He tripped, and it felt like it was going to be the end.

[Chase: Part 1] Cupcake should have listened to the others who had started running before her. If she had, maybe she hadn't had her HP reduced to 10! At least she had the handy pocket card. Sure it was a little annoying having it announce it to everyone, but at least she knew right away. Cupcake couldn't get away fast enough, though, as it took another bite from her and took another 4 health points away. Oh no! At this rate, she would die. Hopefully it was like a regular game and she would just respawn at the beginning of the level. But she didn't want to think about that, she had to run. He had seen a lot of strange things lately, but this, by far, was the strangest.
The woods trembled, and he heard the cracking of trees.Critters skittered past him in wild frenzy.
It's... coming?
And then he heard it. No. Felt it.
... there was something behind him, wasn't there?
With reluctance, he turned, and before he could even move...
SNAP.
He didn't feel pain, though he should have, and while stunned, an electronic voice pierced the silence, letting him know he was in danger.

For the time being, it seemed he was able to outrun it, but as they say, the woods were never safe.
Voices called out to him. Familiar ones. Some comforting him. Some taunting him. Just... who was it that was calling for him?
Part of him told him he'd find out if he turned around, but... wasn't THAT thing still there?
... no. He couldn't risk it.

[The Chase: Part 2] Cake knew she just had to keep running. If she stopped running the Jabberwocky would catch up. And if it caught up, it would try to bite her. If it bit her again, surely she wouldn't manage to survive that. She just had to keep running...but...it was making her so tired, her legs were burning and she was breathing so hard even though she hadn't been running that far. Man, she was really out of shape. But getting in shape required working out, and that was just too much work, just like this running was. Then, suddenly, she didn't hear it behind her anymore. She heard footsteps but not the Jabberwocky. There was voices, her parents voices calling out to her and telling her it was safe. They were begging for her to stop and talk to them. But no, they weren't there, it was just her in this strange forest. Cupcake had to resist and keep running, no matter how hard it was for her to resist the temptation to stop and turn around. Still running, he arrived at a split.
Left or right? Which way to go...
He turned to his left, and noticed a watch. Perhaps... it would slow down time?
To be honest, he had no idea what it would do, but still, he snatched it up, path decided.
The delay had nearly proved fatal as the jabberwock snapped at him again, making him wince as it tore into him, and a voice spoke out an even lower number.
He couldn't dally. He had to run.

SLC runs panting, her lungs aching for more air. She can't help but feel it's metaphorical breath on her. It's coming after me, she couldn't help but think. I'm never going to escape. Even when she thought she couldn't run anymore, she kept on. It wasn't as close, but she could hear it...and something else too. Something else too.. "SLC! Come to me," it was her mother's voice. For a moment, she stopped and she felt herself being pulled to the voice. SLC. SLC... No, her name was Chardinya. It was just a trick. She had to keep running.. [The Chase: Part 3] It wasn't long before the path she was running on came to a "Y" forcing her to choose one way or another. One way gave her a health potion and the other gave her a second chance timer. Both would be helpful...Cupcake looked at her pocket card momentarily, wanting to not waste any time. Her health was at 6...so...wasn't health more important? Deciding quickly, she chose the health potion and began running once more. [ THE CHASE PART 1 ]
The sudden crashing sent a shiver up the ghost boil's spine. It had been so quiet, peaceful even, that the sudden appearance of the jabberwock had him stumbling backwards before he took off into a full run.
Unfortunately, the crashing and snapping sounds behind him told him that the jabberwock wasn't going to simply let him run. Not without giving a good chase and---
A leg swiped him causing him to stumble further and chipped away at his health.

The sound of the jabberwock crashing behind him hadn't stopped, however they did grow distant, almost as though he was losing it through the woods. He didn't dare stop, however. Not yet. It was still much too soon for that. So he did the only reasonable thing left to do. He kept going.
Strangely enough, the more he carried on, the more he could hear the sound of whispers. Something, or rather, someone familiar. It was warm, friendly, tempting him to turn around and look for the source.
But he didn't.
