be amusing but a misuse of his time. He had yet to meet with the tribe, the riffraff of the streets, the homeless, his network had to be rebuilt each time, that was the only fun part of all this. The ball. A good opportunity to send a message, but if my gut tells me anything the tribe acted too early. Security is probably on a level that can’t be maintained for long… Perfect.
First thing on his agenda was to enter the city, then whoever caught his eye would lead him where he would need to go. The tribe or someone else? He had no way of knowing but an escape should be prepared regardless. Placing a hand over one eye he gave it a gentle rub. Let’s not play my hand too early, it’s about coming to that time… I shouldn’t be excited about this. Yet a smile had spread across his face. His feet felt numb, yet they would be forced to bear his weight for a while longer, resting in the wilderness this close to civilisation was suicide. Stretching he’d stand upright on the tree. At first, nothing changed, then a crack could be heard. Before long the entire tree was falling to the ground, taking a single step forward he found the ground and made his way from the destruction behind him towards the city of Vale.

Miya was enjoying a run through the forest, letting the moon wash its light over her, the cool wind soothing her fiery anger. Her hotheadedness waning the further she ran, she would skid to a halt as she would look around."What is that?"She thought, icy-blue eyes glaring toward where she thought she heard the sound of a tree falling."Is anyone there,"Tsuki asked standing in the shadow of one tree, tail swaying slowly in caution. Her ears laid back slightly, uncertain of this person she saw walking off the fallen tree. Though she was not actively hiding, she would wait for his reply. It was another giant...was everyone a giant here?

The moon had risen and the breeze was ever so slight. Slowly walking forward eyes would fallen on a faunus, still dress for an event of some kind, either that or someone who enjoyed the ostentatious. So the first to meet him wasn't the tribe, well that was surprising. Had they managed to contain themselves long enough to strike at the ball? Is that why this faunus was out here, to find the culprit? Unnlikely. Despite being hard to miss she still questioned if he was there, someone searching for a culprit would strike first. I'm here young cub, you have nothing to fear. He hadn't slowed down once after stepping of the falen tree, slowly walking towards the faunus he showed no signs of ill intentions or even that of caution. But was that more worrying? Tell me young cub. Why leave the ball? A question for a question, a fair deal if any, although this question was better at pulling information. A brief insight to the situation in Vale, a timeframe and a reason.

Miya glowered slightly at the man that walked into view."Cub?..."She raised a slight eyebrow, looking him up and down. Silently noting he was armed, she would absently look to the moon before her icy-blue eyes rested on the stranger's face. He was much older than herself, she noted silently, but not in a bad way. When he asked about the ball, the young faunus's tail twitched in slight agitation at the thought of what happened earlier. She also wondered if he was part of the school staff...he definitely was no local she knew of."I am not afraid,"Tsuki replied."As for the ball...I wanted fresh air without being crowded,"Tsuki replied, which was truthful enough. Tail still swaying slightly from side to side, she would tilt her head ever-so-slightly as she looked to him curiously."So, what are you doing in the forest this night,"the young tigress faunus would inquire, not feeling threatened...yet.

Forward, forward, ever forward. He wouldn't slow or show signs of stopping. The young cub before him was on full alert, chances she had noticed he was armed. Though this wasn't something uncommon, he was a trained huntsman. The cub had a a look about her, a child-like innocence that had been discoloured by the harsh reality of the world. Yes, she was indeed a student of that place. A child soldier, one of many, just another cog in the eternal machine, yet to her, she was the centre of the story.
Her tail twitched at his question, but she chose to say she wasn't afraid. Why hide? 50 feet between them. The cub continued to give half truths. If they were lies he would gain no information, so he chose to assume there was some truth in what she said. 40 feet left. Enjoying my walk. Although it may be finished now. 30 feet. His eyes, while still locked on her, were no longer looking at her but rather looking through her. Pets? Team mates? Teachers? She was all alone far from any ears, his fallen tree had confirmed that much. Is your date not going to get lonely without you?

Miya kept her attention on the older faunus and huntsman as he continued toward her, ever closer. Icy-blue eyes watched him as he did. Her tail swaying slowly; nervous."What is he up to?"Her expression seemed to read. Though she was a student, she was still getting used to the school."I'm not hiding..."Tsuki replied slightly defiant. Thinking about it, she was in shadow at this moment, so it made sense. With a shrug, she would cautiously walk into the red light of the moon. Her eyes never leaving the approaching giant.
He was almost forty feet at the moment as he answered her question."Well, it's a beautiful night for one,"The tigress commented absently. Thirty feet now, she noted silently, he had a very long stride; as most tall people did. Her eyes watched him intently; alert, but without intention to harm."Why would that be,"the young faunus inquired, uncertain of the man's intentions, but wanting to trust he would be civil for now."Date?...I went...that's none of your business,"She was a bit flustered as he would seem to look not just At her, but Through her. She felt very much alone, and that only agitated her, but she would not act on it. She would take a small step back subconsciously when he was almost fifteen feet from her.

There was little space between them now. He could stop her in her tracks if he wanted, but there was no need. She was catious of him, or so her face seemed to suggest. Smart. Eventually she would step out from the shadows, pale eyes watched him as he moved closer. A small bitmark could be seen on her lower hip, while her dress sparkled in the moonlight. She was unarmed, as far as he could tell. So no weapons at the ball. Was she confident in her combat abilities or did she truley trust this man?
She attempted to make small talk, not a bad move. She wouldn't stop watching him, as he wouldn't stop watching her; neither with the intention to harm, or so each would assume. She had fallen for his trap, her question this round had been wasted. It truley is a wonderful night. You missed the most amazing sunset. His eyes finally looked away, as he purposly turned his head towards where it had set; all that was there now was darkness. Facing back his face held a slight smile. Most travelers of the night hold bad intentions. That was his simple answer.
She became flustered at his question, chances are she went alone, either that or she was abandoned by her date. The years to fool around. He remembered them well, memories were all he had left. At fifteen feet she took a step back; whether on purpose or subconcious he couldn't tell. So this is your range. He considered stoping at this point, only for a brief moment. Forward he went, however close she would allow. What was your plan if Grimm were to attack you? He asked with a concerned look, a truthful look although she wouldn't know it. If she didn't attempt to stop him or move back, he would walk right past her, never stopping as he headed towards vale.

Miya looked to him suspiciously as he came ever closer, flexing her sharp nailed fingers as she did. Stubbornly standing, though if she needed to, she would run."What is this man plotting?"Her icy-blue eyes followed him quietly, unlike most that would attack first, she would not feel the need to attack him first. She would trust him not to attack her for now though.
Meeting his golden eyes every now and then, she could not help herself from thinking he was easy on the eyes, for an old guy."I regret to not seeing it, maybe next time."Tsuki replied casually, though figured there would be a next time. Her gaze would follow his as his attention turned from her toward where the sun had set before looking back at her. Her ears twitched slightly as he smiled ever-so-slightly, curious as to why before shrugging slightly at his comment."I see. Most yes, but not all,"The tigress agreed before she was flustered by his question about dates.
She had not really planned on a date, so going alone was not the issue, really. Her icy-blue eyes watched him still as he seemed to continue.","the young faunus. His question was a logical one, so she would answer without hesitation."I have my ways to defend myself, maybe get away. So, I am not worried,"She answered matter-of-factually. The young faunus may have seemed cocky or over-confident, but she was more-so not afraid of taking a risk. Her tail swaying slowly, she did not attempt to stop him, quite the contrary as he would pass her. Her icy-blue eyes ever curious as she would slowly turn and, without really thinking about it, would begin to follow him at a distance. She had become intrigued with the giant."Will we meet again?"The young woman asked, hoping so, but she also remembered that some people you only meet once.

As he walked, nothing of interest was on his mind. He had no ulterior motives or even worry about this faunus. If the cub attacked, he wouldn’t hesitate to respond accordingly. For now, she was no threat, nor a thing worth mentioning. That’s good to hear. To many aspiring hunters die at such a young age… With things seeming ever bleaker, good hunters are needed now more than ever. He responded as he passed her. Confident… Perfect. He began to think to the cub’s potential future as she followed.
Eventually she broke the silence with a reasonable question. Turning almost a moment before the question was finished being verbalised he would walk towards her. Finally reaching her he would move his head close to hers, staring deep into her icy-blue eyes. After a few seconds he stood back up and laughed. In Vacuo we have a saying: “If you stare into someone’s eyes long enough, you may see your next encounter.” Or something like that. He turned and began to walk away but stopped after a few steps. Why would you want to see an old man like myself again? With that he continued on his way. I saw a forest and Grimm, make of that what you will.

Miya would nod slightly at his retort to her answer. Her eyes would quietly follow him as he'd pass her."He is a strange one, but seems wise,"Her thoughts came to her unbidden."Well, why fight when I don't have to. Besides, have to stay alive if I'm going to become a good huntress,"she would respond. Well, now he was just leaving, and she wanted to know, so she asked.
As he had passed her, she would slowly turn around, icy-blue eyes following him as he did, though she did not miss his turning as she asked. Slightly surprised though by his stride towards her. Her ears laid back ever-so-slightly, tail twitched slowly as he was so close. Staring back into the giant's eyes, the young woman waited patiently for a response; she was not afraid, as she probably should be. So, when he stood up and laughed into the silence, she jumped slightly."Huh, weird, but cool,"the young faunus responded, wondering if that were true, but doubting it as he would go back on his way before stopping. To his question, she shrugged slightly."You capture my interest. Until we meet again, be safe old man,"She replied before leaning against a tree. Looking to the moon, she would sigh and head back to Beacon.

The message had been simple: an arranged meeting in the outskirts at a specific time. How the message came about could not be said, only that it had arrived and had lain in wait for the recipient to read. The message was fairly simple, and written in elegant writing. It read as follows:
'Mr. Bekwood, It is my pleasure to have finally come in contact with you. Despite your reputation, it has been hard to track you down as you seem to cover your tracks well. Which, in my line of business, is a good quality to have. I have been keeping tabs on you for quite some time, watching the aftermath of your work. But, you likely do not care about such things and would prefer for me to cut to the chase. I desire to hire you, to put your skills and gifts to use in a more tangible way. You have killed many people and made a name for yourself already; why not add a few more special case ones and be rewarded for performing the tasks? If you find my offer intriguing then I propose a meeting where we can detail what I want you to do and arrange for what form of payment you shall receive. And, if you find yourself inclined to accept, I shall also work out the finer details of the jobs themselves. The meeting place shall be in the outskirts, not far from the mine. Do not worry about a specific meeting point there, we will find you if you choose to meet. The timing shall be tomorrow morning. I feel it is best to do things early, while many people still find themselves bed ridden. The early bird catches the worm, or so the saying goes. And this opportunity shall only be available till then, I prefer clients who are decisive. I do hope you accept my offer, and if you do I look forward to working with you. -M.'
It was a long winded message, but his employer was prone to such fanciful writings when dealing with others. It was a quirk he had with his level of power and influence. And it was why he was here while the man in question was not. It would have been too much of a risk for him to show himself to a mass killer, and as such he had sent his proxy for this meeting. The figure himself did not have much to do till his quarry arrived. Whether things went good or ill, he would have to be the one to deal with it. And he knew the unstable nature of these types of individuals very well. If the man would come merely to decline, he would expect then that the man would try and kill him. To which he had prepared himself, having his crossbow and a few simple weapons at his disposal. Worse came to worse, he knew how to disappear if the situation called for it.
