Cai

For as small as he was, Genith managed to pack away a lot of meat before he finally curled up and let sleep take over. Within moments of finishing his last bite, he was out. Cai bent to pick the sleeping hatchling off of the ground and dragged him up onto the bench, fighting a smile as the blue huffed in mild annoyance.

Unlike his dragon, Cai felt very little compulsion to sleep. He could feel the temptation, the pull of unconsciousness from Genith on his own mind, but he fought it. Now was his opportunity to actually get a proper look at this new thing that had affixed itself to him so thoroughly, and to process what had happened, and what that meant for him. Up until now he'd purely been focusing on the here an now, his mind shutting out all else until it could properly grasp the situation. Now though, he looked over Genith as the dragon stretched and sprawled on the bench.

He was small. That was obvious from the get go, but to Cai's knowledge of dragons (which wasn't much. His focus was humans) he looked proportionate, and the amount of energy he had exhibited gave lie to any ideas of frailty in the small blue.

He was incredibly tiny though. Smaller than the rest of the green hatchlings, and dwarfed by the other blues. Cai carefully lifted and spread one of his wings, touching the thin membrane and seeing a faint glow from the glowbaskets shine through. Hopefully it would thicken as he grew.

As for his identity as a Healer, Cai would not accept that this changed things. He would still be a Healer, the only thing that changed was that he had a dragon now. There would be some extra lessons for a while while Genith grew, but things would go back to normal in time. Having Genith wasn't going to get in his way. How could he? He was Cai's lifebond. I will do anything for you. The 'sleeping' dragon affirmed with a wash of love and adoration.

He staggered and stumbled a few steps more into the girl's side. Oh?! What was that? Something caught his attention. The blue bounded energetically toward Jemi. He crooned and cuddled himself against her leg. Leaning into her where she'd have to stand firm or he'd fall. Sandy blue looked up at her with deep blue eyes and.......

Bacha

She had her full attention on the trumpeting blue. My he was a showy one! The young teen giggled as the darted back and forth then spun himself in circles. Didn't he know.... Nope he found out. She stepped back as the blue stumbled by. Hopefully it wouldn't last long.

Ah he seemed to have found what he wanted. She watched as the blue gazed up adoringly at the girl he leaned against, assuming she'd Impressed him.

Kaimi

Well, Zimrith was well and fully asleep. Her head was heavy in Kaimi's lap. The young harper held her dragon protectively as her eyes turned back to the hatching sands and she fought off a yawn. She, too, was feeling the emotional and physical exhaustion of the day.

The Shooting Star blue was still having a grand old time playing around with the various candidates, splashing about in the rain, and slinging mud. He was having a blast, but seeming mid-play he paused. That urgent need to find His began to press more incessantly at his mind. The muddied blue gave a tonal rumble and proceeded to more directly trot amidst the standees. Shooting Star took a few moments to consider all of the remaining boys before turning his attention to the girls. The boys were all very nice, but His wasn't among them.

Stepping lightly as he made his way through the girls, the big blue seemed to slow to almost a creep and pausing. He stood still as a statue for a moment, a bit of a mischievous lashing to his tail. Practically leaping up into a quarter turn on the spot, the Shooting Star hatchling accidentally knocked Demanthra into the mud!

'Oh, DemanthraMine! I'm sorry! I didn't mean to knock you down. I was just wanting to surprise you!' The blue proceeded to nuzzle and rub his face against her own face and shoulders, sharing the love...and the mud with His. 'I am very happy to have found you. Isn't this stuff just great? Oh! I am your Llyrith, Mine, and I know that we'll make such wonderful music together. Though perhaps can we have dinner first? I am rather hungry.'

Jemi froze as a hatching, blue, sandy and why was it cuddling her? She looked down at the blue, setting her feet firmly into the sand to keep from falling. And he was staring at her... but wasn't in her mind. Jemi was certain she wouldn't miss something alien in her mind. What was going on. Was he taking his time? Just being cuddly like a domestic feline?

Balchas watched the blue cuddle up to a candidate in the girls and he sighed, He'd hoped this one was for his sister.... wait... there wasn't any rainbow eyes, did that mean he was just being loving? .... or just taking his time to actually Impress to the boy, Balchas was frustrated with this whole clutch aside from the ones that went about Impressing right away, he was glad that shaffing tiny blue Impressed though. Hopefully it wouldn't go about biting people anymore.

Becka had to blink hard, fighting against the sleepiness tugging at the back of her mind, this wouldn't do, she wasn't even tired, it was all Taikirth. She sighed and sat down for the first time realising that she wasn't the only Healer there. "Cai!? ... you.. Impressed?" she said in disbelief. TWO Healers Impressing? One with a wounded dragon, the other with a dragon that had wounded many, well the injured ones had been in good hands at least. She wondered if Cai was as totally blindsided as she'd been to realise that now you had someone else to take care of and wouldn't have a private moment ever again. She took note of how small his blue was and it was only her own green that was actually smaller than he was, the two smallest dragons had chosen Healers, did the dragons know something the Healers didn't?

Cai looked up from his inspection of Genith, smoothing the miniature dragon's wing back into place with a surprisingly gentle hand. Had Becka really not noticed him there? Then again neither had expected to be there and he supposed he could let that, and the neglect of his title, slide for now. He was in a rather good mood after all. He could even let go of his earlier scorn of her for the time being. Though she still shouldn't have been at the Touching in his opinion.

"Looks like it." He placed a protective hand on Geniths head. "His name is Genith."

Becka blushed as she realised she'd forgotten to use Cai's title. "sorry, Journeyman Cai, i just... i'm still surprised i'm here, with a dragon i mean" she fumbled, the sleepiness from Taikirth fogging her brain a little. If she was honest with herself, now her green was asleep, she'd never had attended the touching if she'd thought she'd actually influenced a dragon in it's shell, that was the only explanation for her having Impressed Taikirth. "He's a feisty dragonet for sure" she said, smiling gently "This is Taikirth" she said, sitting down as Taikirth woke momentarily, complaining without words that she wanted to snuggle up with Becka and go back to sleep. Becka didn't know how she did that, communicate her wishes without as many words, she knew body language but the feeling from Taikirth was totally different

"Going to take some getting used to isn't it?" she said to Cai,

"Heh." Cai snorted. "Cai will be fine." There permission was granted. After all he realized, while he still outranked her as a healer (though he had only just earnedhis knots) they both had dragons now and he supposed that did afford them some equal ground. There was nothing that ddidn't surprise him at this point. In the glow of Impression still he felt more lenient and forgiving thsn he'd ever before. Really he'd never been happier even though he knew he should be severely alarmed.

"I would assume so... I can't imagine riders walk around this fogged all the time. If so then I certainly don't trust them to protect us anymore. " It wasn't the right description but it was the only word that would come to the mind of the young man who'd never even communicated with a flit. It was distracting even with Genith asleep. He was just so aware of him! "It's like he is also a part of my body, connected but distant... like hair? But not quite. More than that. Maybe like a phantom limb like some amputees report. There but not. It's difficult to describe." He looked to Becka, seeking her opinion on his assesment as a fellow healer.

The Blazing Egg didn't rock or stir a hair for a long time. Everyone was soaked to the bone with the rain by the time it moved, and when it did it simply burst open to reveal a large green. Her legs shuddered under her for a moment and she snapped at a few drops of rain, then seemed to suddenly notice the candidates. The hatchling's neck straightened and she scrambled straight to the boys' side.

Dianno

He was cleaned, numbed and bandaged with the assurance that the scrapes probably wouldn't even scar as long as he took care they didn't get infected. Still, Dianno hung back with the healers and this late in the clutch, no one bothered him much about it.

Seeing the newest green charge the boys made him glad he'd done so.

Wen watched the blue rub against his partner, worried and elated. Was Jemi going to impress? A blue would suit her well, but there was no whirl of bright eyes and she hadn't moved. He shifted, looking out as the green raced towards the boys. Hopefully she knew who was hers.

The Sandy Blue stayed that way for a good minute. He watched the girl’s reaction. Wasn’t she hopeful that he was her dragon? Didn’t she wonder why he didn’t talk to her? Finally the blue…. laughed. His eyes whirled blue as he nudged Jemi playfully. Springing to his feet, he raced across the sands towards the boys. The blue skilled to a halt in front of Wen.

I fooled you Wenmine! Didn’t I? Your Wyleth fooled everyone! The blue seemed very pleased with himself at the joke he had pulled.

Wen froze, watching the blue nudge his watchmate and then come to the boys. It wasn't an impression. What was that no, it felt like swallowing spice wine and sunwarmth and brush of bare skin and his dragon ******** with his watchmate.
which hurt. He shook his head and shook his head. Baby, child, wouldn't have known how much Jemi had been there.

Wen looked over at Jemi and smiled slightly as she signed congrats. He shifted, reaching out to slowly touch Wyleth, brushing sand away. He couldn't think of words, and decided on the one thing he could settle on.

Wyleth wiggled, prancing by his bondmate as they moved on. He could think of so many things.
