Trinity laughed at that before saying, "Good, I didn't want you as my rival." She teased as she finished her meal. The rest of the guys finished too. Trinity got up and walked over to the phones. She waited as it connected to Oak's PC. "Professor? Professor? You there?" she said to the machine. "What pokemon are you going to catch?" Saph asked not knowing if Rex could understand him.

Rex grinned down at the little guy, getting the general gist of what he was asking. "Well, I'm mostly interested in Fossils, but I don't wanna be too picky, so I'll probably settle for being a Rock-type specialist," Rex decided. "I'll probably get a Ground-type to help dig for fossils, but that's about it." Oak appeared on the screen, brightening at the sight of Trinity and Shadow. "Ah, Trinity! How are you?" He greeted them. "And hello to you too, Shadow - you seem considerably more cheerful than before. Now, what can I do for you?" "Actually, it's more what you can do for an aspiring Trainer," Shadow interjected before explaining the gist of the situation. Professor Oak considered the request (after recovering from hearing Shadow speak English, anyway), then smiled at the duo. "Well, I don't see why not; I'll send a Pokédex over right away. Also, I'll be sending a Pokémon over as well - I'm not entirely sure how the little fellow got here, but I'm sure your friend will like him - " Here he was interrupted by a rather loud crashing sound, causing him to sigh. "...but frankly I can't afford to have him around for too much longer, or he'll destroy the lab. Stand by for delivery." The video feed then cut off, and a few minutes after, a Pokédex and Pokéball appeared on the transporter. Curious, Shadow opened the Pokéball... and promptly got a face ful of overly curious Drilbur. ...Well, at least Rex had his digging-helper now. Now if only the little guy would look around from somewhere besides on top of Shadow's head...

Trinity awed at the little guy, "Aw how cute are you?!" She said to him. She picked him off Shadow's head. She cuddled him to her chest. "You are just so cute. Now to show you to your new trainer." Trinity cooed to the little guy. "Rex meet your new pokemon and here's your pokedex so that you can read up on what he is. He is a Drilbur." She said handing over the little guy. She went back to the phone to call her family. Her father and mother appeared on the screen quickly. "Trinity! How are you, dear?" Her mother said after the hellos. Trinity smiled, "I'm doing fine. i got my first badge and going to train for my next one. I also have a young trainer under my wing to help and Oak gave me a Lucario that was under his care." Trinity explained her other adventures, nothing with Team Rocket in the info. "Well can we see this Lucario?" Her father said already knowing his daughter might be in a relationship with the Pokemon.

Rex stared curiously at the Drilbur. The Drilbur stared curiously at the strange human. After a moment, however, the little guy apparently decided there was something about Rex he liked, because he smiled at him. "Bur!" Rex grinned back. "Nice to meet you, Bur!" he greeted cheerfully. "I'm Rex!" Deciding to look his new friend up on the shiny Pokédex like Trinity suggested, he struggled with the buttons on the 'dex a moment, but eventually came up with not only the stats for the newly nicknamed Bur, but for Aero as well.
Rex stared curiously at the stats for a moment, wondering how it knew his nicknames for the Pokémon, then went on to check out the info on Drilbur in general. "Lessee... so you evolve into a big drill thing at level 31, that's good. What's 'em pee aych', though?" Meanwhile, Bur was now examining Aero and Saph curiously, climbing on top of the tolerant Aerodactyl's head and everything. Hearing the request, Shadow calmly went up to the phone as well so the others could see him. "Hello. I'm Shadow, a pleasure to meet you," he greeted Trinity's parents politely.

Trinity smiled as Shadow introduced himself. He impressed her parents at being about to talk though, "So you can talk?" Her mother asked surprised. "That is surprising. You going to protect my little girl?" Her father asked sternly. Trinity blushed shouting, "Dad! I can protect myself!" She said. "I need to know if you will protect her." The father said ignoring his daughter for the moment.

Trinity's father was satisfied by the Lucario's response. The call ended and Trinity looked at Shadow. "Thank you." She said softly then kissed him on the cheek. Trinity then got to work training her team. Sadly Torch wasn't going to be able to battle in this gym but he still needed to train up because of the threat of Team Rocket. Trinity was mediating as her team trained with her instructions on how she wanted them to.

Shadow turned a little pink at the kiss, but shrugged slightly, trying to play it cool. "Well, it wasn't like my answer was going to be anything else." Still, his tail was wagging as he sat down next to Trinity to meditate with her; unknown to her, meditation was actually the first step to unlocking one's Aura. With that in mind, he sent a sort of aura probe at her, testing her aura with his own to see if she'd be capable of manipulating it. If she couldn't use Aura, she wouldn't feel anything, and if she could, then the most she'd feel was a light tingling sensation. What he did NOT expect what the pure, unadulterated euphoria/pleasure mixture he got when his aura met Trinity's, a sign that they were basically the Aura equivalent of soulmates. If she had even the slightest affinity for Aura manipulation, she'd probably be feeling it too. Meanwhile, Rex grinned slightly at the mention of training, turning to regard his two Pokémon as he considered various methods. "All right... Aero, you're going to get the biggest boulder you can find and carry it while you fly laps as fast as you can. Bur, you're going to see if Saph and Jet are willing to do a two-on-one spar, but failing that you can probably just do dig-laps with a large rock tied to your ankle to increase your digging speed and speed in general - I have a feeling a lot of your tactics will involve digging a lot. And I'll be finding a big boulder and using it for weight-lifting!" he declared. Cue the two Pokémon staring at him like he was crazy... though considering Rex had just declared his intention of weight-lifting with a friggin' boulder, that may have actually been the case. He certainly wasn't all there, at any rate.

Trinity jolted feeling the probe. She was curious about it then returned the touch with one of her own. Her sudden gasp at the cocktail of pleasure and euphoria had her pulling away quickly. She didn't want to embarrass herself. Trinity opened her eyes blushing, "Shadow, please tell that was you." She said as her face turned redder. Jet and Torch looked in horror at Rex. Quickly Torch got small boulder for Aero to start with then Jet flew next to Aero so they could pace with each other. Aster and Saph were working together.

Shadow wordlessly nodded, blushing as well. "Y-yeah... that's actually a common reaction to a s-soulmate's aura..." He cleared his throat. "Well, at least now we know you can use Aura - you wouldn't have noticed that if you couldn't," he mumbled. "Anyway, I'll be back in a minute; I gotta go do, er, stuff. Yeah, stuff." With that, he all but bolted, though if Trinity was paying even the slightest hint of attention she would definitely notice a protrusion in his crotch area as he vanished into the bathroom... and it wasn't one of his spikes. Aero gave Jet a relieved nod of thanks as he started laps with the small boulder in his talons. Bur, meanwhile, recovered from his own shock quickly, starting to spar with Saph and Aster. Rex blinked owlishly. "...Yeah, sure, I suppose small boulder works too," he decided after a moment before heading outside. He soon found not one, but two massive boulders, starting to use them for weightlifting despite the fact that every muscle in his body was metaphorically screaming at him for doing so. (For those who are wondering what his muscles were screaming exactly, the answer is "YOU CRAZY, RECKLESS IDIOT".)

"Hey wait Shadow! What did you mean about soulmates? Shadow!" Trinity called out to the speeding away Lucario. She sighed before helping Rex. "No that's not good. Starting out slow is better." She said stopping him from lifting up the boulders more. She took out her own weights so that he could try them out. Trinity was though waiting for Shadow to come back to explain himself.

Rex stared, puzzled. "Isn't faster better, though?" he asked, confused. "I mean, the idea of training is to get stronger, and the faster that happens the better, right?" ...Apparently he didn't understand the concept of restraint. Still, he shrugged and tried out the offered weights, soon becoming engrossed in his training again. Fortunately, Shadow soon finished "relieving" himself and came back out, heading back over to Trinity. "Sorry about that. Anyway, you wanted to know about the soulmate thing, right? Every living thing has a sort of Aura signature based on who they are, what they are, what they've been through. For example, Rex's Aura has a sort of ancient feel to it due to his Fossil-related abilities, but it's also rather erratic, representing his energetic and cheerful personality, and has hints of... well, a sort of scarring, representing his experiences. To sum it up, a person's Aura signature is about as close as you can get to reading their soul." He started turning a little pink, his blush only growing as he continued. "In addition, some groups of people with certain Aura signatures interact differently than others; for example, even non-Aura-using Dark-types feel drawn to me due to the nature of my own Aura. In this particular case, however, the, er, feeling we got earlier... well, it was, um... well, basically, it meant our Auras were about as perfect a match as it gets... sort of the Aura equivalent of, well... soul mates." By the end of his rambling explanation, he was blushing so hard his face could've been mistaken for a neon sign - and this was through black fur, mind you. It was actually kind of cute.

"Yes but faster means you don't get use to the strength or speed you are trying to get." Trinity explained. The female trainer was then listening to what the Lucario had to say and blushed. "You? You are my soul mate?" She asked amazed. She hugged him happily, "That is so amazing! Do you think our auras sync up regularly? How about we start training in using aura." Trinity said excited to work on this power with Shadow.

Rex still didn't seem to get why he needed to slow down, but nevertheless took her word for it. "Er, not 'sync up', exactly, but our auras will react to each other under certain circumstances," Shadow answered, still blushing heavily as he held her. "A-Anyway, let's start your training." He led her outside, starting to instruct her on the most basic aura skill: how to sense Aura and how to read a person's Aura. With enough practice, sensing Aura would become second-nature to her, though not necessarily the reading-people part.

Trinity nodded and closed her eyes. She focused herself. Her aura started to pulse out feeling the others' auras. She smiling feeling Shadow's before ignoring his to label the others on who is who.
