Esca smiled as she found the container and opened it, putting the disk into the DVD player. She picked up the remote and set it on the coffee table before sitting back down on the couch, folding her legs under her and shifting around until she was comfortable. She looked over at at Atari and frowned.
"Atari? Are you okay?"

"Huh?" Her question prompted his eyes to widen, and he jumped just slightly as he turned to look to her. Giggles spilled from his lips and he nodded, perhaps a bit over enthusiastically. "Yep! I'm okay!" It was the truth, after all. He was just fine. Simply slightly embarrassed with himself for watching her move the way he had.

"Oh, that's good then!" Esca nodded as she reached over, taking a cookie from the peanut-butter-and-chocolate-chip plate, nibbling on it. "Mm...those are good." She smiled as the movie started, and nodded at the screen. "Isn't New Zealand pretty?"

"New Zealand?" his ears twitched slightly as he looked between the screen and Esca. "Is that the name of the realm the movie takes place in?" He giggled softly, hushing the sound with more nibbles to his cookie, a squeak as a large chunk broke off and landed in his cup, though he let it sink into the milk as he looked back to the girl beside him.

Esca giggled. "It's not really a realm...It's a place. It's near...Australia?" She tilted her head, looking off. "I think...I'll find a map later and show you."

"Oooh," he purred, nibbling from his cookie as he looked back to the screen. "It's in this realm, then?" He giggled as he shifted his eyes back after Esca, his face still turned towards the televison. He'd understand this place sooner or later!

"That's right," Esca said, with a smile and a nod. "But the movie's story is from another world." She giggled, taking another bite of cookie.

One of Atari's ears twitched, and he cocked his head slightly before his shoulders drooped and he whimpered softly. "Movies are confusing..."

Esca laughed and picked up the remote, putting the movie on pause. She got up and dug around the living room until she found some paper and a pencil. She went back to the couch and sat down, beginning to draw. There were two big circles, with a camera drawn next to one. The other circle had a sword and bow and arrows next to it.
She pointed at the one with the camera. "This is our world here, see, where it's all filmed." she pointed at the other next. "And this is the story world, using the scenery and stuff from the real world." She stuck the pencil behind her ear, and frowned. "Oh, that probably doesn't help any, does it..."

Atari could help but giggle at Esca's attempt to better help him understand. "It does!" he assured her, gently plucking the pencil from behind her ear so he could flip the page over, an intriquet spiral design of various shaped bubbles etched over the page, larger bubbles towards the center of the spiral, smaller ones as it pronged off in either direction. He then marked various bubbles before smiling brightly to the girl. "This is how my Dad taught me about places. This bubble here, is this world here! And then this bubble here is where my Dad is from, and this bubble here is where my Mom is from. This string of bubbles are the darker aligned realms, and these bubbles are the lighter aligned realms." He traced a faint line through each respectively, trying to display that for every 'dark bubble' there was a 'light bubble'. "This world helps to keep the balance between all the bubbles!" Despite the soft lavender tone of his skin he blushed, and offered the pencil back as he collected another cookie to nibble on. "Maybe the things happening in this movie really did happen in another world!"

"That makes sense...Oh, wouldn't that be exciting!" Esca smiled, brightening. "Seeing all this go by...It would be hard at times though, all dangerous..."

"Isn't every place dangerous, though?" It was what he had always been taught, at least. He offered a cute smile at her before shifting to maake himself more comfortable on the couch with her.

"I guess that's true..." Esca reached up, scratching the back of her head. "So I guess we might as well stay here where the cookies are, right?" She giggled.

"Right!" Atari laughed, shifting to offer Esca a hug. "Safe here with the cookies and the movies!" Another bought of blush flushed his features and he shidted back to make himself comfortable near the girl.

Esca nodded and giggled, returning the hug. She hesitated a moment, then leaned against him, nibbling on another cookie.
