Just as he straightened up, the dart somehow slipped from his hand. Again.
Somebody had butterfingers. Grumbling a little louder this time, he crouched down to retrieve it once more, making sure he had a decent hold on the thing this time.

His unimpressed look was multiplied tenfold as he then proceeded to miss. While he knew it was anything but, Elliot decided he liked to believe that it was that dart's fault that he had missed. Clearly. It was cursed or something. Yes, let's go with that--his dart was cursed and that was why he kept dropping it and why he missed.
Clearly it had nothing to do with his butterfingers or his own lack of skill!

Ah yes, and this here was an uncursed dart. He squared his shoulders in satisfaction as a loud popping noise filled the air, staring at the shriveled piece of blue rubber that had been inflated just a second prior. Now that was better! And speaking of balloons...maybe his cat would enjoy it if he brought one home for her to play with.
Not a minute later, the boy had a shiny new balloon to take home for his cat to inevitably demolish.

Another dart handed to him, another balloon down. Considering the prizes--and taking into account that he had like five new plushies, thanks to his own wins and Bas' gifts--the boy ultimately asked for one of the rubber balls. Hopefully, unlike the balloon, this would manage to hold out against Seren's pointy little teeth and claws.
Not that he had high hopes for that. She was generally a docile and gentle cat, but she was pretty vicious when it came to her toys. He would never forget waking up to find that she had decapitated her catnip mouse toy and left it in pieces on his bed.
It was always grateful for the fact that he was much, much larger than her, and therefore harder to hunt.

Except now it was time to get back to work at his own booth. As he turned to leave, Elliot picked up one last dart and gave it a sharp toss towards the balloon-covered wall. A rare smile spreading over his lips as he was met with a pop, the boy lift a hand to wave to the teen manning the booth.
"I'll be back later to play some more, I suppose. Thanks for the game--nice way to kill some time." After selecting one more balloon as a prize, he gathered up his things and left for now.
