Flax smiled a bit at the teacher's announcement. Mys Grey was a great teacher, and liked to bring a little bit of fun to the classroom! Plus, it didn't matter either way to the Nixie, as long as he wasn't having a painful time in class.
Sure, Flax had studied for the midterm this time, and boy was he lucky. Normally he liked doodling about the things he read in his biology textbook, but this time he had taken his conscience's advice and actually sat down, taken notes and everything! It had paid off, for sure. When he received the test back, he breathed a huge sigh of relief at his passing grade.

 Anara blinked at her paper when it returned, earning her a stern eye from the new Science teacher. She half groaned to herself, knowing that it meant she'd have to retake the test. She knew she wasn't very good at taking tests, but this was bad, even for her.

Apparently, all she really needed to do was apply herself. When she saw the new score she couldn't help but feel a breath of relief escape. Was she just not paying attention the first time? Well, at the very least the teacher seemed so much more happy with this score than the last. Perhaps she was better at Science than she thought she was.

 Alright, so Science definitely wasn't his best subject. But Akylan wasn't all that worried about the test, he knew he'd pass, he was just that good. When he got back the test score, he just grinned and gave the teacher a wink. They weren't exactly his type, but he couldn't help but smooth things over, that was his nature, after all. He leaned back in his chair, glad that he didn't have to retake the test.. unlike some people. His eyes glanced over at the Geist girl who seemed slightly annoyed with her test score.

FinnleyFinnley grinned as he plopped down in his seat the next day during class. The trip to the beach, the day before, had been so much fun. Having been an orphan, the demon had never had a chance to travel to the beach before. He’d been stuck in an orphanage or at the academy for all his life. As per assignment, he fished out a pen and piece of paper to start writing. My favorite thing about the beach is something that’s very tough to pick. It was such a fun and fantastic day. If I had to choose my favorite part, it was probably building a gigantic sand castle with Jocey. And just getting to play with my friends in general.-------------------------------- JoceyThe next day Jocey felt more tired than usual. She had enjoyed the day at the beach but all the activity was a lot for the little bapho to handle. It’d take another day, at least, to gather back all of her energy. Most of the time she was content to spend time by herself in her shared dorm with Finnley or to do something with Finnley. It wasn’t that she disliked others, it just drained her when she was in large groups with lots of activity. She made her way into class, quietly, and sat down to work on her assignment. The best part about the beach, for me, was swimming. I love the water and I love to swim. I also really enjoyed playing in the sand with my friend Finnley.-------------------------------- ZigariZigari slithered into science class, eyes fixed on their desk. The naga pretty much stayed to themselves after the fight they'd’ been in. So class was a no-nonsense thing. Yesterday, had been relaxing, at least. Zigi began working on the assignment right away. My favorite thing about the beach, yesterday, was being able to lay in the sand. It was so warm under my scales and I got right at the edge where the water came up and let the water wash over my tail. So relaxing and it gave me time to reflect on some things.Geyser Eelborn I hope it's alright I put these three freshlings in one post.

Syra frowned as the test paper was returned to her and the teacher only sighed and shook their head. When she glanced down at the paper, Syra nearly had a heart attack. Failed? She had failed? She hung her head in shame as she silently fussed at and kicked herself.

Syra had been given a second chance but, again, the litch had failed the midterm. Angry, Syra returned to her dorm room and proceeded to rip the test up. She had studied that time. Why hadn’t she passed? When she glanced to the sketches of clothes, strewn about on her desk, Syra realized that she hadn’t studied as much as she could have.

As frustrated as she was, Syra didn’t even try on the third attempt. Science was not something she liked and it was obvious she wasn’t any good at it. She took home another failing grade, throwing it in the trash the moment she stepped foot into her dorm.

 When Odessa heard that the Science class was taking a field trip to watch the stars, she couldn't help but jump at the chance! It had been a long while since she had been able to look at the stars, the Academy was usually too well lit to get a good look, and she had definitely missed it. She grabbed decided to dress in long pants and a long sleeve shirt and brought a couple extra pairs of clothing, along with a jacket, just in case. She even threw in a couple of protein bars, foreseeing that someone might be hungry.
When she got to the softball field, she rubbed her arms, it was slightly cooler than she imagined. She grabbed her jacket and smiled. She half hoped she would see Lazarus tonight, but wasn't all that surprised that he wasn't there. When they finally got to the stargazing, Odessa was happy to see many of the constellations that she never got to see at home. There were a lot more of them than she had ever thought and she got to learn many of their names and their positions in the sky. Overall, she was very happy with the whole assignment and hoped there would be more like that in the future. She thanked the teacher before they headed back to their dorms.

When the test was handed back to Xerxes, he frowned at the score. Lower than he thought it would be. Sighing, he glanced over the paper to see what he had gotten wrong and where he had gone wrong. If he was going to go into alchemy, he needed to get better at science class, that was sure. Still, it was a passing grade and he’d take it without too much fuss.

 Meliae was happy for the new teacher. She had never talked to them much, Science definitely wasn't a subject she was very excited about, but she could imagine how good it was for them to move up in their job. She pulled out an apple and handed it to them as a gift, a small smile on her face before moving to her seat.
Going to the beach wasn't as well received, however. Despite being a Dryad, Meliae wasn't all that happy about the harsh temperatures there were there. She much preferred mild spring days and being among trees and solid ground. That said, it wasn't summer quite yet, so heat wasn't near as bad as she was expecting. All in all, she had a decent time, though she would have better enjoyed a day at the park or singing in a choir. Still, it was nice to do something that she usually wouldn't have done on her own.
She sat down at her desk, looking down at her paper.
"I liked going to a new place. I'm not usually one much for water, or sand, but it was nice to be able to see the waves and look at the different creatures that make their home there. I even got to play in the water a little bit! It was nice and cool compared to the sand. I liked making a sand castle and pretending that a crab that walked by was an intruder!"

 Caron was interested in this test, he had studied as much as he could, and he thought he was ready for it. He hoped he wasn't wrong. Caron smiled brightly as he turned in his test, very confident that he had passed his test.
