Day 2

Farvardin grinned at Alec as he began to talk about his sister. Suddenly he was being hugged by a little girl who was the cutest thing she had ever seen. Her eyes grew big and she was about to squeal in delight and all but 'attack' the child (and most likely scare her) when his mother appeared and said hello. "Oh hello! I'm Farvardin. Farvardin Wyman. Your daughter is so CUTE! And your son is so nice. He'sbeenshowingmearoundtownandhelpingmeoutand....." She trailed off since she was getting so excited that everything she said just ran together.

She realized that Alec and Ashley had wandered off to see the horse from yesterday. "Wait up!" She called running after them. "So Alec this is your sister? You never said she was so cute!" She then spotted Shakuntala and gave her a grin. "Oh hi there! How are thingssssss...." She trailed off again finally noticing the horse. She stared at it for a long moment before looking at the other two teens. "It's a horse." ((Imagine if you will that she is suddenly looking like 'OwO'))

Cause Farvardin is busy staring at the horse like she's never seen one before when she has.

Day 2

Then Farvardin interjected with her delight. Squealing happily Ashley darted from her mothers side, hugging the girl tightly and just like she'd greeted her brother delighted for the acknowledgement. Forgotten was Drakon and now her newest friend. She was quick to give Tala one as.

The older woman smiled as the girl rambled. "I'm glad, he told me a bit about you. Its wonderful to know he has such nice friends." She smiled between both older girls.

"Ashley is pretty cute when she's not pitching a fit." he grinned, rewarding him with a pout from the girl.

"NUH UH." she make faces at him, darting behind Farvardin's leg and pulling on her eyelid making 'nyyyyeeeeh' sounds.

"I almost wanted to wear a costume..but I think this'll do for now." he cast a glance at several trainees moving by, their uniforms reminding him he needed to go turn in his papers. He'd sat up late the night before, carefully trying to write his name down on t hem, and had nearly thrown them away in frustration. Luckily they were just waiting for him on his desk to hand to an official. But that would be later.

"I hope one of us gets to ride." He said a bit wistfully, letting Tala get closer so she could talk away to Drakon if she pleased. "But that's a bit much thinking wise."

Having Nik join them, and having his hand on his shoulder he grinned up at the older boy. "Glorified mule eh? Good luck with that one Nikky." He teased lightly patting at the hand quickly before dropping his hands at his side. "You'll be fine Nik, I'm sure you wont be the only one at it." There would be other help he was sure...something that large couldn't be pulled by one being.

His mother smiled at him. "We'll need to get the cart in shape." She coaxed at her child to come with her, but she wouldn't budge from Farvardin's side. "I'll go see about getting something to wipe the cart down -- Oh? It she seems to have taken a liking to you." She looked at the girl with the arm band with a gentle smile. She seemed okay, and the girl was hardly scared. Instead she smiled happily pleased as could be.

To Tala she said "Are you good with animals dear? I'll have you and Alec wash them down i'll get the cart to start." With that she went to go do just that, getting there tasks started anyway waiting only long enough to hear her response.

Prompt 2 > 3? I Think?

Danny parked it on a bench near Shun as the assignments were listed. It was hot, and she was a bit tired, but she was considerably more energetic than some of her cohorts. Some of them looked like they were nearly going to pass out.

"Hey! What about me!" she nagged the old lady. "Danny Fitzgerald! I want to help too!" The orange-haired girl crossed her fingers and hoped to whatever god was out there that she would get to ride a horse today.

Day 2

After drinking his second cup of water, Shun finally went on over towards the trainee.

"Oi. Where am I being put? I'm technically a trainee now but I don't have a uniform yet. Can't play anything either so probably should avoid the marching band unless you want things to sound like s**t."

Day 2

Farvardin turned from the horse when she was suddenly hugged. She looked down to spot Ashley hiding behind her leg. "SO CUTE!" She cried out while bending down. Once she was at eye level with the little girl she grinned. "Hey you wanna play while they work? Do you like spinning or piggy back rides?" She then looked up at their mother, "I can watch her while you guys work. I'm used to watching little ones. I have a little brother that I watch. Plus all I have to do is keep people from away from the canal and keep a look out."

leon_a_darkangel
I gotta go for the night but you can act like Farvardin is keeping Ashley busy for however long you want. I won't be on until after the deadline for Day 2 stuff.

Day 2

The child's eyes were wide with sparkling wonder at the older girls suggestion. She'd always wanted a sister, boys were gross! "You are too! I like your hair Farvy" She chirped happily, dubbing her with a nickname having no luck with her full one. Even if she loved her big brother. Bobbing her head happily the girl tugged at her shirt sleeve. She was almost getting to old to be carried around like a doll but she was small enough it was still plausible. "Piggggggy back ride please?!!" she gasped bouncing in place excitedly, stretching her arms out trustingly. When put on her new perch rest her chin on top of the others head looking pleased with herself.

The pair were off, as Farvardin had things to look into, and was quiet content with watching the child. It meant work on the cart could be done. Alec trusted the girl, or else he'd have tried to butt in and take over the baby sitting job.

The horse Drakon seemed pleased all in all. The various humans wandering around, and giving him attention earned them all a soft nicker, and a nod of the steeds head. He leaned down, nudging his muzzle at Tala as if he remembered the human from yesterday.

Alec's mother thanked Farvardin with a grateful smile, the girl was a handful. "I'll come by and grab her after we clean up."

All the while Alec watched, quiet for the moment a sense of peace keeping a small smile on the teens face.

Bluedemonwolf
Alright Blue <3 I'll go with that. She'll just help Farvardin, and hang out on her new perch in the mean time >3

[Responded to prompt 1 during the prompt, but missed these 2 because I was busy]

Prompt 2

Rikki stood for a solid 30 seconds staring at the bag of dirt. He ran his hand through his hair and tilted his head, as if that would make it turn into something more useful, but it didn't. It was a bag of dirt.

Bag. Of. Dirt.

She seriously wanted him to drag this worthless bag across the courtyard? What the hell would that prove? He kicked the sack, hoping it would slide easy, but surprise of all surprises, it didn't. Dirt was unsurprisingly heavy. He grabbed a corner of the sack and dragged it maybe a couple feet before he let it go in a cloud of dust.

"Nope." Whatever dragging a bag of dirt was supposed to prove, he didn't want to prove it.

Prompt 3

He hadn't really broken a sweat or anything, but he grabbed some water anyways. He was glad Danny had at least managed to impress the lady. Maybe that meant she would get a fun position in the parade.

He couldn't help but wonder what task he would be saddled with.

(( Sorry for the awkward transition and if I left anything out. Tried to type this up rather quickly, aha... ))

Day 2

Shakuntala blinked in surprise as a flourish of bodies and dialogue were directed her way that she didn't have a chance to answer before because her creator was busy editing her journal instead of replying. Within the frame of time, the girl was greeted again by the noble that had partook in the game at her mother's booth -- Nik -- then assigned her duties for the cart and addresed by Alec's mother. She even forgot about Farvardin in the bunch.

The girl flashed the small a wave in greeting. "H-Hello..." She tilted her head at his words, not understanding what "respiratory" meant. Yet, his addition answered her thought almost immediately. "Ah, that's good, I think..." Shakuntala nodded to the male of a higher status. The spiciness was great for clearing one's sinuses, but otherwise, the Tischendorf didn't see the appeal of eating it much.

Blinks followed after Farvadin's excitement and slipped passed the girl's hesitance. It took a moment for her to register this person was a bit too energetic for her tastes and she shirked back away from the other female right into the ebony steed, which nuzzled her playfully. She chuckled and patted the center of his muzzle fondly.

The girl nodded her head slowly at Alec's mother. "Sort of..." she replied, not including only if they were living. Dead things were at the top of her most despised things.

Day 3

Since Shakuntala and Alec with his family were stuck with the carts, they were given a list of tasks that looked as though it'd take a millennia to complete. Going down the requriements mentally, she turned to the fiery redhead and asked, "W-What would you... like to do first? There's so much..."

Day 3

With the next day's arrival his mother came back prepared overseeing the task with the two teens. Luckily Farvardin had offered to again watch Ashley as she would have none of this cleaning nonsense.

Alec on the other hand looked from the cart and back to Shakuntala. "I..am not sure." He yawned tapping at his lips a bit sleepily stretching. The red head pulled at his goggle straps lightly down over his eyes blinking. "I'll sweep the cart..or brush off the ox's. I'm pretty sure we both can get the decorations going after that. Do you prefer one over the other?" He eyed the beasts warily, also asking her. Really he'd do whatever she was least comfortable.

The box they'd brought had plenty of supplies, for dressing up riffling around he pulled a straw hat out and offered it the soft spoken girl, by plopping it on his head at first. "Y'all reckon dis works?" He slurred his accent grinning at her suddenly. The black haired girl didn't smile that much, it was the youngers new goal to help give her a reason or two.

NaomiNaomi
once the carts good for day 4 we'll fling the breeder asking for riders?

Day 3

Though he vaguely remembered something about a barge from Utopia he hadn’t put as much thought into it as he perhaps should have. At least, until he noticed a few people who would know his face the instant they saw it surrounding the grand thing. They would notice the dirt stains on his fine clothing, the chapping on his hands and most of all, that he was among the ranks of the great unwashed. He would never hear the end of it, and if word got to his esteemed parents he would need to come up with an elaborate excuse to keep from being accused of besmirching the family name by falling to such a low rank in front of others.

He just barely ducked behind someone walking in the same direction when a young woman he had seen, and flirted with, at many parties sauntered by with a look of obvious disgust plastered on her painted face. Breathing a sigh of relief, and making a mental note to stay out of sight of the Utopia barge, he finally wound up where he needed to be.

A rickety looking piece of driftwood that should never have been cleared for touching water, let alone sailing it, was to serve as their pride and joy. “Plug leaks?” He chuckled to himself. “Have they seen this thing?” Shaking his head and rolling up his neatly pressed sleeves he gathered into a group of people who looked as though they were sharing ideas concerning how the leaky tub should look.

...These were not the results Elliot wanted. Or expected, for that matter--he was staring especially at the criteria that followed "Decorating barge". He had been collapsed facedown in the grass--he even had a bit of a grass stain in his shirt to show for it! But, well, that aside...

Staring at the sheet blankly, he bit back a groan when he realized that he didn't have any excuse in trying to back out of volunteering. The question was, which of these would result in the least amount of effort and humiliation? The Ox-carts were a ton of work...and he definitely wouldn't be able to deal with the barges without quite possibly seriously injuring himself. He had learned from this that he could dance okay, but he was not putting on any silly costumes, which also took the last option out of the picture.

...

"You don't need more people in security, do you?" That seemed like a nice and relatively easy job at least, so long as all hell didn't break loose, "Because if you do, put me down for that I guess. Otherwise..." Otherwise, this would take a ton of brainstorming.

Mythee
( ouo)/ Just ICly replying @ Security duty!

Day 3

...What were they supposed to be doing today? Practicing for their jobs or something? Folding his arms across his chest, the boy let out a little hum as he considered what that really meant for him. It was kind of hard to "practice" being security. What was he supposed to do--randomly yell at people? Call them out for being suspicious looking?

He supposed that he could wander around and check up on how others were doing, but while he was a slacker himself, Elliot wasn't so sure that he wanted to trouble anyone while they were working. Maybe if he got lucky, he'd find someone else who was on security duty, or someone who was already blowing off their duties.

...If not, then eh, no big deal. He'd just...lie down for a nap or something.

The copper-skinned female's eyes slid between the cart and the hulking beast of burden that would eventually be the one to pull it. Clutching her chin between forefinger and thumb and considering the matter, her hand eventually dropped to her side and she looked to Alec thoughtfully.

"C-Clearing and decorating the carts -- with flowers -- s-seems like the... hardest thing right now... W-Why don't we do that first?
"

While the girl did want to get to the oxen first, they had to wait. The girl blinked at the redhead's sudden change of voice before she realized what was going on. Smothering a small chuckle behind the palm of her hand, she took a straw hat from Alec and topped off her head.

"I think s... I thinks so?" she replied a bit half-clueless, half-jokingly.

Day 2 - wrapping up

Although Axel wasn't terribly thrilled about pulling a barge, he was pretty sure that was where he would end up. But he didn't have it in him to skulk off and do something else when he might be needed, so he approached the trainee at the tent. He wiped his hands off on his pants to get any lingering dirt from the bags off before going up to the counter.

"Hello. Do you have an assignment for me?"

He tapped the volunteer security armband and shrugged. "I volunteered for security yesterday, but if you need me to do something else, I'll do that. Whatever you need the most."

Mythee
Getting an assignment, feel free to take him off security since he's SO SUSPICIOUS and all ;; <3

The paler boy waited for her to think, sitting patiently in his spot beside the prop box. Blinking up at her as she commented on perhaps what was the worst part of their tasks. "Yea..this'll take a moment." Alec sighed, rubbing his neck some.

When she finally looked back, and was covering her laughter he simply grinned and got up hopping into the cart to begin sweeping.

"I think we'll look the part for sure." He agreed, nodding at the hat on her head in approval. Pushing the broom around, cleaning up as he went. At least with some one else around it went by faster. But the flowers -- leaning over the wagon he reached down pulling up some of the bundles into the cart.

"...ugh. Flowers no, stay!" he pushed them into place eyeing them as they did as they pleased. Alec meanwhile was acting as if they could hear him.

At least they were making progress.

The hat upon Shakuntala's head dipped to one side as she took a moment to consider Alec's statement. She looked the part? Her eyes dropped down to her cheaply crafted attire, but she didn't ruminate over it much. Farmers came in all shapes and sizes, right? Right?

Shakuntala followed him up into the deck of the cart and also nabbed herself a broom. It was a daily task for the Tischendorf to sweep the corner where her father threw his dusty boots every evening, so she was quick with the utensil when it came to pushing out dirt from the small crevasses of the wheeled vessel.

The girl covered her mouth again in a small chuckle at Alec's one-sided exchange with the flowers. She picked up an armful herself and laid small bushels gently to the cart in a neat and decorative fashion. Halfway through her work, the girl realized how much of a bride her mother would've said she looked like, and immediately grew disgusted with herself. As once, the plethora of flowers she held were tossed huffily to the cart. She had to stop thinking too hard while working.

Realizing how much easier it was to just toss the flora, she repeated the action. "This is quicker..." she reasoned aloud. She had no time for pretty pettiness.
